Colpotomy cup assembly
A medical device for performing a hysterectomy is provided. The medical device has a tissue incision assembly that includes a first cup nested within a second cup. The tissue incision assembly also includes a spacer assembly between the first cup and the second cup in order to maintain a spacing between the first and second cups. The tissue incision assembly also has a cutting implement that has a portion extending between, and movable with respect to, the first and second cups. The cutting implement can provide a circular cut guided via the spacing between the first and second cups.
Robotically controlled uterine manipulator with articulation
An apparatus includes a shaft including a distal shaft end. At least a portion of the shaft defines a first axis. The apparatus also includes a sleeve slidably coupled to the shaft. The sleeve includes a distal sleeve end. The apparatus further includes a colpotomy cup fixedly secured to the distal sleeve end, and a movable member extending distally from the distal shaft end. The movable member is configured to move relative to the shaft between a first state in which the movable member extends substantially along the first axis and a second state in which the movable member extends at least partially along a second axis transverse to the first axis for manipulating an anatomical structure.
UTERINE MANIPULATORS AND RELATED COMPONENTS AND METHODS
A method of positioning a uterine manipulator within a patient includes applying a deforming force to a colpotomizer cup of the uterine manipulator to adjust the colpotomizer cup from a nominal width configuration to a reduced width configuration, inserting the colpotomizer cup into a vaginal canal of the patient while the colpotomizer cup is in the reduced width configuration, removing the deforming force from the colpotomizer cup to allow the colpotomizer cup to expand from the reduced width configuration to the nominal width configuration, and positioning the colpotomizer cup about a cervix of the patient while the colpotomizer cup is in the nominal width configuration.
VAGINAL SURGICAL APPARATUS
This invention relates generally to a medical device, and more specifically, to a vaginal surgical apparatus. In one embodiment, an apparatus includes, a vaginal manipulator probe that is at least partly insertable into a vagina, the vaginal manipulator probe including an end portion that includes a bullous tip and that includes a space that accommodates a cervix therewithin; and at least one prominence incorporated with the vaginal manipulator probe operable to assist with identifying one or more positions of at least one anatomical structure or orienting the vaginal manipulator probe.
Systems and methods for a dynamic manipulator holder
Embodiments systems and methods for a platform that is configured to hold a medical device. In embodiments, a physician, nurse, medical practitioner, etc. may perform actions to change the positioning and orientation of the medical device while the medical device is secured to the platform. In further embodiments, the platform may include robotic components configured to change the positioning and orientation of the medical device.
MAGNARETRACTOR SYSTEM AND METHOD
A system and method for performing surgical procedures within a body cavity, e.g. abdomen, uses a magnetized device is utilized to allow a surgeon to control intra-abdominal organs and objects. The system and method allows a surgeon to perform an intra-abdominal procedure without the need to position surgical tools inside of the body cavity. Additional surgical ports are not necessary as the magnetized device allows the surgeon to retract or position various objects within the abdomen.
DEVICE FOR USE IN HYSTEROSCOPY
A device for visualization of internal tissue of a patient's uterus having a hand-held control unit, an elongated member, and an image capturing tip. To increase the manoeuvrability of the image capturing tip, the elongated member forms a straight portion extending along a straight axis and a curved portion forming a curvature away from the straight axis, the curved portion being between the image capturing tip and the straight portion. By rotation of an inner tube in an outer tube, the image capturing structure will move along a circular path without being rotated about the centre axis of the elongated member.
UTERINE MANIPULATOR
A uterine manipulator device includes: an elongated cannulated tube having proximal and distal ends, a cervical cup positioned on the elongated cannulated tube with a top distal portion of a first diameter and a base proximal portion of a second smaller diameter, and an occluder assembly comprising an occluder positioned proximally from the cervical cup on the elongated cannulated tube, the occluder having a body with at least one primary rib and at least two secondary ribs, wherein a diameter of at least one secondary rib is smaller than the diameter of the primary rib.
Electrosurgical element and uterine manipulator for total laparoscopic hysterectomy
A vaginal cervical retractor used to maneuver and visualize the uterus during various medical examinations and procedures would include an inner tube provided with a movable assembly of plastic cups (cervical cup and vaginal cup) designed to be inserted into the uterine cavity and a retractable electrosurgical needle. A cervical cup is molded to a hollow outer shaft to form the movable cup assembly. This hollow shaft is provided through which the inner tube can be inserted. By utilizing a vaginal cervical retractor elevator provided with an inner rigid tubing, freely sliding vaginal cup and cervical cup designed to move on the inner tubing, attached to a hollow, plastic outer shaft into which the inner tubing can be inserted, and a retractable, flexible, electrosurgical needle, the colpotomy procedure can be performed with the improved uterine manipulator.
Uterine manipulator with adjustable cervical cup
A uterine manipulator includes a cervical cup assembly having a cervical cup with an adjustable diameter to facilitate use of the uterine manipulator with patients having a wide range of cervical sizes. In embodiments, the cervical cup is formed from a plurality of slats that are connected to a base member by a living hinge. An actuator is positioned in relation to the cervical cup to move the slats towards or away from adjacent slats to vary the diameter of the cervical cup.
