Devices, systems and methods for treating benign prostatic hyperplasia and other conditions

Devices, systems and methods for compressing, cutting, incising, reconfiguring, remodeling, attaching, repositioning, supporting, dislocating or altering the composition of tissues or anatomical structures to alter their positional or force relationship to other tissues or anatomical structures. In some applications, the invention may be used to used to improve patency or fluid flow through a body lumen or cavity (e.g., to limit constriction of the urethra by an enlarged prostate gland).

Percutaneous electrode

Disclosed is a system including an electrode and a stylet configured to steer the electrode towards its intended position during implantation, and a method for such system's use. An electrode is provided having regions with varied flexibility. A stylet having bends that are indexed to specific regions of flexibility of the electrode may be inserted into the electrode, and upon minimal radial and/or longitudinal movement of the stylet within the electrode, will cause the magnitude of the angle to which the lead is bent to either increase or decrease so as to aid the operator in placement of the electrode.

NONSURGICAL METHODS FOR NASAL MODIFICATION INCLUDING NASAL TIP ELEVATION AND/OR ELONGATION
20230077040 · 2023-03-09 ·

Nonsurgical methods of modifying at least a portion of a nose of a subject, such as a tip of the nose of the subject, are provided herein. The method can include performing one or more of a first injection of a first filler composition and a second injection of a second filler composition. The first injection includes depositing the first filler composition in a first region defined as a septal space behind a middle crura and a medial crura of the nose, substantially level and/or above an anterior nasal spine of the nose, and in front of a caudal septal cartilage of the nose. The second injection includes depositing the second filler composition in a second region defined as the septal space behind the middle crura and the medial crura of the nose substantially level with the footplates of the nose and the columella segment of the medial crura of the nose.

Bipolar radiofrequency ablation systems for treatment within bone

System and methods for channeling a path into bone include a trocar having a proximal end, distal end and a central channel disposed along a central axis of the trocar. The trocar includes a distal opening at the distal end of the trocar. The system includes a curved cannula sized to be received in the central channel, the curved cannula comprising a curved distal end configured to be extended outward from the distal opening to generate a curved path extending away from the trocar. The curved cannula has a central passageway having a diameter configured to allow a treatment device to be delivered through the central passageway to a location beyond the curved path.

Invaginating device

An invaginating device includes an inner elongate member and an outer flexible tube with invaginated axial ends. The outer flexible tube is: disposed at a first axial end of the inner elongate member; concentric with the inner elongate member; sized to provide a radial gap there between; sealably connected at the axial ends of the outer flexible tube to the inner elongate member, with the axial spacing between such sealed axial ends being less than the axial length of the outer tube; and extendable to protrude from the first axial end of the inner elongate member and retractable to reduce such protrusion from the first axial end of the inner elongate member. Fluid contained within the radial gap defined between the inner elongate member and the outer flexible tube is either pressurized or a non-compressible fluid. An actuator is: movable relative to the inner elongate member; and engageable with the outer flexible tube to extend the outer flexible tube relative to the first axial end of the inner elongate member.

Trocar Device and System and Method for Monitoring Navigation of the Trocar Device
20230130240 · 2023-04-27 ·

An improved trocar device or instrument configured for single or multiple uses is disclosed. The improved trocar device has a novel flexible surgical assembly including an introducer component or a handle with scissor-like members with a channel formed within to accommodate a shaft component that slides within the channel. The introducer component may be squeezed or compressed to cause a locking mechanism to engage the shaft component to secure it and maintain it steady near the active area of the surgical procedure. The improved trocar device or instrument is coupled to a monitoring system for automatically monitoring the penetration route and behavior of the trocar device held by a robotic arm or a surgeon to assist either one with navigating the trocar shaft into a patient's body.

Bundle of his lead delivery catheter, system and method

A catheter for delivering a medical electrical lead to a bundle of His from within a right atrium of a heart. The catheter includes a straight portion and a hook portion projecting from a distal end of the straight portion. The hook portion includes a first curved portion, a second curved portion, and a third curved portion. The straight portion and the first curved portion define a plane. The second curved portion extends from a distal end of the first curved portion. The second curved portion curves away from the plane. The third curved portion extends from a distal end of the second curved portion. The third curved portion curves toward the plane. The catheter forms a lumen extending from a proximal end of the straight portion to an opening at a distal end of the third curved portion.

Catheter systems with imaging assemblies

A catheter system comprises an elongate catheter body including a distal end, a cannulation lumen extending through the catheter body and terminating at the distal end of the catheter body, and a steering element extending through the catheter body for steering the distal end. The catheter system also comprises an imaging element secured to a distal end portion of the catheter body and configured to obtain optical images of an area located distally of the distal end of the catheter body. The catheter body includes a ridge extending axially along an outer surface of the distal end portion, wherein a width of the ridge measured about a circumference of the catheter body is less than a length of the ridge measured along the longitudinal axis, and the imaging element is radially aligned with the ridge with at least a portion of the imaging element disposed within the ridge.

Computer-assisted tele-operated surgery systems and methods

Systems and methods for minimally invasive tele-surgery are described. For example, the disclosure describes methods for independently controlling motions of the robotic manipulator, cannula, and surgical instrument in various surgical contexts.
