Organic-inorganic hybrid material, fabrication process of the same and its starting material

An organic-inorganic hybrid material is disclosure. The organic-inorganic hybrid material contains 5˜50 wt % of inorganic compounds and has a characteristic peak at 1050±50 cm.sup.−1 in FTIR spectrum. Furthermore, the invention also provides a fabricating process of the organic-inorganic hybrid material as well as its starting material “isocyanates”. In particular, the isocyanates are prepared from carbonate containing compounds and amines.

THERMOPLASTIC POLYURETHANE (TPU) FOAM PRODUCT WITH HIGH FLATNESS, AND PREPARATION METHOD AND USE THEREOF

A thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) foam product with high flatness, and a preparation method and a use thereof are provided. The TPU foam product is prepared by processing aliphatic thermoplastic polyurethane (ATPU) beads with a melting range of 20° C. to 50° C. and a melting point of 90° C. to 160° C. by a physical gas foaming process to obtain foamed ATPU beads and heating the foamed ATPU beads with a heat source to make the foamed ATPU beads fused. The TPU foam product with high flatness has a density of 0.08 g/cm.sup.3 to 0.8 g/cm.sup.3 and a flatness value of less than 2 mm, and the flatness value is determined by a fixed-length ruler. The TPU foam product not only has high flatness such that diversified designs are allowed for a surface of the product, but also has high resilience.

Interpenetrating polymer networks

The invention relates to a film comprising an interpenetrating network, its uses and processes for making the same. The film produced displays good durability, chemical resistance and transparency. The film is produced from an interpenetrating network formed as a colloidal suspension in an organic solvent and a particulate solid.

Polyurethane coating compositions and their use as gel coats

Polyurethane coating compositions are disclosed that include an isocyanate-reactive component that includes a polycyclic polyether polyol that is the reaction product of a reaction mixture that includes a polycyclic polyol starter, and an alkylene oxide, as well as an isocyanate-functional component that includes a non-aromatic polyisocyanate. The polyurethane coating compositions may be particularly useful as a gel coat in the manufacture of glass fiber reinforced plastics.

A resin composition useful for additive manufacturing is provided, which resin composition may exhibit improved shelf life through inhibition of crystallization. Such resin composition may include a crystallization inhibitor as taught herein, and/or a prepolymer produced by reaction of an isocyanate with multiple isomers and comprising a lower percentage of the structurally symmetric isomer. Methods of forming a three-dimensional object using such resin composition are also provided.

Disclosed is a liquid, solvent free, moisture curable polyurethane adhesive composition comprising the reaction products of at least one polyoxypropylene polyol having a hydroxyl functionality of at least three and ethylene oxide end-capping with one or more polyisocyanates having a weight average isocyanate functionality of greater than 2.3. The adhesive composition has a long open time and rapid cure time compared to currently available adhesives. The polyoxypropylene polyol preferably has a number average molecular weight of from 3,000 to 8,000. The composition finds special use in panel lamination applications.

Hard Coat Compositions and Composite Films Including a Thermoplastic Polyurethane

Disclosed herein are hard coat compositions and composite films including a thermoplastic polyurethane. A hard coat composition includes a thermoplastic polyurethane having a hard segment content of 80 percent by weight or greater. The thermoplastic polyurethane is a reaction product of a) a diisocyanate; b) a polyol optionally comprising a cyclic structure; and c) a chain extender. At least one of the polyol or the chain extender comprises at least one side chain and at least one of the diisocyanate or the chain extender comprises a cyclic structure. A composite film includes 1) a hard coat layer having opposing first and second major surfaces; and 2) a second layer disposed on at least a portion of the hard coat layer. These materials can serve decorative and/or protective functions while displaying both good elongation at moderate temperatures and high hardness.

PHOSPHONIUM-CONTAINING POLYURETHANE COMPOSITIONS

The present disclosure describes phosphonium-containing polyurethane compositions, coating compositions, and coated fabric media. In one example, a phosphonium-containing polyurethane composition can include an aqueous liquid vehicle and polyurethane particles. The polyurethane particles can include a polyurethane polymer devoid of end cap groups. The polyurethane polymer can include a polyurethane backbone having a polymerized diamine chain extender forming a portion of the backbone. The polyurethane polymer can also include side chain groups along the polyurethane backbone. The side chain groups can collectively include aliphatic phosphonium salts and polyalkylene oxide groups.
