Method of producing three-dimensional object and production apparatus used therefor

A three-dimensional object is obtained by repeating multiple times forming a ceramic powder layer formed of a ceramic powder and applying to a desired region of the ceramic powder layer a liquid precursor composition at least containing at least any one of a metal alkoxide, a metal chloride, a hydrolysate of the metal alkoxide and a polycondensate of the hydrolysate, and water, thereby obtaining a laminated body; subsequently heating the laminated body at a temperature lower than the sintering temperature of the ceramic powder; and removing the ceramic particle in a region to which the precursor composition has not been applied.

THREE-DIMENSIONAL PRINTING OF MULTILAYER CERAMIC MISSILE RADOMES BY USING INTERLAYER TRANSITION MATERIALS

Production of multilayered ceramic missile radomes with wide frequency band and high electromagnetic permeability through three-dimensional printing technology and the use of glass inter-layer materials to minimize defects caused by thermo-mechanical incompatibility of adjacent layers during sintering are provided. The three dimensional printing of the multilayered ceramic missile radomes provide an automated, operator-independent and repeatable manufacturing technique to produce wide band ceramic missile radomes.

Ceramic matrix composite vane with cooling holes and methods of making the same

An airfoil for a gas turbine engine is made from ceramic matrix composite materials. The airfoil has an inner surface that defines a cooling cavity in the body and an outer surface that defines a leading edge, a trailing edge, a pressure side, and a suction side of the body. The airfoil is formed with a hollow tube that extends through the body to define a cooling passage that extends from the cooling cavity through the airfoil to provide fluid communication between the cooling cavity and a gas path environment surrounding the airfoil.

METHOD OF PRESSURE SINTERING AN ENVIRONMENTAL BARRIER COATING ON A SURFACE OF A CERAMIC SUBSTRATE
