Tangential fit of patient-specific guides
A bone preparation guide including a first patient-specific portion based on image data of a specific patient's bone and configured to match the patient's specific bone surface. A second patient-specific portion is based on image data of the specific patient's bone and configured to match the patient's specific bone surface. A patient-generic portion is configured to be a bone-facing portion supported by the first and the second patient-specific bone contacting members at a portion of the patient's bone surface not imaged during preparation of a preoperative plan.
PATIENT-SPECIFIC INSTRUMENTATION FOR IMPLANT REVISION SURGERY
A system for creating at least one model of a bone and implanted implant comprises a processing unit; and a non-transitory computer-readable memory communicatively coupled to the processing unit and comprising computer-readable program instructions executable by the processing unit for: obtaining at least one image of at least part of a bone and of an implanted implant on the bone, the at least one image being patient specific, obtaining a virtual model of the implanted implant using an identity of the implanted implant, overlaying the virtual model of the implanted implant on the at least one image to determine a relative orientation of the implanted implant relative to the bone in the at least one image, and generating and outputting a current bone and implant model using the at least one image, the virtual model of the implanted implant and the overlaying.
INSTRUMENTS AND INSTRUMENT KIT FOR LATARJET PROCEDURE
Disclosed is a positioning instrument that includes: two branches equipped at the proximal end thereof with an opposite jaw between which the graft is positioned, the two branches moving closer to one another by a translation movement; and a drill bush including a first hole and a second hole, separated by a distance and sized for the passage and guidance of a bone drill bit. Also disclosed are an instrument kit as well as a method for attaching a graft.
Three-dimensional selective bone matching
A method of generating a custom three-dimensional model of a bone is disclosed. A 2D image of the bone is obtained and an orientation and scale of the 2D image are aligned to a pre-determined coordinate system. Based on the 2D image, a representative bone is identified from a library of representative bones that are aligned to the pre-determined coordinate system. Based on the 2D image, an ideal view of a 3D model of the representative bone is selected. Modifications may be made to the 3D model by using additional representative bones from the library. A custom three-dimensional model of the bone is thereby generated.
PATIENT-SPECIFIC NAVIGATIONAL GUIDE
Patient-specific navigational guide (1) for use in spinal surgery, comprising two tubular guiding members (2) integral with a bearing frame (3) and extending from a proximal opening (2a) to a distal opening (2b) for guiding a surgical operation on a patient's vertebra (100); contact members (14, 15, 16) designed to match a corresponding plurality of contact areas (103, 102) on the patient's vertebra (100) in order to define a unique coupling configuration of the patient-specific navigational guide (1) on the patient's vertebra (100), wherein said contact members (14, 15, 16) comprise at east one pair of first main contact members (15), designed to abut on a contact area corresponding to the superior articular process (103) or facet of the patient's vertebra (100) and a pair of second main contact members (16), designed to abut at least partially on a contact area corresponding to the laminae (102) of the patient's vertebra (100). Contact members also comprise auxiliary contact members (14), designed to abut at least partially on a contact area corresponding to the edges (102a) of the patient's vertebra (100), in a position different from that of contact of the pair of the second main contact member (16), or to abut at least partially on a contact area corresponding to the transverse process (104).
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR GENERATING VIRTUAL INTERNAL FIXTURE ON BASIS OF IMAGE REDUCTION
Provided are a method and an apparatus for generating a virtual internal fixture on the basis of image reduction, the method including: recognizing positions and shapes of multiple fracture fragments in a medical fracture image including a fracture site; determining conformity of the multiple fracture fragments by analyzing the shapes of the multiple fracture fragments; performing image reduction of the fracture site by moving the positions of the multiple fracture fragments on the basis of the conformity; and generating the virtual internal fixture for fixing the fracture site for which image reduction has been performed.
Patient-matched instruments
Patient-matched surgical instruments and associated methods having an anatomy facing side including several discrete, physically separate anatomy contacting portions configured to match the anatomy of a particular patient and including one or more of non-uniform in distribution, non-uniform in shape and non-uniform in surface area.
Patient-specific knee alignment guide and associated method
A method of preparing a knee joint for a prosthesis in a patient includes mating a patient-specific three-dimensional curved inner surface of a femoral alignment guide onto a corresponding three-dimensional femoral joint surface of the patient. The patient-specific three-dimensional curved inner surface is preoperatively configured from medical scans of the knee joint of the patient. First and second holes are drilled into an anterior portion of the femoral joint surface through corresponding first and second guiding apertures of the femoral alignment guide.
BONE FRACTURE REPAIR APPARATUS AND METHODS
Apparatus and methods for delivery of an implant at a target site in an interior of a bone. The apparatus may include a plate. The plate may include a bottom surface complementing a surface contour of a bone. The plate may define first holes sized for receiving screws. The plate may define second holes sized for receiving fixation elements. The plate may define an opening. The opening may be sized for providing passage of the implant through the plate. When the bottom surface is seated complementarily against the surface contour, the first holes may point into an interior of the bone and into a volume occupied by the implant in the interior when the implant is positioned at a target site and radially expanded to form a mesh cage.
Backup kit for a patient-specific arthroplasty kit assembly
A method for preparing a backup kit for a plurality of patient-specific arthroplasty procedures scheduled at the same medical facility includes providing a database with data from completed arthroplasty procedures using patient-specific arthroplasty kits. The database includes comparisons between preoperatively planned implant size and intraoperatively implanted implant size. The method includes determining a statistically expected implant size deviation from a planned implant size for each implant included in a plurality of patient-specific arthroplasty kits prepared for a shipment to the medical facility using the database. A backup kit of backup implants is assembled for the shipment. The number and size of the backup implants is determined from the statistically expected implant size deviations.
