MANUFACTURING SYSTEM, PROCESS, ARTICLE, AND FURNACE
A manufacturing system includes a tape advancing through the manufacturing system and a station of the manufacturing system. The tape includes a first portion having grains of an inorganic material bound by an organic binder. The station of the manufacturing system receives the first portion of the tape and prepares the tape for sintering by chemically changing the organic binder and/or removing the organic binder from the first portion of the tape, leaving the grains of the inorganic material, to form a second portion of the tape and, at least in part, prepare the tape for sintering.
PREPARATION OF CERAMIC DOUGHS THROUGH COAGULATION, FOR GREEN MACHINING
A mixture comprising a linear copolymer comprising acrylic acid and 2-acrylamido-2-methyl propane sulfonic acid, water and one or more metal oxide ceramic nanoparticles with a mean particle size of up to 100 nanometers, preferably up to 60 nanometers, more preferably within the range between 20 nanometers and 60 nanometers, e.g., 40 nm. The mixture can be used in formation of doughs which are suitable for green machining. Molar ratio between acrylic acid and 2-acrylamido-2-methyl propane sulfonic acid in the copolymer can optionally be within the range between 0.8:1 and 1:0.8. In the mixture, the linear copolymer can be present at a concentration within an optional range between 1 wt. % and 2 wt. % based on total solid content. In the mixture, the one or more metal oxide ceramic nanoparticles can be present at a concentration within an optional range between 60 wt. % and 70 wt. %.
Sanitary ware
Disclosed is a sanitary ware compatibly satisfying both low water absorption and weight reduction. The sanitary ware has a pottery substrate of a vitreous body and a glaze layer, in which part of the substrate is exposed to outside thereof without the glaze layer; the substrate has (A) an anorthite and (B) an alkali metal component; and an amount of the alkali metal component is in the range of 5 to 10% by weight in terms of an oxide conversion (A.sub.2O) relative to the substrate. This sanitary ware has the properties of low water absorption and light weight.
Method of coloring multi-layered pre-sintered dental restoration
A method of coloring a pre-sintered dental restoration comprises securing a pre-sintered dental restoration having multiple different layers having a different chemical composition of color pigments between adjacent layers; dipping the pre-sintered dental restoration into a coloring liquid, and sintering the pre-sintered dental restoration to acquire a fully sintered ceramic restoration having a translucency and color intensity/chroma with an inverse relationship with the translucency increasing in one direction of the restoration and the color intensity/chroma decreasing in the same direction of the restoration.
PRECAST REFRACTORY BLOCK FOR COKE OVEN
A precast refractory block for a coke oven having high hot strength and stable under-load expansion/shrinkage behavior at high temperatures. Specifically, a silica-based precast refractory block contains a P.sub.2O.sub.5 component in an amount of 0.3 to 2.0 mass %.
CERAMIC MIXTURE PASTE, POROUS BODY, ELECTROSTATIC CHUCK, AND SUBSTRATE FIXING DEVICE
A ceramic mixture paste includes oxide ceramic particles, burn-off particles, and a firing aid. The burn-off particles are burned off at a temperature lower than the firing temperature of the oxide ceramic particles. The firing aid melts at a temperature lower than the firing temperature. The ratio of the volume of the burn-off particles to the volume of the oxide ceramic particles is more than 0% and less than or equal to 20%.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR FOUR-DIMENSIONAL PRINTING OF CERAMIC ORIGAMI STRUCTURES
A system and method of constructing a 4D-printed ceramic object includes extruding inks including particles and polymeric ceramic precursors through a nozzle to deposit the inks on a heating plate, whereby a 3D-printed elastomeric object is formed on the heating plate, folding the 3D-printed elastomeric object into a complex structure to form a 4D-printed pre-strained elastomeric object, and converting the 4D-printed elastomeric object into the 4D-printed ceramic object.
CBS-based LTCC material and preparation method thereof
Disclosed is a CBS-based low-temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) material, and a preparation method thereof. The material has, as a main component, a sintered phase of low dielectric constant of CaSiO.sub.3 and CaB.sub.2O.sub.4, and comprises CBS and a dopant. The CBS comprises, by weight, 30-40% of CaO, 15-30% of B.sub.2O.sub.3, and 40-50% of SiO.sub.2, and the dopant comprises 0-2% of P.sub.2O.sub.5, 0-2% of nanometer CuO, and 0.5-2% of nanometer V.sub.2O.sub.5. The preparation method comprises mixing oxides including a CBS-based dielectric ceramic as a base and one or two of P.sub.2O.sub.5 and CuO as an initial dopant, and then adding V.sub.2O.sub.5 as a final sintering aid, to prepare the material. In the present invention, a CBS-based LTCC material that is obtained by sintering at a low temperature and has the advantages of low dielectric constant, low loss, and good overall performance is provided.
