Surgical cleaning tool, system, and method
A surgical cleaning tool and method of cleaning a surgical tool. The surgical cleaning tool includes a shaft, a handle and an end portion. The shaft has a distal end and a proximal end. The handle is attached to the distal end of the shaft The end portion is connected to the proximal end of the shaft, wherein the end portion has an outer surface, an inner cavity, an inner surface, at least one cleaning element connected to at least a portion of the inner surface, and an opening in a wall portion of the end portion, wherein the opening allows access to the cleaning element in the inner cavity of the end portion.
Catheter with composite construction
A catheter has a composite and segmented construction in a distal section that includes deflectable members and support member arranged in alternating sequence, with each support member carrying a ring electrode and the deflectable members being flexible to allow deflection of the distal section as a whole. Carried on an outer surface of the support member is a coil location sensor. The distal section is configured with a distal irrigation fluid path extending axially through the deflectable members and the support members to deliver irrigation fluid to the ring electrode and the tip electrode. A method of constructing a catheter includes building a section of the catheter from the inside out by mounting the support members on a tubing at predetermined locations and filling gaps in between with a more flexible material to form the deflectable members by extrusion segments or injection molding over assembled components internal to the catheter.

ABLATION PROBE AND LUMEN FOR IMPROVED ACCESS AND FLOW
An apparatus and method provide for the delivery of an ablation treatment by supplying a control signal to supply electrode of an ablation device disposed at the distal end portion of an elongated shaft. A lumen extends along a longitudinal axis of the shaft. The supply electrode forms an electrode face laterally directed from the longitudinal axis and through which an aperture extends in connection with the lumen. The electrode face forms an ovular shape having a first major axis that extends parallel to the longitudinal axis. An insulator separates the supply electrode from a return electrode, and a transition passage of the lumen extends though the insulator along an arc-shaped path.
SURGICAL FORCEPS
A forceps includes an end effector assembly having first and second jaw members movable between a spaced-apart position and an approximated position for grasping tissue therebetween. A knife assembly having a cutting blade disposed at a distal end thereof is also provided. The knife assembly is translatable relative to the end effector assembly between a retracted position and an extended position, wherein the cutting blade extends between the jaw members to cut tissue grasped therebetween. The knife assembly includes a proximal component and a first distal component that includes the cutting blade. The proximal and first distal components are removably coupled to one another to facilitate replacement of the first distal component. Methods of preparing such forceps for reuse are also provided.
Surgical devices with moisture control
A surgical device including a handle assembly, an elongated portion, an end effector, a drive shaft, and a wick is disclosed. The wick is disposed within an outer sleeve of the elongated portion and is made from a fibrous material. The wick is configured to transfer moisture from a first portion of the wick to a second portion of the wick.
Device and Method for the Ablation of Fibrin Sheath Formation on a Venous Catheter
An indwelling venous catheter and method capable of destroying undesirable cellular growth is provided. The catheter includes a shaft having at least one lumen and adapted to be placed inside a vein for long term use. A plurality of electrodes are positioned near a distal section of the shaft and are adapted to receive from a voltage generator a plurality of electrical pulses in an amount sufficient to cause destruction of cells in the undesirable cellular growth that have grown around the shaft. In one aspect of the invention, a probe is configured to be removably insertable into the at least one lumen and the electrodes are positioned near the distal section of the probe.
Surgical forceps
A forceps includes an end effector assembly having first and second jaw members movable relative to one another between a spaced-apart position, a first approximated position, and a second approximated position. One or both of the jaw members including a first stop member coupled thereto and disposed between the jaw members. The first stop member is longitudinally translatable along a surface of the at least one jaw member from a first position, wherein the first stop member inhibits approximation of the jaw members beyond the first approximated position, and a second position, wherein the first stop member inhibits approximation of the jaw members beyond the second approximated position.

Electrosurgical instrument with removable jaw components
A surgical instrument includes a body, an elongate shaft extending distally from the body, an end effector disposed at a distal end of the elongate shaft, and a firing beam. The end effector has a first jaw and a second jaw. The first jaw is pivotable toward and away from the second jaw to capture tissue. The end effector further comprises at least one electrode. The at least one electrode is operable to apply RF energy to tissue captured between the first jaw and the second jaw. At least a portion of the end effector is reconfigurable to transition the end effector into a cleaning state
