POLYMER PHOTOPOLYMERIZATION SENSITIZER
To provide a photopolymerization sensitizer which will not cause problems of dusting or coloring of a cured product by bleeding of additives such as the photopolymerization sensitizer on the surface e.g. by blooming at the time of photo-curing or during storage of the cured product, and which imparts a practically sufficient photo-curing rate.
An oligomer of a 9,10-bis(substituted oxy)anthracene compound having repeating units represented by the following formula (1):

HYPERPOLARIZED [3- 13C]ACETOACETATE AND METHODS OF USING THE SAME
The present invention relates to hyperpolarized [3-.sup.13C]acetoacetate. Provided are [3-.sup.13C]acetoacetate and compositions comprising said [3-.sup.13C]acetoacetate. Further provided are methods of preparing and using hyperpolarized [3-.sup.13C]acetoacetate in the determination of the spatial and temporal distribution and metabolism of [3-.sup.13C]acetoacetate and/or its metabolites in a cell or subject, preferably by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS), and/or magnetic resonance spectroscopic imaging (MRSI), whereby conditions, diseases, or disorders associated with the metabolism of acetoacetate and/or other ketone bodies can be diagnosed. The conditions, diseases, or disorders to be diagnosed preferably are cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, or neurodegenerative diseases.

Compositions comprising ketone bodies and/or their metabolic precursors are provided that are suitable for administration to humans and animals and which have the properties of, inter alia, (i) increasing cardiac efficiency, particularly efficiency in use of glucose, (ii) for providing energy source, particularly in diabetes and insulin resistant states and (iii) treating disorders caused by damage to brain cells, particularly by retarding or preventing brain damage in memory associated brain areas such, as found in Alzheimer's and similar conditions.
These compositions may be taken as nutritional aids, for example for athletes, or for the treatment of medical conditions, particularly those associated with poor cardiac efficiency, insulin resistance and neuronal damage. The invention further provides methods of treatment and novel esters and polymers for inclusion in the compositions of the invention.
