PHENOLIC FOAM
A phenolic foam formed from a composition comprising a phenolic resin, a blowing agent, an acid catalyst, and a surfactant comprising: (i) an ethoxylated castor oil, and (ii) a polysiloxane comprising a side chain comprising polyethylene oxide wherein the total molecular weight of the polyethylene oxide of the side chain comprises less than 50% of the total molecular weight of the polysiloxane.
Catalysts for polyurethane foam polyol premixes containing halogenated olefin blowing agents
The invention provides polyurethane and polyisocyanurate foams and methods for the preparation thereof. More particularly, the invention relates to closed-celled, polyurethane and polyisocyanurate foams and methods for their preparation. The foams are characterized by a fine uniform cell structure and little or no foam collapse. The foams are produced with a polyol premix composition which comprises a combination of a hydrohaloolefin blowing agent, a polyol, a silicone surfactant, and a non-amine catalyst used alone or in combination with an amine catalyst.
Dimensionally stable closed-cell and rigid foams produced with methylal blowing agent
A method of producing a closed-cell and rigid foam. The method comprises reacting an isocyanate composition including one or more polyisocyanates and a polyol composition including one or more polyols including one or more aromatic polyester polyols having a hydroxyl functionality of greater than 2 and one or more physical and/or chemical blowing agents including methylal to form a closed-cell and rigid foam configured to retain at least 85% of an initial volume of the closed-cell and rigid foam when exposed to about 97% relative humidity at about 70° C. for at least seven or more days.
AZEOTROPE OR AZEOTROPE-LIKE COMPOSITIONS OF 1,2,2-TRIFLUORO-1-TRIFLUOROMETHYLCYCLOBUTANE (TFMCB) AND APPLICATIONS THEREOF
The present disclosure provides minimum-boiling, homogeneous azeotropic and azeotrope-like compositions of 1,2,2-trifluoro-1-trifluoromethylcyclobutane (“TFMCB”) with each of ethanol, n-pentane, cyclopentane, trans-1,2-dichloroethylene, and perfluoro(2-methyl-3-pentanone).
Nucleating Agents for PIR Foams
The present application provides foams having improved insulation and thermal performance and processes of forming said foams. Exemplary foams described herein are prepared according to a process comprising reacting a foamable composition comprising a blowing agent and one or more nucleating agents, under conditions effective to form the foam.
Formulated waterborne polyurethane dispersion composition for stable ambient-dried foams
Foamable waterborne dispersions which form stable flexible foams under ambient cure conditions are disclosed, said foamable waterborne dispersions comprising: a polyurethane polymer formed from one or more aliphatic or cycloaliphatic polyisocyanate and at least two different polymeric polyol components selected from polyether polyol, polyester polyol, and polycarbonate polyol; wherein the ambient cure conditions include a temperature of from 4° C. to 32° C., and a humidity of 0% relative humidity to 90% relative humidity. Also disclosed are the flexible foams produced from the foamable waterborne dispersions, as well as methods of providing a space filling layer or space filling volume adjacent to or on a surface, said methods comprising applying to said surface a foamed sample of the foamable waterborne dispersions, and allowing the foamed sample of foamable waterborne dispersion to dry under ambient conditions to yield a stable flexible foam.
COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING A FLUOROOLEFIN
The present invention relates to compositions for use in refrigeration, air-conditioning, and heat pump systems wherein the composition comprises a fluoroolefin and at least one other component. The compositions of the present invention are useful in processes for producing cooling or heat, as heat transfer fluids, foam blowing agents, aerosol propellants, and fire suppression and fire extinguishing agents.
Mixtures containing 1.1.1.4.4.4.-hexafluorobutene and 1-chloro-3.3.3-trifluoropropene
The present invention relates to mixtures of 1,1,1,4,4,4-hexafluorobutene (1336mzzm) and 1-chloro-3,3,3-trifluoropropene (1233zd). The blends are useful as blowing agents for polymer foam, solvents, aerosol propellants and heat transfer media.
RIGID POLYURETHANE FOAM MADE WITH A HYDROCARBON BLOWING AGENT AND 1,1,1,4,4,4-HEXAFLUOROBUT-2-ENE
Polyurethane thermal insulating foam is made in the presence of a small amount of cis- and/or trans-1,1,1,4,4,4-hexafluorobut-2-ene and a hydrocarbon blowing agent. Very low lambda values are obtained.
