THREE COMPONENT COMPOSITION FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF POLYURETHANE CEMENTITIOUS HYBRID FLOORING OR COATING WITH IMPROVED SURFACE GLOSS

The present invention relates to a three component composition consisting of a polyol component (A) comprising at least two polyols, one with high and one with low molecular weight, and water, a polyisocyanate component (B) comprising a methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI) product with an average NCO functionality of at least 2.5, or a methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI) product with an average NCO functionality of at least 2 and at least one further polyol with an amount of between 1% and 30% based on the weight of said polyisocyanate component (B), wherein said MDI product and said polyol have reacted at least partially, and a powder component (C) comprising at least one hydraulic binder, preferably cement and/or calcined paper sludge, preferably a calcium compound selected from calcium hydroxide and/or calcium oxide, and optionally one or more aggregates. Polyurethane cementitious hybrid flooring or coating systems having glossy/semiglossy surfaces, good workability and outstanding mechanical properties can be achieved. Blister formation can be avoided.

CEMENT ADMIXTURE, METHOD FOR PRODUCING CEMENT ADMIXTURE, AND CEMENT COMPOSITION

Provided is a cement admixture containing a dicalcium silicate compound having an average particle diameter of 5 to 100 m as measured by microscopic observation and also having an average aspect ratio represented by ((major axis diameter)/(minor axis diameter)) of 1.3 or more. It becomes possible to provide a cement admixture having excellent fire resistance and also having an excellent retained ratio of compressive strength, an excellent retained ratio of Young's modulus after the reception of heat and excellent carbonation resistance after the reception of heat.

Approximately 50,000 tons of sewage sludge are generated in Qatar every year as by-product from the treatment of municipal wastewater. The sewage sludge contains a wide range of contaminants, such as heavy metals, pathogens, and organic pollutants, and its disposal presents significant challenges due to its potential impact on human health and the environment. Thermally dried sludge pellets are only permitted for use in landscaping and their use is declining with time, with the majority sent to landfill. The government is considering the ban of sewage sludge landfilling due to the potential risks of accumulated contaminants. The present technology provides an innovative solution for the conversion of sewage sludge into cementitious material for use in the construction industry.

CARBONIZED PRODUCT-CONTAINING GRANULES AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THEM, AND USE

Granules are provided for building materials or as aggregates in building materials. Methods for producing the granules are also provided. The granules include a binder and a carbonized product, where the content of the carbonized product in each granule amounts to 30 wt.-% or more relative to the total weight of the binder and the carbonized product in the granule.
