IMPLANTED ARTICLE PHYSICAL REFERENCING APPARATUS

An implanted article physical referencing apparatus comprises a guide body, a first guide shaft and a second guide shaft. The guide body includes a plurality of guide shaft receptacles therein. A longitudinal axis of each of the guide shaft receptacles extends substantially parallel to a longitudinal reference axis of the guide body. The first and second guide shafts each have a proximate end portion and a distal end portion. The proximate end portion of the first guide shaft includes an exterior surface adapted for being engaged with a corresponding interior surface of a selected one of the guide shaft receptacles to constrain unrestricted relative movement between the first guide shaft and the guide body. The proximate end portion of the second guide shaft is attached to the guide body. A longitudinal axis of the second guide shaft extends substantially parallel to the longitudinal reference axis of the guide body.

Self-expanding devices and methods therefor

Described here are delivery devices for delivering one or more implants to the body, and methods of using. The delivery devices may deliver implants to a variety of locations within the body, for a number of different uses. In some variations, the delivery devices have a cannula with one or more curved sections. In some variations, a pusher may be used to release one or more implants from the cannula. In some variations, one or more of the released implants may be a self-expanding device. Methods of delivering implants to one or more sinus cavities are also described here.

Systems and methods to repair tissue defects

Methods of bioprinting a bio-ink construct on an internal tissue defect or a chondral defect during a minimally invasive surgery on an individual in need thereof are provided, comprising: visualizing the defect; positioning a bioprinter comprising a printhead within proximity of or in contact with the defect; and ejecting a bio-ink from the printhead onto the defect to form a bio-ink layer, thereby generating a bio-ink construct. Further provided are systems for bioprinting a bio-ink construct on an internal tissue defect during a minimally invasive surgery on an individual in need thereof, comprising a control system, an endoscope, and a bioprinter comprising a printhead.

Systems and methods for making and using an electrical stimulation system with a case-neutral battery

A control module for an electrical stimulation system includes a sealed electronics housing; an electronic subassembly disposed within the electronics housing; one or more connector assemblies coupled to the electronic subassembly; and a rechargeable battery disposed external to the electronics housing. The one or more connector assemblies are configured to receive a lead. The rechargeable battery includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a single battery case attached directly to the sealed electronics housing and forming a sealed cavity that encapsulates both the positive electrode and the negative electrode. The battery case is electrically isolated from each of the positive electrode and the battery electrode.

Circulatory Support Pump Centering Anchoring & Centering Device

Embodiments in the present disclosure relate to an anchoring and centering device for a circulatory support pump. An exemplary apparatus comprises an expandable anchoring device extending along a longitudinal axis, wherein the expandable anchoring device is arranged about a central axis. A distal portion of the expandable anchoring device defines an annulus through which the cardiac pump can be arranged and to which the cardiac pump can be releasable coupled. A proximal portion of the expandable anchoring device is configured to circumferentially expand to an unconstrained configuration that has a cross-sectional diameter greater than a diameter of the annulus. The exemplary apparatus also includes a constraining member arranged over the expandable anchoring device to constrain the expandable anchoring device in a constrained configuration for delivery of the anchoring apparatus.

Multiple spinal surgical pathways systems and methods

A method facilitates the treatment of the spine of a patient by providing simultaneous access through at least a first opening and a second opening formed in the patient. For example, the method can include the acts of positioning the patient on a surgical table, providing the first opening into a posterior portion of the patient, providing the second opening into a lateral portion of the patient, inserting a first device through the first opening into the patient to contact the spine in a first direction that is transverse to the coronal plane of the patient, and inserting a second device through the second opening into the patient to contact the spine in a second direction that is transverse to the sagittal plane of the patient, where the first and second openings are accessible simultaneously, and, when the first and second devises are inserted into the patient, the position of the patient is stationary with respect to a portion of the table.
