Cementitious reagents, methods of manufacturing and uses thereof
Described are cementitious reagent materials produced from globally abundant inorganic feedstocks. Also described are methods for the manufacture of such cementitious reagent materials and forming the reagent materials as microspheroidal glassy particles. Also described are apparatuses, systems and methods for the thermochemical production of glassy cementitious reagents with spheroidal morphology. The apparatuses, systems and methods makes use of an in-flight melting/quenching technology such that solid particles are flown in suspension, melted in suspension, and then quenched in suspension. The cementitious reagents can be used in concrete to substantially reduce the CO.sub.2 emission associated with cement production.
DENSITY ENHANCEMENT METHODS AND COMPOSITIONS
The present invention relates to granular composite density enhancement, and related methods and compositions. The applications where these properties are valuable include but are not limited to: 1) additive manufacturing (“3D printing”) involving metallic, ceramic, cermet, polymer, plastic, or other dry or solvent-suspended powders or gels, 2) concrete materials, 3) solid propellant materials, 4) cermet materials, 5) granular armors, 6) glass-metal and glass-plastic mixtures, and 7) ceramics comprising (or manufactured using) granular composites.

Spherical Fused Silica Compositions for Injection Molded Ceramic Cores and Methods of Making Parts Using Such Compositions
A single crystal ceramic core composition has an inorganic portion and an organic portion. The inorganic portion makes up about 85% by weight of the total weight of the ceramic core composition, and the organic portion makes up about 15% by weight of the total weight of the ceramic core composition. The inorganic portion includes about 94 to 98% by weight spherical fused silica, and about 2 to 6% by weight zircon flour. The organic portion includes about 84 to 88% by weight binder, about 1 to 2% by weight dye, about 6 to 12% by weight surfactant, and about 1 to 5% by weight polymeric fiber.

The present invention is directed toward an additive manufacturing method for manufacturing silica-based structures that have a low linear cure shrinkage percentage and an ultra-low coefficient of thermal expansion. The structure may be constructed with a powder mixture that contains at least a first set of silica-based particles that are spherical and that have a first size, and a second set of submicron silica-based particles that are jagged, spherical, or both jagged and spherical. The silica-based powder mixture may be combined with a surfactant in order to create a slurry that can be used to create a 3D printed structure that has a low linear cure shrinkage percentage and an ultra-low coefficient of thermal expansion.
