Coated polyester films
Polyester films with abrasion resistant coatings and methods for making the same are provided. The coated polyester films include a polyester film substrate having a coating on at least one side thereof, wherein the coating is derived from a coating composition that includes (i) a melamine crosslinker component and (ii) a polyurethane component derivable from at least one diisocyanate and at least one polymeric polyol.
Process for preparing an aqueous dispersion of pigment containing particles
A process for preparing an aqueous dispersion of pigment particles is described. The pigment particle contains a pigment and an aminoplast resin which surrounds or embeds the pigment. The process includes (i) a step of subjecting an aqueous suspension of a pigment in the form of coarse particles to milling so that the coarse particles are comminuted in the presence of a polymeric dispersant to a particle diameter d(v 0.9) of below 1500 nm, as determined by laser diffraction; and (ii) a step of polycondensation of an aminoplast pre-condensate in the aqueous suspension of the comminuted particles of the pigment obtained in step (i) or during the milling of step (i). The polycondensation is performed in the presence of an acid catalyst at pH of below 5.5. The aqueous dispersion obtained by the process and the use of the aqueous dispersion for tinting waterborne liquid coating composition are also described.
Heteroatom doped Polymer Nanospheres/Carbon Nanospheres and Preparation Method Thereof
A method to make heteroatom doped polymer nanosphere/carbon nanospheres uses aromatic amine and aldehyde as raw materials, and in the presence of a compound represented by formula I, reacts the aldehyde with the compound represented by formula Ito form a Schiff base, and then reacts the aromatic amine with the resulting Schiff base, wherein the reaction is conducted in an aqueous solution system at a mild reaction temperature (10° C. to 50° C.) under stirring. The resulting polymer nanospheres are subject to centrifugation and drying, followed by roasting in an inert atmosphere to obtain carbon nanospheres. The nanospheres product prepared using the method has controllable dimensions and morphology, an even particle size, and homogeneously doped heteroatoms.
Cleaning article comprising multiple sheets and methods thereof
The present invention relates to a cleaning article that includes a cleaning article that includes melamine-formaldehyde foam. The melamine-formaldehyde foam includes at least two sheets and has a density above 12 kg/m.sup.3. Each sheet is from about 0.5 to about 4 mm in thickness and the static COF between two sheets is greater than 6. Additionally the present invention encompasses processes for making and methods for cleaning hard surfaces with a cleaning article according to the present invention.

The present invention relates to a cleaning article that includes a cleaning article that includes melamine-formaldehyde foam. The melamine-formaldehyde foam includes at least two sheets and has a density above 12 kg/m.sup.3. Each sheet is from about 0.5 to about 4 mm in thickness and the static COF between two sheets is greater than 6. Additionally the present invention encompasses processes for making and methods for cleaning hard surfaces with a cleaning article according to the present invention.
Impregnating resin composition, resin coating, laminate containing same, impregnation product, and method for producing same
The invention relates to an impregnating resin composition containing a) a melamine formaldehyde resin, b) a non-ionic wetting agent, c) a non-ionic release agent, d) a hardener, and e) polyhexamethylene guanidine (PHMG). The invention further relates to a resin coating which can be obtained by condensing the impregnating resin composition and to a resin coating containing a co-condensate made of the melamine formaldehyde resin and polyhexamethylene guanidine (PHMG). The invention further relates to an impregnate containing i) the impregnating resin composition or the resin coating and ii) an impregnate carrier material. Another object of the invention is a laminate containing iii) a laminate carrier material and iv) the impregnate or the impregnating resin composition, or the resin coating. A further object of the invention is a method for producing a laminate having the steps of i) applying the impregnating resin composition or the resin coating or the impregnate onto a carrier material and ii) compressing the component from step i). In addition, the invention concerns the use of the impregnating resin composition or the resin coating in the production of wood-based materials, impregnates, and/or laminates.

Triazine-precondensate-aldehyde condensation products and method for obtaining the same
The present invention relates to a triazine-precondensate-aldehyde condensation product obtainable by reacting a) at least one triazine compound of the general formulae (I), b) at least one aldehyde, and c) at least one triazine precondensate of the general formula (II). A method for obtaining a condensation product and a wood based panel are also disclosed.
