A technique of providing user guidance for surgical navigation is provided. A method implementation of the technique includes obtaining a predetermined spatial relationship between an optical tracking pattern and a through-hole extending through an implant, obtaining image data of the optical tracking pattern acquired by an imaging unit attached to a surgical instrument, obtaining a spatial relationship between the surgical instrument and the imaging unit at a point in time when the image data have been acquired, determining a spatial relationship between the surgical instrument and the through-hole, obtaining a plurality of predefined spatial relationships between the surgical instrument and the through-hole, and triggering simultaneous display of an indication of the plurality of predefined spatial relationships and an indication of the spatial relationship between the surgical instrument and the through-hole.

SURGICAL FIXATION DEVICES AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF

A suspension fixation device includes a first fastener assembled to an adjustable loop of suture. The second fastener has a slot configured to allow the second fastener to be assembled to the suture loop once the suture loop has been passed through a drill hole. The second fastener further comprises a suture bridge formed through a post of the fastener for housing the suture loop while the slot is configured to prohibit the suture loop from migrating back out of the suture bridge.

ASSEMBLIES AND KITS FOR REAMING, METHODS OF ASSEMBLING REAMERS AND USE THEREOF IN REAMING AN ORTHOPEDIC JOINT

A reamer head assembly comprising: a base member supporting a reaming member, the reaming member comprising a reaming member configured to ream bone; wherein the reaming head assembly comprises a plurality of recesses arranged about the reaming surface, the plurality of recesses configured to allow manual gripping of the reaming head assembly.

Navigation-Guided Surgery Fixation (NGSF) Kit or System and Method of Using Same

A navigation-guided surgery fixation (NGSF) system. The NGSF system may include a fixation member for fixating an intraoral surgical guide. The fixation member may include a shank portion and a shaft portion, the shaft portion extending out from an end portion of the shank portion, and wherein the shank portion has a diameter greater than that of the shaft portion; and a sleeve member, wherein the sleeve member may include a through-hole substantially the same size of the shank portion and configured to receive the shank portion therein.

Lattice impaction pad

In some embodiments, the present disclosure relates to a method of securing an implant into a body of a patient. Initially, the implant is placed into the body of the patient. Then, an impactor tool is used to apply a force to the implant. Subsequent to the application of force to the implant, a portion of an impaction pad on an end of the impactor tool is monitored. When the portion is observed to be deformed, the application of force onto the implant is discontinued.

PATIENT-SPECIFIC ANTERIOR PLATE IMPLANTS

The present technology provides patient-specific implants. The implants can include a plate having a geometry contoured to mate with an identified anatomical structure at a target position. The plate can include a first projection having a first contact surface with a first topography designed to mate with a corresponding first surface of a first vertebral body, and a second projection having a second contact surface with second topography designed to mate with a corresponding second surface of a second vertebral body. The first topography can be different than the second topography. In some embodiments, the first and/or second projection can be configured to contact, and have topographies designed to mate, with a plurality of surfaces, such as two adjacent surfaces, of the respective first and second vertebral bodies.

DEVICE AND METHOD FOR EXPANDING SPACING BETWEEN SPINOUS PROCESSES

A device for expanding spacing between spinous processes includes a first supporter, a second supporter and a pin. The first supporter includes a first protrusion, a second protrusion opposing the first protrusion, and a first concave portion formed between the first protrusion and the second protrusion for supporting one spinous process. The second supporter includes a third protrusion, a fourth protrusion opposing the third protrusion, and a second concave portion formed between the third protrusion and the fourth protrusion for supporting another spinous process. The pin pivots the first supporter to the second supporter so as to provide the device an expansion state and a close state for removal and installation between two spinous processes. In addition, a method for expanding spacing between spinous processes is also provided.

A method and apparatus for changing a configuration of a bone. The method includes the steps of: fixing a first part of a bone plate to the bone at a first location; securing a guide assembly in an operative position in relationship to the bone; engaging a bone part moving assembly with the bone at a second bone location spaced from the first bone location; cutting the bone to define first and second bone sections and so that the bone part moving assembly engages the second bone section and the first bone location is on the first bone section; relatively repositioning the first and second bone sections into a desired relationship and thereby causing a part of the bone part moving assembly to move guidingly, together with the second bone section, in a controlled path; and fixing the first and second bone sections in the desired relationship. The first and second bone sections can be controllably relatively moved lengthwise of the bone plate without requiring guided movement of any component that extends through the bone plate and into the bone.

Reduction system for spondylolisthesis

A system and method for reducing spondylolisthesis. The system includes a bracket comprising a first opening and a second opening, a first and second rod, and a first and second knob. The system may be placed onto a patient's back, the rods may be inserted through the first opening and the second opening and further into a first vertebral part and a second vertebral part. Tightening of a first knob and a second knob on the first and second rod allow for repositioning of the vertebra. Once repositioned, an interspinous implant may be inserted into the interspinous process space, connecting the vertebrae.

Systems and methods are provided for processing X-ray images, wherein the methods are implemented as a software program product executable on a processing unit of the systems. Generally, an X-ray image is received by the system, the X-ray image being a projection image of a first object and a second object. The first and second objects are classified and a respective 3D model of the objects is received. At the first object, a geometrical aspect like an axis or a line is determined, and at the second object, another geometrical aspect like a point is determined. Finally, a spatial relation between the first object and the second object is determined based on a 3D model of the first object, a 3D model of the second object, and the information that the point of the second object is located on the geometrical aspect of the first object.
