The improvement comprises of a UV light source located on the tongue cleaner scraper head that would let UV light shine directly onto the tongue, as it is stroked against the tongue, it would kill the germs and bacteria.

In one aspect, the invention can be an oral care implement comprising: a head and a handle, the head having a first face, a second face, and at least one port extending through the head from the first face to the second face; a plurality of tufts of bristles extending from the first face of the head; a soft tissue cleanser positioned on the second face of the head, the soft tissue cleanser comprising a pad formed of an elastomeric material and a plurality of tissue engaging elements extending from the pad; and an elastomeric tooth cleaning element extending from the first face of the head, the elastomeric tooth cleaning element integrally formed with the pad and extending through the port in the head.

The elongated handle includes a first portion and a second portion detachably connected with each other. Each of the first portion and the second portion has a cavity formed there-within. A resilient element, made of a resilient material, has a first edge disposed within the cavity of the first portion and a second edge disposed within the cavity of the second portion. The resilient element, in an in-operative configuration, is linearly disposed within the first portion and the second portion, thereby defining the operative configuration of the toothbrush. The resilient element in an operative configuration has at least a portion forming an arc, thereby defining an in-operative configuration of the toothbrush.

An oral care implement with a soft tissue cleanser. The oral care implement may include a handle and a head, the head having a first surface and an opposite second surface. A first cleanser may be fixed to the first surface of the head such that the first cleanser has a hole through which a portion of the first surface of the head is exposed. This disclosure provides tongue retractors for oral medical procedures such as frenotomies. The retractors include first and second planar members extending from a vertex, wherein the first and second members extend from the vertex at a predetermined angle so as to provide upward retraction of the tongue of a subject when the retractor is placed in the subject's mouth; and an opening within at least one of the members. The opening is arranged to expose the frenulum of the subject and to permit an operator to surgically operate on the frenulum while the retractor is placed in the subject's mouth. The disclosure also provides uses of the retractors in procedures to cut a frenelum, e.g., to treat ankyloglossia.

In one aspect, the invention can be an oral care implement comprising: a handle; a head having a structural body having a front surface and a rear surface opposite the front surface; a basin formed into the rear surface of the structural body, the structural body comprising a protuberance extending upward from a recessed floor of the basin, the basin surrounding the protuberance; a first cleaner formed of a resilient material for cleansing soft oral tissue located within the basin, the protuberance of the structural body extending through a central hole of the first cleaner; and a second cleaner formed of a resilient material for cleansing soft oral tissue, the second cleaner located on the protuberance of the structural body.
