The present disclosure relates to a plurality of host materials comprising a first host material including a compound represented by formula 1 and a second host material including a compound represented by formula 2, and an organic electroluminescent device comprising the same. By comprising the organic electroluminescent compound and/or a specific combination of compounds according to the present disclosure as host materials, an organic electroluminescent device having high luminous efficiency and long lifespan property can be provided.
LIGHT EMITTING DEVICE COMPOSITION AND LIGHT EMITTING DEVICE CONTAINING THE SAME
A composition which is useful for production of a light emitting device of which initial deterioration is suppressed, and a light emitting device formed using the composition, are provided. The composition contains a host material and a guest material blended therein. The host material contains an aromatic compound having a condensed ring skeleton in which only three or more benzene rings are condensed. The guest material contains an aromatic amine compound. The total amount of sodium atoms contained in the host material and sodium atoms contained in the guest material is 400 ppb by mass or less with respect to the total amount of the host material and the guest material.

An electrochromic compound represented by the following formula (1) is provided: ##STR00001## where each of R.sub.1 to R.sub.9 and Ar.sub.1 to Ar.sub.6 independently represents one of a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a monovalent organic group, a group in which two or more aryl and/or heteroaryl groups are bound to each other via a covalent bond, a group in which two or more aryl and/or heteroaryl groups are condensed with each other to form a ring, and a polymerizable functional group; and at least one of Ar.sub.1 to Ar.sub.6 represents an aryl group, a heteroaryl group, a group in which two or more aryl and/or heteroaryl groups are bound to each other via a covalent bond, or a group in which at least two aryl or heteroaryl groups are condensed with each other to form a ring.

To provide an organic electroluminescent device in which energy efficiency is improved. An organic electroluminescent device includes a pair of electrode layers formed of an anode layer and a cathode layer, and a luminescent layer arranged between the pair of electrode layers, in which the luminescent layer includes a host material and a dopant material, and the dopant material is an anthracene-based compound represented by formula (1), and the luminescent layer further includes a polycyclic aromatic compound represented by formula (2) or a multimer of a polycyclic aromatic compound having a plurality of structures represented by formula (2).

Organic Electroluminescent Materials and Devices
The present invention relates to novel light-emitting materials. These materials comprise a side chain that includes a fully deuterated or partially deuterated alkyl chain. This new side chain could improve device lifetime compared to nondeuterated side chains.
