A radiofrequency ablation catheter having a meshed tubular stent structure and an apparatus thereof, include a meshed tubular stent disposed at a front end of the catheter. The meshed tubular stent comprises and including a meshed tube (1). Both ends of the meshed tube are tapered to form a distal end and a proximal end of the meshed tubular stent. The intermediate segment of the meshed tubular stent has a contracted state and an expanded state. One or more electrodes (2) are fixed onto the intermediate segment. The radiofrequency ablation catheter has improved flexibility and provides great coverage for the blood vessels with different thicknesses and curves. When the meshed tubular stent expands in the blood vessels having different thicknesses of 4-12 mm, all of the electrodes (2) contact the walls. Moreover, when the meshed tubular stent expands in the curved blood vessels, all of the electrodes are ensured to contact the walls.

SURGICAL TOOL WITH AN ASEPTIC POWER MODULE THAT ENTERS A SPECIFIC OPERATING STATE BASED ON THE TYPE OF HANDPIECE TO WHICH THE POWER MODULE IS ATTACHED
20170224400 · 2017-08-10 ·

A surgical tool that includes a sterilzable handpiece that receives an aseptic power module. The handpiece includes a data tag that contains data identifying the type of handpiece. The power module includes a reader that reads the data from the data tag. Based on the type of handpiece the power module selectively actuates the power generating unit internal to the power module. Specifically, the power generating unit is actuated to output energy having the appropriate characteristics for the type of handpiece to which the power module is attached. In many versions of the invention, the data tag is mounted to the latch integral with the handpiece. The power module also interprets the receipt of the data from the handpiece as an indication that the power module is properly latched into the handpiece.

BIPOLAR TOOL FOR SEPARATING TISSUE ADHESIONS OR TUNNELING

A bipolar tunneling tool is configured to separate tissue adhesions and tunnel. The bipolar tunneling tool includes a handle, a tunneling shaft, a return electrode, an optical window, an active electrode, and an insulative housing. The tunneling shaft extends from the handle. The return electrode is disposed proximate a distal end of the tunneling shaft. The optical window is disposed proximate the distal end of the tunneling shaft, the optical window defining a channel. The active electrode is at least partially disposed within the channel. The active electrode is configured to dissect a tissue and cauterize the tissue. The insulative housing is configured to electrically insulate the active electrode from the return electrode.
