System and method for a graphical user interface that provides improved control and visualization for an ablation procedure
A system for delivering energy to a patient's body is disclosed that includes a plurality of probes, a touch-sensitive display screen, and a controller communicatively coupled to each of the probes and the display screen. The controller is configured to perform operations including displaying a virtual control object in the user interface of the touch-sensitive display screen that is associated with an operating parameter of a treatment procedure performed with the probe. The controller is configured to adjust the operating parameter when a user touch action is directed to the virtual control object. The controller is configured to convert the virtual control object into a non-control label based, at least in part, on a current status of the treatment procedure. The controller is configured to prohibit adjustment of the operating parameter using the non-control label in response to a user touch action that is directed to the non-control label.
Surgical systems and methods for facilitating ad-hoc intraoperative planning of surgical procedures
A surgical system, method and CAD program are provided for facilitating surgical planning. A digitization device has a pointer tip and one or more control inputs. A navigation system tracks the digitization device. The CAD program generates a virtual reference frame and receives the tracked state of the digitization device from the navigation system. The CAD program renders, within the virtual reference frame, a virtual representation of the pointer tip of the digitization device having a pose of the pointer tip derived from its tracked state. In response to actuation of the control input(s) of the digitization device, the CAD program registers local virtual reference(s) within the virtual reference frame at a location relative to the pose of the virtual representation of the pointer tip and enables arrangement of geometrical design object(s) within the virtual reference frame relative to the registered local virtual reference(s) to facilitate surgical planning.
SYSTEMS FOR ENHANCED REGISTRATION OF PATIENT ANATOMY
A system comprises a medical instrument, a tracking system configured to monitor a position of the medical instrument, and a processor communicatively coupled to the medical instrument and the tracking system. The processor is configured to generate a plurality of model points of an anatomic structure of a patient, receive a set of measured points of a first portion of the anatomic structure of the patient from the tracking system while the medical instrument is disposed within the anatomic structure of the patient, the set of measured points being associated with a first motion cycle of the medical instrument, map the set of measured points to a first model path of the plurality of model paths, and register the set of measured points with a first portion of the plurality of model points, the first portion associated with the first model path of the plurality of model paths.
MEDICAL USER INTERFACES AND RELATED METHODS OF USE
A medical system for use in a lithotripsy procedure may include a processor configured to receive input from a first imaging device, wherein the first imaging device may be configured to send image data representative of an image captured in a lumen of a kidney, bladder, or ureter to the processor. The processor may be configured to display the image on a display device coupled to the processor, and analyze the image to sense the presence of an object within the image. If an object was sensed within the image, the processor may analyze the image to estimate a size of the object, and display the estimate on the display device.
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE GUIDANCE SYSTEM FOR ROBOTIC SURGERY
This invention is a system and method for utilizing artificial intelligence to operate a surgical robot (e.g., to perform a laminectomy), including a surgical robot, an artificial intelligence guidance system, an image recognition system, an image recognition database, and a database of past procedures with sensor data, electronic medical records, and imaging data. The image recognition system may identify the tissue type present in the patient and if it is the desired tissue type, the AI guidance system may remove a layer of that tissue with the end effector on the surgical robot, and have the surgeon define the tissue type if the image recognition system identified the tissue as anything other than the desired tissue type.
STONE IDENTIFICATION METHODS AND SYSTEMS
Aspects of stone identification methods and systems are described. According to one aspect, an exemplary method comprises: transmitting to a processing unit, with an imaging element mounted on a distal end of a scope, image data about a stone object inside a body cavity; generating from the image data, with the processing unit, a visual representation of the stone object and the body cavity; establishing from a user input, with the processing unit, a scale for the visual representation; determining from the visual representation, with the processing unit, a size of the stone object on the scale; comparing, with the processing unit, the size of the stone object with a predetermined maximum size to determine a removal status; and augmenting, with the processing unit, the visual representation to include an indicator responsive to the removal status. Associated systems are also described.
Cannula and proximally mounted camera with an imaging control system for rotating images
A cannula system with a proximally mounted camera assembly, sensors or sensor pair component(s), radially fixed to the camera assembly and an image control system operable to rotate image data obtained from the camera for display on a display screen, to maintain an image in an orientation preferred by a surgeon even as the camera assembly is rotated radially about the axis of the cannula.
SURGICAL TOOL SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a surgical robot system may include an end-effector element configured for controlled movement and positioning and tracking of surgical instruments and objects relative to an image of a patient's anatomical structure. In some embodiments the end-effector and instruments may be tracked by surgical robot system and displayed to a user. In some embodiments, tracking of a target anatomical structure and objects, both in a navigation space and an image space, may be provided by a dynamic reference base located at a position away from the target anatomical structure.
Systems and methods for robotic infection treatment of a prosthesis
A method for debriding an infected implant area using a robotic-assisted surgery system. The method includes determining, by a processing circuit associated with a computer, an area to be debrided, the debridement area including at least a surface of an implant or patient tissue, and generating, by the processing circuit, a plan for debriding the debridement area. The method further includes controlling a debridement tool, by the robotic-assisted surgery system, while the debridement tool is used to carry out the debridement plan, and monitoring the debridement by the processing circuit.
