A ferrite sintered magnet 100 comprises M-type ferrite crystal grains 4 and multiple-crystal grain boundaries 6b surrounded by three or more of the M-type ferrite crystal grains 4. The ferrite sintered magnet 100 contains at least Fe, Ca, B, and Si, and contains 0.005 to 0.9 mass % of B in terms of B.sub.2O.sub.3. The multiple-crystal grain boundaries 6b contain Si and Ca, and in a case where the molar ratio of Ca to Si in the multiple-crystal grain boundaries 6b is represented by (Ca/Si).sub.G, the following formula is satisfied.

In an aspect, a ferrite composition comprises a RuCo.sub.2Z ferrite having the formula: (Ba.sub.3-xM.sub.x)Co.sub.2(MRu).sub.yFe.sub.24-2y-zO.sub.41, wherein M is at least one of Sr, Pb, or Ca; M is at least one of Co, Zn, Mg, or Cu; x is 1 to 3; y is greater than 0 to 2; and z is 4 to 4. In another aspect, an article comprises the ferrite composition. In yet another aspect, method of making the ferrite composition comprises mixing ferrite precursor compounds comprising Fe, Ba, Co, and Ru; and sintering the ferrite precursor compounds in an oxygen atmosphere to form the RuCo.sub.2Z ferrite.

FERRITE SINTERED MAGNET

The present invention provides a ferrite sintered magnet comprising ferrite crystal grains having a hexagonal structure, wherein the ferrite sintered magnet comprises metallic elements at an atomic ratio represented by formula (1). In formula (1), R is at least one element selected from the group consisting of Bi and rare-earth elements, and R comprises at least La. In formula (1), w, x, z and m satisfy formulae (2) to (5). The above-mentioned ferrite sintered magnet further has a coefficient of variation of a size of the crystal grains in a section parallel to a c axis of less than 45%.

CERAMIC SINTERING

Herein discussed is a method of sintering a ceramic comprising (a) providing an electromagnetic radiation (EMR) source; (b) (i) providing a layer of intermixed ceramic particles and absorber particles, wherein the absorber particles have a volume fraction in the intermixed particles in the range of no less than 3%; or (ii) providing a first layer comprising ceramic particles and a second layer comprising absorber particles in contact with at least a portion of the first layer, wherein the second layer is farther from the EMR source than the first layer; (c) heating (i) the layer of intermixed particles or (ii) the first layer using EMR; and (d) controlling the EMR such that at least a portion of the ceramic particles are sintered wherein (i) the layer of intermixed particles becomes impermeable or (ii) the first layer becomes impermeable, wherein the absorber particles have greater EMR absorption than the ceramic particles.

Disclosed herein are embodiments of an enhanced resonant frequency hexagonal ferrite material and methods of manufacturing. The hexagonal ferrite material can be Y-phase hexagonal ferrite material, such as those including strontium. In some embodiments, oxides consistent with the stoichiometry of Sr.sub.3Co.sub.2Fe.sub.24O.sub.41, SrFe.sub.12O.sub.19 or CoFe.sub.2O.sub.4 can be used form an enhanced hexagonal ferrite material.

COMPOSITE HEXAGONAL FERRITE MATERIALS

Disclosed herein are embodiments of composite hexagonal ferrite materials formed from a combination of Y phase and Z phase hexagonal ferrite materials. Advantageously, embodiments of the material can have a high resonant frequency as well as a high permeability. In some embodiments, the materials can be useful for magnetodielectric antennas.

This ferrite sintered magnet 100 contains at least Fe, Ca, B, and Si, and contains B in an amount of 0.005 to 0.9 mass % in terms of B.sub.2O.sub.3, the two-crystal grain boundaries 6a and the multiple-crystal grain boundaries 6b contain Si and Ca, and in a cross-section parallel to a c-axis of the ferrite sintered magnet, when the number of multiple-crystal grain boundaries having a maximum length of 0.088 or more and less than 0.49 m per cross-sectional area of 76 m.sup.2 is P, P is 8 or more.

FERRITE SINTERED MAGNET, FERRITE PARTICLE, BONDED MAGNET AND ROTATING ELECTRIC MACHINE

This ferrite sintered magnet comprises ferrite phases having a magnetoplumbite type crystal structure. This magnet comprises an element R, an element M, Fe, Co, B, Mn and Cr, the element R is at least one element selected from rare earth elements including Y, the element M is at least one element selected from the group consisting of Ca, Sr and Ba, with Ca being an essential element, and when an atomic composition of metallic elements is represented by R.sub.1-xM.sub.xFe.sub.m-yCo.sub.y, x, y and m satisfy formulae:
