MEDICAL DEVICE AND METHOD FOR TREATMENT
A medical device designed to be inserted into a lumen of a living body so as to block a flow of fluid in the lumen of the living body. The medical device includes: a long shaft part; an expandable part; and a covering part. The expandable part is an elastically deformable cylindrical body, and the cylindrical body having a proximal part connected to the shaft part. The covering part takes on a cylindrical shape and is flexible and deformable independently of the expandable part, and the cylindrical shape has a proximal part connected to a proximal part of the expandable part or connected to the shaft part located at a proximal side with respect to the expandable part. The covering part defines a space in the radial direction between a distal side end part of the cylindrical shape and the expandable part.
Method and system for performing interspinous space preparation for receiving an implant
A method and system are provided for preparing an interspinous space to receive an implantable device. The system may comprise a cutting tool guide having a guiding surface for directing a cutting tool therethrough and a holder for positioning the cutting tool guide relative to the interspinous space. The holder may be configured to adjustably attach to at least one of a pair of spinous processes defining the interspinous space.
TISSUE REMOVAL DEVICE
A tissue removal device includes a housing, a catheter extending from the housing and configured to be inserted into the body of a patient, a bending unit including a plurality of bending blocks that is disposed at a front end portion of the catheter and at least one or more wires that control a motion direction of the bending blocks, and a tissue removal unit disposed at the front end portion of the catheter and configured to come in contact with a tissue to be removed.
MEDICAL DEVICE
A medical device is disclosed for cutting an object in a living body lumen. The medical device includes a rotatable elongate member, rotating member having a cutting portion cutting the object and disposed on the distal end side of the elongate member for rotating together with rotation of the elongate member; and a distal member having a guide portion disposed on the distal end side of the rotating member with a space left from the rotating member and a supporting portion which supports the guide portion and defines a dimension of the space in an axial direction of the elongate member. The guide portion is disposed at a position at which the guide portion overlaps with part of the cutting portion and exposes part of the cutting portion as viewed from the distal end side of the distal member.
ROTARY-DRIVEN SURGICAL STAPLING ASSEMBLY COMPRISING A FLOATABLE COMPONENT
A surgical stapling assembly is disclosed. The surgical stapling assembly can include a first jaw, a second jaw, an articulation joint, a closure drive comprising a first flexible rotary drive extending through the articulation joint, and a firing drive comprising a second flexible rotary drive extending through the articulation joint and rotatable independent of the first flexible rotary drive. The surgical stapling assembly can further include a 3D-printed component. The surgical stapling assembly can be configured to form different staple shapes, such as non-planar staples and planar staples, can include an eccentrically-driven firing assembly, and/or can include a floatable component. The surgical stapling assembly can include a staple cartridge including a longitudinal support beam.
COLPOTOMY SYSTEM FOR TOTAL LAPAROSCOPIC HYSTERECTOMY
A colpotomy system includes a surgical instrument having a cutting element and a receiver at a distal end thereof and a uterine instrument. The uterine instrument has a handle operably coupled to a shaft having a balloon at a distal end thereof, the shaft extending through a retaining member to access a surgical site, the retaining member including a plurality of transmitters for transmitting at least one signal. A distance between the cutting element of the surgical instrument and one end of the retaining member of the uterine instrument is calculated to determine whether the cutting element is within a predetermined operating zone.
CARTILAGE TRIMMERS AND ASSOCIATED METHODS
A cartilage trimmer according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, inter alia, a guide pin connected to a cutter with a blade projecting from only one side of the guide pin.
Apparatus for endoscopic procedures
The present disclosure provides for a surgical device. The surgical device includes a jaw assembly and a camera assembly coupled to the jaw assembly. The camera assembly includes a camera housing defining an interior space having at least one opening on a side thereof, first and second support arms pivotally coupled within the camera housing and deployable therefrom, and a camera body coupled to the first and second support arms and moveable between a first position, in which the camera body is positioned within the interior space of the camera housing, and a second position, in which the camera body extends from the at least one opening of the camera assembly.
Staple cartridge comprising an implantable layer
A surgical end effector comprising a staple cartridge, an anvil, and a compressible portion intermediate the staple cartridge and the anvil is disclosed. The compressible portion comprises a plurality of tubular members.
Surgical stapling and cutting device
A surgical device comprising an instrument shaft having a proximal end and a distal end, a control handle connected to the proximal end of the instrument shaft, a surgical end effector connected to the distal end of the instrument shaft at a joint, wherein the surgical end effector is configured to articulate, at the joint and with respect to the instrument shaft, about an articulation axis, and wherein the surgical end effector had a pull-to-release articulation lock configured to retain the joint in a fixed position and the control handle has an articulation lock actuator that is configured to, when actuated, release the articulation lock.
