METHODS AND SYSTEMS TO COMBINE RF ABLATION THERAPY WITH DEVICE NAVIGATION
Methods and systems for combining ablation therapy with navigation of the ablation device. An ablation system may be configured for use with one of two methods to prevent loss of navigation signals during ablation energy delivery. In the first method, ablation energy signals are filtered from the navigation signal. In the second method, the delivery of ablation energy is sequenced with the delivery of navigation energy such that ablation energy and navigation energy are not delivered at the same time and navigation signals received by the system are time-division multiplexed to reconstruct the navigation signals and determine a location of the device within the patient.
Medical systems, methods, and devices for hypopigmentation cooling treatments
Embodiments of the present invention generally relate to methods, devices, and systems for reducing a pigmentation of a skin of a patient. In some embodiments, freezing of the skin may be desirable to effect the hypopigmentation of the skin of the patient. Generally, embodiments may limit supercooling (or promote freezing) of the skin of the patient during a cooling treatment. In some embodiments, coupling fluids are provided to reduce a thermal contact resistance between a cooling treatment probe and the skin of the patient to improve cooling treatment. Optionally, a fluid carrier may be provided to help retain the coupling fluid at the treatment site. In some embodiments, the coupling fluid may include ice nucleating agents to promote ice crystal formation in the coupling fluid during cooling treatment. The ice crystal formation in the coupling fluid may progress into the skin to limit supercooling of the skin during treatment.
Neuromodulation and associated systems and methods for the management of pain
Methods for treating and managing pain in a patient with therapeutic neuromodulation and associated systems and methods are disclosed herein. Chronic or debilitating pain can be associated, for example, with a disease or condition of the abdominal or reproductive viscera. One aspect of the present technology is directed to methods that at least partially inhibit sympathetic neural activity in nerves proximate a target blood vessel of a diseased or damaged organ of a patient experiencing pain. Targeted sympathetic nerve activity can be modulated at least along afferent pathways which can improve a measurable parameter associated with the pain of the patient The modulation can be achieved, for example, using an intravascularly positioned catheter carrying a therapeutic assembly, e.g., a therapeutic assembly configured to use electrically-induced, thermally-induced, and/or chemically-induced approaches to modulate the target sympathetic nerve.
PULMONARY HYPERTENSION TREATMENT METHOD AND/OR SYSTEM
Some embodiments of the invention relate to a method of treating pulmonary hypertension comprising: introducing a catheter device comprising one or more energy emitting transceivers into the pulmonary artery lumen; positioning the one or more transceivers within the left, right and/or main pulmonary artery at a location which is in between the first bifurcation of the left pulmonary artery and the first bifurcation of the right pulmonary artery; and thermally damaging nerve tissue by emitting energy having parameters selected to damage nerves only within a distance window of between 0.2 mm and 20 mm from the intimal aspect of the pulmonary artery wall when the one or more transceivers are positioned at the selected location.

DEVICE AND METHOD FOR THE GEOMETRIC DETERMINATION OF ELECTRICAL DIPOLE DENSITIES ON THE CARDIAC WALL
Disclosed are devices, a systems, and methods for determining the dipole densities on heart walls. In particular, a triangularization of the heart wall is performed in which the dipole density of each of multiple regions correlate to the potential measured at various locations within the associated chamber of the heart.
TREATMENT SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR AFFECTING GLANDS AND OTHER TARGETED STRUCTURES
Treatment systems, methods, and apparatuses for treating acne, hyperhidrosis, and other skin conditions are described. Aspects of the technology can include cooling a surface of a patient's skin and detecting changes in the tissue. The tissue can be cooled a sufficient length of time and to a temperature low enough to affect glands or other targeted structures in the skin.
Image-guided therapy of a tissue
Image-guided therapy of a tissue can utilize magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or another medical imaging device to guide an instrument within the tissue. A workstation can actuate movement of the instrument, and can actuate energy emission and/or cooling of the instrument to effect treatment to the tissue. The workstation and/or an operator of the workstation can be located outside a vicinity of an MRI device or other medical imaging device, and drive means for positioning the instrument can be located within the vicinity of the MRI device or the other medical imaging device. The instrument can be an MRI compatible laser probe that provides thermal therapy to, e.g., a tissue in a brain of a patient.
METHOD FOR TREATING HEART FAILURE BY IMPROVING EJECTION FRACTION OF A PATIENT
A method for improving an ejection fraction of a patient in need thereof, including positioning a pulmonary artery manipulation device in a target blood vessel, within the pulmonary vasculature of the patient; and impairing the activity of at least one sympathetic nerve, nerve fiber or neuron, using the pulmonary artery manipulation device, to denervate the target blood vessel, thereby improving the ejection fraction of the patient.
Focused ultrasound split-foci control using spherical-confocal-split array with dual frequency of fundamental and harmonic superimposition
A spherical-confocal-split array with dual frequency of fundamental and harmonic superimposition includes: array elements which are spherically confocal, whose quantity is an even number, wherein a half of the array elements operate with a lower frequency, and the other half of the array elements operate with a higher frequency; both the lower frequency and the higher frequency are MHz high-frequencies; each of the array elements corresponds to a frequency drive; array element beams don't superimpose outside the focal region; each of the array elements is connected to a channel amplifier (3) through corresponding impedance matching (2); and a multi-channel waveform controller (4) is connected to the channel amplifier (3) for controlling amplitudes and phases of all channels. The dual-frequency spherical sectorial split array is able to generate split multi-foci of the focal plane with the dual frequencies; and control strong interference of transient cavitation clouds at the adjacent foci.
