An infeed chute for a material application machine includes a riser and a water spreading unit. The riser includes a sidewall and defines an infeed opening extending through the riser. The riser is configured to be coupled to an opening of a tank of a material application machine such that application material passed through the infeed opening of the riser enters the tank of the material application machine. The sidewall includes a water inlet formed therein. The water spreading unit is coupled to the water inlet and is configured to direct water laterally across the infeed chute.

An apparatus for clearing trash from a soil surface, the apparatus being configured to be mounted on a towable frame support and driven across the soil surface in a direction of travel (“D”), the apparatus comprising: a bearing housing; and a soil-engaging member rotatably mounted to the support, wherein the soil-engaging member is oriented to rotate about an axis (“A”) tilted from a perpendicular to the soil surface (“B”) by an acute angle (Φ1) towards one lateral side relative to the direction of travel (“D”), whereby contact between the soil-engaging member and the soil surface induces rotation of the soil-engaging member around the axis (“A”).

A liquid application apparatus for applying liquid to soil during a planting operation, having: a ground-engaging component mounted to a planter row unit, the planter row unit opening a planting trench, the planter row unit depositing seeds in the planting trench, the ground-engaging component disposed at least partially within said planting trench as the planter row unit traverses the field; a first liquid injection conduit mounted to said ground-engaging component and disposed to inject liquid into a first sidewall of said planting trench, and wherein said ground-engaging component is mounted in a housing via at least one of a height adjustment arm that is pivotably mounted in the housing to allow for height adjustment of said ground-engaging component, and a spring that is pivotably mounted in the housing to allow for vertical deflection of said ground-engaging component.

The separating device has a rotationally drivable separating element for separating seed grains and the portioning device has a rotationally drivable portioning element for producing granulate portions. The control device matches the rotational movements of the separating element and the portioning element to each other to implement a predetermined depositing relationship of the seed grains and the granulate portions on the agricultural area.

An agricultural machine for the combined application of seed and granulate on an agricultural area includes a separating device, a portioning device, and a control device. The separating device has a rotationally drivable separating element for separating seed grains and the portioning device has a rotationally drivable portioning element for producing granulate portions. The control device matches the rotational movements of the separating element and the portioning element to each other to implement a predetermined depositing relationship of the seed grains and the granulate portions on the agricultural area.

PREDICTIVE NUTRIENT MAP AND CONTROL
An information map is obtained by an agricultural system. The information map maps values of a characteristic at different geographic locations in a worksite. An in-situ sensor detects nutrient values as a mobile material application machine operates at the worksite. A predictive map generator generates a predictive map that maps predictive nutrient values at different geographic locations in the worksite based on a relationship between values of the characteristic in the information map and nutrient values detected by the in-situ sensor. The predictive map can be output and used in automated machine control.
COVER CROPPING DEVICE AND METHOD
A convertible sprayer and seeder is provided, including a liquids tank; one or more liquid discharge lines leading from the liquids tank to one or more nozzles, said nozzles being arranged along booms extending from the sprayer; a seed metering applicator; one or more seed lines, each connected from the seed metering applicator to each of said one or more liquid discharge lines; a venturi located at each connection between each seed line and each liquid discharge line; a spraying bypass mechanism associated with each of said one or more liquid discharge lines; and a seeding valve associated with each connection between the one or more seed lines and the one or more liquid discharge lines. When the seeding valve is closed the bypass mechanism allows spraying and when the seeding valve is opened, the bypass mechanism allows seeding. A method of seeding a cover or relay crop is also provided.
