Foam compositions comprising polylactic acid polymer, polyvinyl acetate polymer and plasticizer, articles, and methods of making and using same
Foam compositions are provided including a polylactic acid polymer; second (e.g., polyvinyl acetate) polymer having a glass transition temperature (T.sub.g) of at least 25° C.; and plasticizer. Also described are articles comprising the foam compositions, such as a sheet or hearing protection article. Methods of making and using the foam compositions are further described herein.
Composite article and related methods
A composite article comprises an article presenting a surface and a thermally expandable composition disposed on the surface of the article. The thermally expandable composition comprises (a) from about 35 to about 65 percent by weight of a polyolefin resin; (b) from about 2 to about 15 percent by weight of a thermoplastic resin; (c) from about 1 to about 6 percent by weight of a curing agent suitable for cross-linking the polyolefin resin (a); (d) from about 15 to about 45 percent by weight of filler; and (e) from about 1 to about 10 percent by weight of a chemical blowing agent which is activated at an activation temperature, each based on the total weight of the thermally expandable composition. Methods of preparing and using the composite article, and an assembly formed from the composite article, are also disclosed.
FOAM BODY, LAYERED FOAM BODY, RESIN SHEET, AND HOUSING BUILDING MATERIAL
The present invention aims to provide a foam, a laminated foam, and a resin sheet having good foaming properties, capable of exhibiting particularly excellent vibration-damping properties while being lightweight, and useful for recycling interlayer films for a laminated glass. The present invention also aims to provide a building material for housing including any of the foam, the laminated foam, and the resin sheet. Provide is a foam having a plurality of cells, the foam containing a polyvinyl acetal, a plasticizer, and a hydrogenated petroleum resin, the hydrogenated petroleum resin containing a compound having a softening point of 130° C. or higher.
Improving the properties in PMMA foams by using methacrylic amides
The present invention relates to novel PMMA foams and the production thereof. Here, polymers which have been obtained by copolymerization of methacrylamides such as N-isopropylmethacrylamide and without styrene are foamed. It has surprisingly been possible to establish that a stable, simple-to-produce PMMA foam which has very good properties, e.g. a very high compressive strength, and can be joined more simply to covering layers, especially in comparison with known PMMA foams, can be obtained according to the invention.
CHEMICAL FOAMING AGENTS CONTAINING TOSYL GROUPS
Chemical foaming agents having p-toluenesulfonyl groups. Processes for preparing foamed polyolefin compositions using chemical foaming agents having p-toluenesulfonyl groups. Articles of manufacture containing formed polyolefins prepared using chemical foaming agents having p-toluenesulfonyl groups.
FOAMS AND METHODS OF MAKING
Reaction mixtures, foams prepared from the reaction mixtures, articles containing the foams, and methods of making the foams are provided. The polymeric material in the foam is formed from a polymerizable composition that includes a di(meth)acrylate oligomer and a monomer having a single ethylenically unsaturated group. The foams are highly filled (e.g., at least 60 volume percent of the foam is the filler) and can be thermally conductive. Although the foams contain a large amount of filler, the foams can be compressed at least 40 volume percent with an applied pressure of 50 pounds per square inch (345 kiloPascals).
COMPOSITE WITH DIRECT BONDING BETWEEN RUBBER AND FOAM
This disclosure relates to a composite comprising (a) a rubber layer comprising a cured rubber and optionally a first copolymer having carboxyl groups or anhydride groups; and (b) a foam layer comprising a crosslinked ethylene vinyl acetate and optionally a second copolymer having carboxyl groups or glycidyl methacrylate groups; wherein the foam layer has at least one surface adhering to the rubber layer directly, and provided that either the first copolymer or the second copolymer is present, and the composite is free of glues or adhesive films in the interface between the rubber layer and the foam layer.
Phase transition material fluid and proppant formed therefrom
Provided are a phase transition material fluid and a proppant formed therefrom, wherein the components for preparing the phase transition material fluid comprise in percentages by mass: a supramolecular building block 10 to 60 wt %, a supramolecular functional unit 20 to 50 wt %, a dispersant 0.1 to 2 wt %, an inorganic co-builder 0.1 to 1 wt %, an initiator 0.1 to 1 wt %, the balance being a solvent. The supramolecular building block comprises a melamine-based substance and/or a triazine-based substance; the supramolecular functional unit comprises a dicyclopentadiene resin; and the dispersant includes a hydroxyl-bearing polysaccharide substance and a surfactant. After the phase transition material fluid enters the reservoir, it may form a solid substance to prop the fracture under the action of supramolecular chemistry and physics.
Self-fusing low density silicone
An adhesive free self-fusing material being either of open or closed cell polymer (silicone) based material that can be used to create a permanent elastic band for compression and support dressings. The proprietary polymer material upon contact with itself, initiates a room temperature reaction of self-vulcanization with the contact surfaces of itself. This eliminates the need for any adhesives which some patients experience negative reactions. In an example embodiment, the material comprises Vinyl stopped polydimethyl siloxane, amorphous silica, and dimethylpolysiloxane.
FOAMING COMPOSITION
This invention relates to a foaming composition, comprising at least one ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) copolymer; at least one foaming agent; at least one peroxide compound; at least one polyamine; at least one crosslinking enhancer; at least one primary antioxidant; and at least one secondary antioxidant; the content of the crosslinking enhancer is from 0.1 to 3% by weight based on the total weight of the composition. A foaming article cured from the foaming composition under the temperature range of 80 to 120 C. according to the present invention exhibits high initial volume expansion ratio at the baking window from 130 to 200 C. and shows excellent stability after storage.
