MICROELECTRONIC DEVICE SUBSTRATE FORMED BY ADDITIVE PROCESS
A microelectronic device is formed by forming at least a portion of a substrate of the microelectronic device by one or more additive processes. The additive processes may be used to form semiconductor material of the substrate. The additive processes may also be used to form dielectric material structures or electrically conductive structures, such as metal structures, of the substrate. The additive processes are used to form structures of the substrate which would be costly or impractical to form using planar processes. In one aspect, the substrate may include multiple doped semiconductor elements, such as wells or buried layers, having different average doping densities, or depths below a component surface of the substrate. In another aspect, the substrate may include dielectric isolation structures with semiconductor material extending at least partway over and under the dielectric isolation structures. Other structures of the substrate are disclosed.
Hydrocarbon Conversion
The invention relates to hydrocarbon conversion, to equipment and materials useful for hydrocarbon conversion, and to processes for carrying out hydrocarbon conversion, e.g., hydrocarbon pyrolysis processes. The hydrocarbon conversion is carried out in a reactor which includes at least one channeled member that comprises refractory and has an open frontal area 55%. The refractory can include non-oxide ceramic.
Ceramic matrix composites made by chemical vapor infiltration and methods of manufacture thereof
The present disclosure relates to ceramic matrix composites made by chemical vapor infiltration, methods of making the ceramic matrix composites, and ceramic matrix composite turbine components for use in a hot gas pathway. A method of fabricating a ceramic matrix composite is provided that can include the steps of: (i) forming a plurality of holes in a ceramic matrix composite preform of desired shape; and (ii) densifying the preform by a chemical vapor infiltration process to form a part or most of the matrix. A ceramic matrix composite is also provided that can be used in hot combustion gases made according to the aforementioned ceramic matrix composite fabrication method described herein.
Process for producing ceramic fiber-reinforced composite material
To provide a process for producing a ceramic fiber-reinforced composite material, which suppresses the deterioration of an interface layer, improves mechanistic properties and has excellent durability even under a high temperature, even ceramic fibers formed of silicon carbide fibers are used, without complicating the production steps. To obtain a ceramic fiber-reinforced composite material, by melt-infiltrating a composite material substrate obtained by forming ceramic fibers, formed of silicon carbide fibers and having an amorphous structure, into a composite with a matrix formed of an inorganic substance, with an alloy having a composition that is constituted by a disilicide of at least one or more transition metal among transition metals selected from scandium, yttrium, titanium, zirconium, hafnium, and tantalum, and silicon as the remainder, and having the silicon content ratio of 66.7 at % or more and less than 90.0 at %.
SHAPING METHOD AND SHAPING DEVICE
An object shaping method includes a step of forming a powder layer using first powder, a step of placing second powder having an average particle diameter smaller than an average particle diameter of the first powder at a part of a region of the powder layer, and a first heating step of heating the powder layer in which the second powder is placed. The average particle diameter is equal to or larger than 1 nm and equal to or smaller than 500 nm, and the first heating step performs heating the powder layer at a temperature at which particles contained in the second powder are sintered or melted.
Engineered matrix self-healing composites
An engineered matrix is provided to blunt and self-heal matrix cracks to reduce oxygen ingress into a fiber reinforced composite.
Process for 3D printing
The present invention relates to a suspension comprising 50-95% by weight of the total suspension (w/w) of at least one metallic material and/or ceramic material and/or polymeric material and/or solid carbon containing material; and at least 5% by weight of the total suspension of one or more fatty acids or derivatives thereof. In addition, the invention relates to uses of such suspension in 3D printing processes.
