The invention relates to a modified geopolymer and a modified geopolymer composite comprising additive. The additive is preferably an athermanous additive. The modification is with one or more water-soluble compounds, the water-soluble compound is preferably selected from phosphorus compounds, nitrogen compounds, copper compounds, silver compounds, zinc compounds, tin compounds and magnesium compounds. Also, it relates to compositions which contain the modified geopolymer or modified geopolymer composite. The compositions preferably comprise vinyl aromatic polymer and are in the form of a foam.
Method for producing expanded thermoplastic elastomer particles
A process for production of expanded thermoplastic elastomer beads in the presence of a gaseous medium that surrounds thermoplastic elastomer beads. The process comprises a) an impregnating step, in which the gaseous medium has an impregnating temperature T.sub.a, and the absolute pressure of the gaseous medium is greater than ambient pressure, the thermoplastic elastomer beads impregnated with a blowing agent, b) an expanding step, in which the thermoplastic elastomer beads expand as they are exposed to a pressure reduction at a first expanding temperature T.sub.b, and c) optionally a fusing step, in which the expanded thermoplastic elastomer beads are fused together at a fusing temperature T.sub.c to form at least one shaped part.
CARBON NANOTUBE FILM STRUCTURE AND METHOD FOR MAKING
A carbon nanotube (CNT)/polymer film or CNT/polymer composite structure containing CNTs, arranged uniformly in a randomly oriented distribution in the polymer matrix. The CNT sheet is manufactured by applying a highly dispersed CNT-polymer-solvent suspension, mixed using ultrasonication, over a carrier, using a coating process, and drying to form the CNT/polymer film. The CNT film is useful in making CNT composite laminates and structures having utility for electro-thermal heating, deicing, shielding for wire & cable, thermal interface pads, energy storage, heat dissipation, conductive composites, antennas, reflectors, and electromagnetic environmental effects (E3), such as lightning strike protection, EMP protection, directed energy protection, and EMI shielding in a variety of form factors such as sheets, roll stocks, and tapes.
LOW DIELECTRIC RESIN COMPOSITION AND AN ARTICLE OF MANUFACTURE PREPARED THEREFROM
The present disclosure generally relates to a resin composition having a low dielectric constant (Dk) and a low dielectric dissipation factor (Df) including a crosslinker selected from a vinylbenzyl indene compound, a vinylbenzyl fluorene compound and a mixture thereof and a resin selected from a polyphenylene ether derivative, a hydrocarbon thermoplastic and a compound containing one or more maleimide groups.
LATEX HYPERBRANCHED ANION EXCHANGERS
A method for making modified latex particles, wherein the particles comprise condensation polymers bonded to functional groups on the latex particles and the method for forming the condensation polymer comprises reacting the amino groups present on the latex particles with (i) at least a first polyfunctional compound, having at least two functional moieties reactive with said functional groups of the latex, or (ii) at least a first polyfunctional compound, having at least two functional moieties reactive with said functional groups of the latex and at least a first amine compound, comprising amino groups selected from the group consisting of ammonia, a primary and a secondary amine to form a first condensation polymer reaction product comprising ion exchanging sites and a first unreacted excess of functional moieties.
A PROCESS FOR PREPARING CORE-SHELL PARTICLES HAVING A POLYMER CORE AND A CONTINUOUS SILICA SHELL, AN AQUEOUS POLYMER DISPERSION OBTAINABLE BY SAID PROCESS, A REDISPERSIBLE POLYMER POWDER, AND A COMPOSITION COMPRISING THE REDISPERSIBLE POLYMER POWDER
The invention relates to a process for preparing core-shell particles having a polymer core and a continuous silica shell. The in situ formed core-shell architecture suppresses film formation of the polymer and simplifies the subsequent drying process. The finally obtained free flowing polymer powder exhibits improved redispersibility and storage stability and imparts building material compositions improved viscosity and faster skin-forming time.
Injection-foamable styrenic monomer-diolefin copolymer, a method for the preparation thereof and use thereof
A styrenic monomer-diolefin copolymer comprises polystyrenic monomer micro-blocks and polydiolefin micro-blocks, in which the content of styrenic monomer units is 10-80 wt %, the ratio of diolefin units of 1,2-structure is less than 30% in the total diolefin units, and the number-average molecular weight (Mn) of the copolymer is 25,000-500,000. The preparation methods and uses in foam products thereof are also disclosed.
A PROCESS FOR MODIFYING POLYMER PARTICLES OF AN AQUEOUS POLYMER DISPERSION, AN AQUEOUS POLYMER DISPERSION OBTAINABLE BY SAID PROCESS, A REDISPERSIBLE POLYMER POWDER, AND A COMPOSITION COMPRISING THE REDISPERSIBLE POLYMER POWDER
The invention relates to a process for modifying polymer particles of an aqueous polymer dispersion in which positively or negatively charged polymer particles are provided with an inorganic salt shell. The inorganic shell leads to an improved drying ability and storage stability of the latex and improves the storage stability of the resulting polymer powder. The obtained polymer powder exhibits an improved viscosity and faster skin-forming time in the final application and is therefore particularly useful in a building material composition.
POLYPHENYL ETHER RESIN COMPOSITION AND PREPREG, LAMINATED BOARD AND PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD CONTAINING SAME
Provided are a polyphenyl ether resin composition and a prepreg and a laminated board containing same. The polyphenyl ether resin composition comprises the following components: (1) a tetrafunctional or higher multifunctional acrylate-modified thermosetting polyphenyl ether resin; and (2) a vinyl eresin cross-linking agent, the weight of the vinyl resin cross-linking agent being 40-100 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of the tetrafunctional or higher multifunctional acrylate-modified thermosetting polyphenyl ether resin. The modified thermosetting polyphenyl ether resin, due to containing a tetrafunctional or higher multifunctional acrylate active group, can cross-link more vinyl resin cross-linking agents. Not only the prepared high-speed electronic circuit substrate has low dielectric constant and dielectric loss, but also double bonds in side chains of the vinyl resin cross-linking agent are reacted completely in a resin curing system, so that the high-speed electronic circuit substrate has a better thermo-oxidative aging resistance.
