In S13, the three-dimensional object degreased in the second degreasing step is sintered at an average sintering temperature higher than T2 to obtain a sintered product.

Disclosed is a cordierite sintered body comprising from 90 to 98% by volume of a cordierite crystal phase as measured using x ray diffraction, SEM and image processing methods wherein the cordierite sintered body has at least one surface comprising pores having a diameter of from 0.1 to 5 um as measured using SEM and image processing methods. The cordierite sintered body has a Young's modulus of about 125 GPa or greater, and volumetric porosity of less than about 4%. Methods of making the cordierite sintered body are also disclosed.

A method of fabricating a fiber preform filled with refractory ceramic particles, includes placing a fiber texture including refractory ceramic fibers in a mold cavity; injecting a slip including a powder of refractory ceramic particles present in a liquid medium, the slip being injected into the pores of the fiber texture present in the mold cavity, injection being performed through at least a first face or a first edge of the fiber texture; and draining the liquid medium of the slip that has penetrated into the fiber texture through the porous material part, the draining being performed at least through a second face or a second edge of the fiber texture different from the first face or the first edge, the porous material part also serving to retain the refractory particle powder in the pores of the fiber texture to obtain a fiber preform filled with refractory particles.

Disclosed herein are methods for preparing a titanate compound powder comprising titanate compound particles having a controlled particle size and/or particle size distribution. The methods include mixing at least one first inorganic compound chosen from sources of a first metal or metal oxide, at least one second inorganic compound chosen from sources of titania, and at least one binder to form a mixture; calcining the mixture to form a polycrystalline material comprising a plurality of titanate compound grains and a plurality of micro-cracks; and breaking the polycrystalline material along at least a portion of the microcracks. Also disclosed are titanate compound powders having a controlled particle size distribution, ceramic batch compositions comprising the powders, and ceramic articles prepared from the batch compositions.

A manufacturing method for a ceramic core includes: preparing an injection molding composition by mixing ceramic powder and a binder; manufacturing a ceramic compact by performing the injection molding of the injection molding composition; and manufacturing a ceramic core by sintering the ceramic compact, wherein cumulative percentage of coarse powder with a particle diameter of more than 50 μm included in the ceramic powder is 30% or less on an integrated volume particle size distribution curve of the ceramic powder.
