Described herein is method of making branched perfluorinated compounds, specifically (CF.sub.3).sub.2CFCF(CF.sub.3)OCF(CF.sub.3)C(═O)F and (CF.sub.3).sub.2CFCF(CF.sub.3)OCF═CF.sub.2. Also disclosed herein is a fluoropolymer derived from the branched perfluorovinyl ether monomer and methods of making the fluoropolymer.

Described herein is method of making branched perfluorinated compounds, specifically (CF.sub.3).sub.2CFCF(CF.sub.3)OCF(CF.sub.3)C(═O)F and (CF.sub.3).sub.2CFCF(CF.sub.3)OCF═CF.sub.2. Also disclosed herein is a fluoropolymer derived from the branched perfluorovinyl ether monomer and methods of making the fluoropolymer.
FLUORINATED ALKOXYVINYL ETHERS AND METHODS FOR PREPARING FLUORINATED ALKOXYVINYL ETHERS
An alkoxyvinyl ether is disclosed having the chemical structure R.sub.fC(OR)═CHR.sub.f′, wherein R.sub.f is an at least partially fluorinated functional group having at least one carbon atom, R.sub.f′ is an at least partially fluorinated functional group having at least two carbon atoms, and R is a functional group. A method for preparing an alkoxyvinyl ether is disclosed, comprising R.sub.fCFHCFHR.sub.f′+KOH/ROH.fwdarw.R.sub.fC(OR)═CHR.sub.f′, wherein R.sub.f is a perfluoro functional group, R.sub.f′ is a perfluoro functional group, and R is an alkyl functional group. Another method for preparing an alkoxyvinyl ether is disclosed, comprising R.sub.fCF═CHR.sub.f′+KOH/ROH.fwdarw.R.sub.fC(OR)═CHR.sub.f′, wherein R.sub.f is a perfluoro functional group, R.sub.f′ is a perfluoro functional group, and R is an alkyl functional group.
FLUORINATED ALKOXYVINYL ETHERS AND METHODS FOR PREPARING FLUORINATED ALKOXYVINYL ETHERS
An alkoxyvinyl ether is disclosed having the chemical structure R.sub.fC(OR)═CHR.sub.f′, wherein R.sub.f is an at least partially fluorinated functional group having at least one carbon atom, R.sub.f′ is an at least partially fluorinated functional group having at least two carbon atoms, and R is a functional group. A method for preparing an alkoxyvinyl ether is disclosed, comprising R.sub.fCFHCFHR.sub.f′+KOH/ROH.fwdarw.R.sub.fC(OR)═CHR.sub.f′, wherein R.sub.f is a perfluoro functional group, R.sub.f′ is a perfluoro functional group, and R is an alkyl functional group. Another method for preparing an alkoxyvinyl ether is disclosed, comprising R.sub.fCF═CHR.sub.f′+KOH/ROH.fwdarw.R.sub.fC(OR)═CHR.sub.f′, wherein R.sub.f is a perfluoro functional group, R.sub.f′ is a perfluoro functional group, and R is an alkyl functional group.

A fluorinated ether compound which has a first partial structure represented by the following formula (1) and a second partial structure represented by the following formula (2), and which has at least five first partial structures, or has at least two second partial structures:

wherein R.sup.f12 is a C.sub.1-6 fluoroalkylene group, and R.sup.f13 is a group having a fluorinated cyclic structure which may have a hetero atom.

A composition including a compound having structural formula (I): R.sub.f is a linear or branched perfluoroalkyl group having 1-3 atoms; n is 0-2; x is 1-3; and R.sub.f′ and R.sub.f″ are (i) independently, a linear or branched perfluoroalkyl group having 1-8 carbon atoms; or (ii) are bonded together to form a ring structure having 4-8 carbon atoms. The composition further includes a hydrocarbon contaminant.

A composition including a compound having structural formula (I): R.sub.f is a linear or branched perfluoroalkyl group having 1-3 atoms; n is 0-2; x is 1-3; and R.sub.f′ and R.sub.f″ are (i) independently, a linear or branched perfluoroalkyl group having 1-8 carbon atoms; or (ii) are bonded together to form a ring structure having 4-8 carbon atoms. The composition further includes a hydrocarbon contaminant.
