SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TREATING TISSUE REGIONS OF THE BODY
Systems and methods deploy a therapeutic or diagnostic element into contact with a body tissue region. The systems and methods can sense position of the therapeutic or diagnostic element relative to a targeted tissue region without direct or indirect visualization, by sensing fluid pressure in a fluid path having an outlet located at or near the therapeutic or diagnostic element. The systems and methods can also inflate the therapeutic or diagnostic element during use, while taking steps to avoid over-inflation and/or while dynamically monitoring the pressure conditions within the expanded element.
Graphical user interface for association with an electrode structure deployed in contact with a tissue region
Systems and methods deploy an electrode structure in contact with the tissue region. The electrode structure carries a sensor at a known location on the electrode structure to monitor an operating condition. The systems and methods provide an interface, which generate an idealized image of the electrode structure and an indicator image to represent the monitored operating condition in a spatial position on the idealized image corresponding to the location of the sensor on the electrode structure. The interface displays a view image comprising the idealized image and indicator image. The systems and methods cause the electrode structure to apply energy to heat the tissue region while the view image is displayed on the display screen.
Bipolar sphincterotome
A bipolar sphincterotome may include an elongate tubular member, a cutting wire, and a return path. The return path may include a conductive ink portion disposed on an outer surface at a distal portion of the tubular member. The return path may also include a return wire disposed within the tubular member that is electrically coupled to the conductive ink portion. In some example embodiments, the return wire may be disposed within a lumen configured to have two or more functions, one of which being to house the return wire. Additionally, in some example embodiments, the conductive ink portion may be circumferentially disposed on the outer surface to provide visual access to a wire guide lumen. Also, for some example embodiments, the bipolar sphincterotome may include two electrically isolated return paths.
CRYOGENIC ABLATION SYSTEM WITH ROTATABLE AND TRANSLATABLE CATHETER
An ablation assembly includes a handle, a catheter assembly and a connector locking assembly. The catheter assembly includes: a catheter shaft, a balloon and a connector at the distal and proximal ends of the catheter shaft, and a delivery tube extending between there between. The connector includes a connector body secured to the proximal end and a plug secured to the delivery tube, the plug and delivery tube movable axially and rotationally. The handle includes an open portion receiving the plug and the connector body. The connector locking assembly includes: means for simultaneously automatically connecting the plug and the connector body to the handle to place the connector in a load state prior to use, and means for automatically releasing the connector body and thereafter the plug from the handle to place the connector in an eject state to permit the connector to be removed from the handle.
Systems and methods for treating tissue with radiofrequency energy
A device for applying radiofrequency energy for sphincter treatment comprising a flexible outer tube, an expandable basket having a plurality of arms movable from a collapsed position to an expanded position, and a plurality of electrodes movable with respect to the arms from a retracted position to an extended position. An advancer is slidably disposed within the outer tube to move the plurality of electrodes to the extended position. An actuator moves the advancer from a first position to a second position to advance the plurality of electrodes. An aspiration tube extends within the outer tube. An assembly includes an aspiration disabler having a first position to enable aspiration from a distal portion of the aspiration tube to a proximal portion and a second position to disable aspiration.
MEDICAL SYSTEMS, DEVICES AND RELATED METHODS
In one example, a medical device may include a handle including a proximal portion and a distal portion, and the proximal portion may pivot relative to the distal portion. The medical device may also include an insertion portion coupled to the distal portion of the handle and configured to be positioned within a body lumen; and an articulation wire extending from the handle through the insertion portion. Pivoting of the proximal portion of the handle relative to the distal portion of the handle may move the articulation wire relative to the insertion portion to bend a distal portion of the insertion portion.
ELECTROSURGICAL SYSTEM WITH ELECTRICALLY ACTIVE OUTER SURFACE
An electrosurgical system may include a medical delivery device and an electrosurgical device to perform an electrosurgical procedure. The electrosurgical device may have a monopolar configuration. An outer surface of the medical delivery device may include a conductive portion that is part of a return path for a bipolar configuration. Current may be supplied through an active member of the electrosurgical device to perform the procedure. After passing through tissue, the current may be drawn to the electrode portion of the medical delivery device to complete the circuit.

The present invention provides a treatment apparatus for an endoscope, an endoscope, and an expandable frame. The treatment apparatus for an endoscope includes: a first electrode, including an electrical treatment part and an operating wire; a second electrode, provided inside the endoscope, and including a first electrically conductive part and a sliding contact part electrically connected to the first electrically conductive part, the first electrically conductive part being configured to contact a human body; and a sheath, provided on a surface thereof with a second electrically conductive part, where the operating wire is configured to be passed through the sheath, the sheath is configured to be passed through the endoscope, and when the sheath is located in a preset position, the sliding contact part contacts and is electrically connected to the second electrically conductive part and the sheath is in sliding fit with the sliding contact part.
LINKING ELEMENTS FOR IMPLANTABLE SPHINCTER ASSISTANCE DEVICE
An implantable restriction device includes a plurality of beads, a plurality of links joining the beads together, and a parking feature. Each bead in the plurality of beads includes a housing, a passageway extending through the housing, and at least one magnet disposed around the passageway. The plurality of links are slidably disposed in corresponding passageways of the beads such that the plurality of beads can transition between a constricted configuration and an expanded configuration. The parking feature can consistently position the at least one link relative to the housing in the contracted configuration.
MEDICAL DEVICE WITH A STEERABLE TIP
Medical devices and methods are disclosed. An example medical device for accessing a body lumen along a biliary and/or pancreatic tract may include an elongated member having a distal end and a proximal end. The medical device may have a flexible distal tip. The flexible tip may be steerable by applying tension to one or more steering wires extending between the distal tip and a handle at a proximal end of the medical device. The medical device may be a sphincterotome.
