Copolymerized saturated polyester resin and coating composition containing same
A copolymerized saturated polyester resin is formed by polycondensation of an acid component and an alcohol component. The acid component contains (a-1) 90 to 99% by mole of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid or a C.sub.1-2 alkyl ester thereof and (a-2) 0.5 to 2% by mole of a trifunctional or higher functional carboxylic acid or an anhydride thereof. The alcohol component contains (b-1) 45 to 80% by mole of an alicyclic polyhydric alcohol and (b-2) 20 to 55% by mole of an aliphatic polyhydric alcohol having a C.sub.1-3 alkyl side chain. A coating composition containing the copolymerized saturated polyester resin shows excellent corrosion resistance and chemical resistance. A coating film formed from the coating composition shows excellent processability and resin solubility, and is useful for coating a can and pre-coated metal.
Terminally-functionalized cashew nut shell liquid derivatives
A terminally-functionalized derivative of a cashew nut shell liquid (CNSL) compound, a method to form a polymer, and an article of manufacture comprising a polymer derived from the terminally-functionalized CNSL derivative. The terminally-functionalized CNSL derivative has two, three, four, or five reactive functional groups. The polymer is prepared by obtaining CNSL compounds, reacting the CNSL compounds to form the terminally-functionalized CNSL derivative, and polymerizing the terminally-functionalized CNSL derivative.

Polyester resin composition and preparation method thereof
The present invention relates to a polyester resin composition capable of having an excellent shrinkage rate, being heat-shrunk at a low temperature, and improving adhesion properties, without impairing insulation properties in a state of heat-shrinkable films, and a method for preparing the same. The present polyester resin composition comprises: a copolymerized polyester resin including a dicarboxylic acid-derived residue including a residue derived from an aromatic dicarboxylic acid; and a diol-derived residue including a residue derived from 4-(hydroxymethyl)cyclohexyl methyl 4′-(hydroxymethyl)cyclohexane carboxylate, and a residue derived from 4,4-(oxybis(methylene)bis) cyclohexane methanol, an alkali metal compound, and an alkaline earth metal compound, wherein the alkali metal compound and the alkaline earth metal compound are contained in an amount that the content ratio of the alkali metal element/the alkaline earth metal element derived therefrom is 0.01 to 1.
FURAN SYRINGES AND BLOOD COLLECTION ITEMS
A blood collection item comprises a furan resin selected from the group consisting of: poly (ethylene 2,5-furan dicarboxylate) (PEF), poly (butylene 2,5-furan dicarboxylate) (PBF), poly (trim ethylene furan dicarboxylate) (PTF), poly (propylene 2,5-furandicarboxylate) (PPF), and poly (neopentyl 2,5-furandicarboxylate) (PNF). The item may be a syringe having an injection-molded plunger and barrel, a blood collection tube, or a tube holder.
Method for adhering resin molded articles
To provide a technique of improving adhesion of a resin molded article including a polyalkylene terephthalate resin to a silicon adhesive. A polyalkylene terephthalate resin is used in which an aromatic dicarboxylic acid excluding terephthalic acid, and/or an ester compound thereof is subjected to copolymerization as a modified component, and the content of the modified component relative to the total dicarboxylic acid component is at least 13 mol % and no more than 35 mol %. It is preferable if the modified polyalkylene terephthalate resin is a modified polybutylene terephthalate resin, and the aromatic dicarboxylic acid and/or an ester compound thereof is isophthalic acid and/or an ester compound thereof.

Laser weldable compositions, products and uses thereof
Laser weldable compositions are provided which in various examples include a tricyclodecane dimethanol-modified copolymer, a terephthalate-type polyester and an inorganic filler. Compared with compositions without the tricyclodecane dimethanol-modified copolymer, the compositions of the invention have improved, uniform laser transmittance, thereby welded products including the compositions have improved bonding strength and require stronger tensile strength to be torn apart.
