A foamed thermoplastic material includes a thermoplastic material exhibiting, in its unfoamed state, a particular flammability index, flame growth rate, and specific extinction area. The foamed thermoplastic material further includes a plurality of cells having a number average mean diameter of 5 to 150 micrometers present in an amount effective to provide the foamed thermoplastic material with a density that is 10 to 90 percent of the density of the unfoamed thermoplastic material. The foamed thermoplastic material exhibits a desirable tensile elongation and dielectric constant. A process for forming the foamed thermoplastic material, articles including the foamed thermoplastic material, and an article-forming process are also described.

A method for producing a tire sidewall rubber member according to an embodiment comprises: a first kneading step of preparing a first kneaded product by kneading a diene rubber, carbon black, a compound represented by formula (I) (wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkenyl group or an alkynyl group, and M.sup.+ is Na.sup.+, K.sup.+ or Li.sup.+), and zinc oxide; and a second kneading step of adding wax and/or stearic acid to the first kneaded product, followed by kneading. Thus, low heat generation properties are improved while suppressing the deterioration of tear resistance.

The invention relates to an elastomeric film-forming composition comprising (a) a copolymer formed from monomers consisting of chlorobutadiene and an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid or ester, and (b) one or more cross-linking agents. The invention also relates to dipped articles, gloves, methods of manufacture and uses involving the composition.

The present invention provides a layered product comprising a release layer that can be formed from an aqueous coating liquid, that is quickly released from the substrate when alkaline treatment is performed, and that has excellent water resistance. The layered product of the present invention is a layered product comprising a release layer on a substrate, the release layer comprising a granular carboxylic anhydride-modified olefin resin and a binding part containing an acid group-free thermoplastic resin, the carboxylic anhydride-modified olefin resin having an average particle size of 0.5 to 20 ?m, the binding part having a thickness of 0.25 to 20 ?m, and the release layer having an actual acid value of 100 mg KOH/m.sup.2 or more.

PROCESS FOR EPOXIDATION OF UNSATURATED POLYMER
A process for epoxidation of an unsaturated polymer involves mixing an unsaturated polymer and a peroxy acid in an absence of solvent to produce an epoxidized polymer. The process may require no solvent, require no catalyst, require no or little applied external heat input, require no applied cooling, require less epoxidation agent, be faster and/or result in more efficient conversion of the unsaturated polymer.
SEMIAROMATIC COPOLYAMIDE RESIN AND POLYAMIDE MOLDING COMPOSITION CONSISTING OF THE SAME
The present invention discloses a semiaromatic copolyamide resin and a polyamide molding composition consisting of the same, consisting of following repeat units: (A) 26-80 mol % of units derived from para-amino benzoic acid; (B) 4-70 mol % of units derived from 11-aminoundecanoic acid or undecanolactam, and 0-70 mol % of units derived from another amino acids having 6 to 36 carbon atoms or units consisting of a lactam having 6-36 carbon atoms; (C) 0-37 mol % of units derived from a diamine unit having 4 to 36 carbon atoms; and (D) 0-37 mol % of units derived from a diacid unit having 6 to 36 carbon atoms; wherein, (A)+(B)+(C)+(D)=100 mol %; and molar contents of the units derived from para-amino benzoic acid and those derived from 11-aminoundecanoic acid or undecanolactam are not equal to 50 mol % simultaneously.
SEMIAROMATIC POLYAMIDE RESIN AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF AND POLYAMIDE MOLDING COMPOSITION CONSISTING OF THE SAME
The present invention discloses a semiaromatic polyamide resin, a preparation method thereof, and a polyamide molding composition consisting of the same, which consists of following components: (A) 20 to 95 wt % of a PA10T homopolymer derived from 1,10-decanediamine and terephthalic acid; and (B) 5 to 80 wt % of a PA6T homopolymer derived from 1,6-hexanediamine and terephthalic acid.
Particularly, (A)+(B)=100 wt %.
In the present invention, by adding a certain amount of the PA10T homopolymer into the PA6T homopolymer, a melting point of the PA6T homopolymer can be significantly decreased to be below a decomposition temperature thereof, and thereby a processability of the PA6T homopolymer is improved. The prepared semiaromatic polyamide resin has a decreased melting point, and may be processed normally. The polyamide molding composition consisting of the semiaromatic polyamide resin has a good processability, and has excellent surface properties.
POLYMER FILMS AND DETERGENT PACKETS CONTAINING THEM
Provided is a water dispersible polymer film that is useful as an encasing material for detergent packets. The water dispersible polymer film comprises: a polyvinyl alcohol substrate; and a barrier layer coated on at least one surface of the substrate, each barrier layer independently comprising (a) a first copolymer that is an at least partially neutralized maleic anhydride-C2-C8 olefin copolymer or its maleic acid counterpart; or (b) a second copolymer that is an at least partially neutralized ethylene (meth)acrylic acid copolymer, or (c) a mixture of the first copolymer and the second copolymer.
Microporous membrane of polyethylene-based composite material and preparation method thereof
A microporous membrane of a polyethylene-based composite material, including high density and high crystallinity of polyethylene as a base material. The polyethylene is modified by a modifying agent accounting for 10-25 wt. % of the membrane and including a moderate molecular weight of rubber selected from polyisobutylene (PIB), ethylene-propylene methylene copolymer (EPM), or a mixture thereof, the rubber having a dynamic viscosity of between 50 and 2000 Pa.Math.S at 100? C. and a weight average molecular weight of between 90,000 and 250,000. The modified polyethylene is dissolved in a solvent and a pore-forming agent for pore formation.
