Expandable Ready Mix Joint Compound Formulation and Method of Making Same
A joint compound system includes a drying type ready mix joint compound and a gas generation ingredient added to the ready mix joint compound just prior to use. In some aspects, the gas generation ingredient includes sodium percarbonate. In an aspect, the formulation includes a peroxide stabilizer. The peroxide stabilizer can include sodium silicate. The use of the gas generation ingredient and peroxide stabilizer create an extended period of gas generation, leading to an expansion of the mix joint compound during application, which reduces shrinkage after application, and eliminates the needs for multiple coatings.
Enhanced adhesive drywall finish and joint compound and method of use
The present invention relates to an improved drywall finish and joint compound comprised of a mixture of fractured aluminum oxide, glass bead, calcium sulfate, calcium carbonate, magnesium aluminum phyllosilicate, aluminum silicate hydroxide, polyvinyl acetate, polyvinyl alcohol, metamorphic mineral, sodium bicarbonate, silicon and aluminides, talc, kaolin, and metal oxide. The improved drywall finish and joint compound is capable of adhering to drywall, wood, concrete, brick, stone, steel, and other surfaces, and can be applied using a conventional trowel or similar device, cures quickly, and eliminates the need for taping and bedding. The compound saves extensive time and labor when installing, repairing, or working with drywall.
QUICK-DRYING BUILDING MATERIAL COMPOSITION BASED ON A MINERAL HYBRID BINDER
A quick-drying gypsum composition, in particular for use as gypsum filling compound and for the production of floor coverings, wherein the gypsum composition contains 20 to 70% of a mixture of calcium aluminate and calcium sulfate hemihydrate and/or anhydrite and/or calcium sulfate dihydrate as hydraulic binders and 30 to 80% by weight of fillers, and wherein the weight ratio of calcium aluminate to calcium sulfate hemihydrate and/or anhydrite and/or calcium sulfate dihydrate binders lies in the range from 1:1 to 1:5. Gypsum compositions of this type are characterized by a particularly beneficial shrinkage behavior, such that stresses and cracks in the dried composition can be avoided. At the same time, the gypsum compositions dry to readiness for covering in a time that is compatible with conventional cement filling compounds.
GYPSUM FILLER BASED JOINT COMPOUND WITH LOW COEFFICIENT OF FRICTION
A drying-type joint compound and related methods, the drying-type joint compound having a lowered friction coefficient and formulated with gypsum powder having the median particle size (D50) of at least about 20 m, preferably the gypsum powder has a D10 greater than 5 m, wherein the drying-type joint compound further comprises a binder; one or more clays; a cellulosic thickener; and an additive.
SYNTHETIC GYPSUM FILLER BASED JOINT COMPOUND WITH LOW COEFFICIENT OF FRICTION
A drying-type joint compound and related methods, the drying-type joint compound having a lowered friction coefficient and formulated with chloride-containing flue-gas-desulfurization (FGD) gypsum powder having the median particle size (D50) of at least about 20 m, preferably the chloride-containing FGD gypsum powder having a D10 greater than 5 m, wherein the drying-type joint compound further comprises a binder; one or more clays; a cellulosic thickener; and an additive.
Method of making a sprayable setting type compound
A method of making a setting type compound by injecting an activator compound into a plaster compound wherein the activator compound tube is coaxial and within the plaster compound tube, each at the same flowrate, the same pressure and the same viscosity. The cross sectional transverse areas of an annulus containing the plaster compound and the hole in the annulus containing the activator compound are the same.
Composition for a very durable pasty fill and finishing material, pasty fill and finishing material, and method for producing it
The invention relates to a composition for a pasty fill and finishing material, a pasty fill and finishing material, and a method for producing a pasty fill and finishing material. The composition comprises at least one filler, at least one binding agent, and additives, wherein the at least one binding agent comprises an organic polymer and hydroxyethyl cellulose, and wherein the at least one filler is a lamellar silicate material.
Gypsum cement with reduced permeability
A cellular glass insulation system for an outer surface of a structure or pipe. The insulation system includes multiple segments of cellular glass. An adhesive having a reduced permeability is provided at the interface between the individual cellular glass segments and is configured to limit water intrusion that might cause corrosion of the structure or pipe.
Solvent cement formulations
Provided are solvent cement formulations that include cyclopentanone, one or more additional solvents, and at least one resin. The formulations can contain a high concentration of dissolved resin, which confers beneficial properties and enables the use of the formulations for bonding large diameter piping components.
