System and method for containment and organization of medical wire
A system for containment and organization of medical wire features a U-shaped clamp. A first ridged and grooved clamping block is located on a clamp first side posterior end and a second ridged and grooved clamping block is located on a clamp second side posterior end. A first side compression member is located on an inside surface of a clamp first side and a second side compression member is located on an inside surface of the clamp second side. An adjustable ratcheting lock attaches the clamp first side and the clamp second side. A first finger grip is located on an outside surface of the clamp first side and a second finger grip is located on an outside surface of the clamp second side. Medical wire is placed between the first side compression member and the second side compression member then the clamp is compressed against the medical wire.
Maxillary frenum clamping tool
The maxillary frenum clamping tool includes two articulating members, each of the members having a clamping end and a gripping end. The clamping ends of the articulating members are curved to retract the upper lip while clamping the maxillary labial frenum and have blunt tips to minimize damage to the surrounding tissue. Immediately below the blunt tips, each member defines a jaw section having a serrated inner edge. The outer edges of the jaw sections define guide indentations for guiding a curved suture needle. The gripping end of each member defines a finger loop and part of a ratcheting lock mechanism for locking the members at set positions. During use, the clamping too may be used to clamp the maxillary frenum with the jaw portions so that the clamped tissue can be easily sutured using the guide indentations.
A SURGICAL CLAMP FOR CLAMPING AN ORGAN
A surgical clamp for clamping an organ comprising: a first clamping member and a second clamping member each having a distal end and a proximal end; the first clamping member and second clamping member being connected to each other at their respective proximal ends and pivotally movable relative to each other between an open configuration and a closed configuration of the clamp; each of the first and second clamping members having one or more regions of curvature along its length; the first clamping member comprising a first tissue engaging portion having a first tissue engaging surface and the second clamping member comprising a second tissue engaging portion having a second tissue engaging surface; each of the first and second tissue engaging portions comprising an arrangement of teeth for engaging with the organ; wherein the first tissue engaging surface and the second tissue engaging surface are concave and oppose each other such that in the closed configuration, a gap is defined between the first and the second tissue engaging portions at an intermediate location along the respective first and second clamping members between their respective proximal and distal ends.
DEVICE FOR THE RETRACTION OF SOFT TISSUE IN A PATIENT UNDERGOING ARTHROSCOPIC SURGERY
A device for the retraction of soft tissue in a patient undergoing arthroscopic surgery, comprising a pulling element extending in its own main direction between a first end and a second end, the latter being fitted with a hooking body configured to pass through the soft tissue of a patient and engage in the soft tissue following the traction of the pulling element towards the first end. The device further comprises a presser body suitable to press on the skin of the patient and connectable to the pulling element in at least one operating position placed at a fixed distance from the second end, wherein the fixed distance is such as to define a housing for the layers of soft tissue of the patient engaged by the hooking body.
SURGICAL CLAMP
A surgical clamp including a pair of jaws, which may be used to ablate or create lesions in tissue. in an exemplary embodiment, the jaws are movable between an articulated position in which the jaws are separated and not parallel to one another, an opened position in which the jaws are separated and substantially parallel to one another, and a closed position in which the jaws are adjacent and substantially parallel to one another.
Attachable clamp for use with surgical instruments
An attachable clamp for use with a surgical instrument is disclosed. The attachable clamp comprises a body portion, a first jaw member, a second jaw member and an actuation mechanism. The body portion defines a longitudinal axis and has attachment members configured to attach to an elongate portion of a surgical instrument. Each of the first jaw member and second jaw member extends distally from the body portion. The actuation mechanism is disposed in mechanical cooperation with at least one of the first jaw member and the second jaw member. Actuation of the actuation mechanism moves at least one of the first and second jaw members between an approximated position and an open position with respect to the other jaw member.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR OPERATING AN END EFFECTOR
Systems and methods for operating an end effector include an end effector for grasping a material, a drive system coupled to the end effector, a user interface, and a processor. The processor is configured to actuate the drive system to clamp the material using the end effector and in response to detecting successful clamping of the material, display a timer on the user interface. The timer provides an indication of when conditions will be safe to proceed with stapling of the material clamped by the end effector.
SURGICAL INSTRUMENTS, GUIDES, AND METHODS OF USE
Disclosed is a clamp that has an actuation portion and an engagement portion coupled with the actuation portion by a coupling portion. The engagement portion includes a first arm having a first engagement element arranged at an end of the first arm, and a second arm having a second engagement element arranged at an end of the second arm. A surgical system is disclosed that includes a clamp with an actuation portion and an engagement portion having a first arm and a second arm. The system includes a cutting guide and a fixation device. A surgical method is disclosed that includes aligning a retention element; releasably coupling a surgical clamp with the retention element; manipulating an actuator; manipulating the surgical clamp; coupling a stabilization wire; reducing an angle between two bones; derotating a bone; inserting a second stabilization wire; making a cut to a bone; and implanting a fusion device.
Surgical clamp and clamp jaw
A surgical clamp jaw is disclosed, having an inner profile and a deflection control profile opposite the inner profile. In one embodiment, the inner profile has a first substantially concave profile in an unclamped position and a second substantially flat profile in a clamped position. In one embodiment, the deflection control profile has one or more sets of corresponding abutment surfaces, at least one set of which is not contacting each other when the inner profile is in the unclamped position and which is contacting each other when the inner profile is in the clamped position. In one embodiment, the surgical clamp jaw defines one or more flexion assistance voids, wherein at least one of the one or more flexion assistance voids is in contact with a gap between one of the one or more sets of corresponding abutment surfaces.
SIMPLIFIED VASECTOMY METHODS
Conventional vasectomy techniques suffer from a number of disadvantages and potential complications, including, for example, a substantial risk for the development of hematomas, swelling, and post-surgical pain, a potential for spontaneous regeneration and undesired resumption of fertility, a need for a highly skilled surgical professional, as well as a long recovery period, accompanied by severe limitations on post-surgical activity. The present invention overcomes the disadvantages and deficiencies of the prior art by providing vasectomy instruments, kits, and methods that allow for a rapid, reliable, less invasive male sterilization procedure that may be readily, reliably and successfully performed by minimally skilled personnel around the world in a variety of medical settings.
