There are provided a thermoplastic resin composition capable of bonding a cyclic polyolefin-based polymer and an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer with sufficient strength and to provide a laminate using the same.
Binder for injection moulding compositions
A binder for an injection moulding composition including: from 40 to 55 volume percent of a polymeric base, from 35 to 45 volume percent of a mixture of waxes or a mixture of wax and palm oil, and at least 5 volume percent of at least one surfactant, wherein the polymeric base is formed of copolymers of ethylene and methacrylic or acrylic acid, copolymers of ethylene and propylene and/or maleic anhydride-grafted polypropylene, and polymers soluble in isopropyl alcohol, propyl alcohol and/or turpentine, and chosen from the group including a cellulose acetate butyrate, a polyvinyl butyral and a copolyamide, the respective quantities of the binder components being such that their sum is equal to 100 volume percent of the binder.

Process for Making Crosslinked Cable Insulation Using High Melt Strength Ethylene-Based Polymer Made in a Tubular Reactor and Optionally Modified with a Branching Agent
An insulated wire or cable is made by a process comprising the steps of: (A) extruding onto a covered or uncovered metal conductor or optical fiber a composition having a DF measured at 130° C. (60 Hz, 2 kV) or 120° C. (60 Hz, 8 kV) or 100° C. (60 Hz, 8 kV) of ≤0.5% and comprising: (1) a high melt strength ethylene-based polymer made in a tubular reactor, and (2) a peroxide, and (B) crosslinking the high melt strength ethylene-based polymer.
POLYMER COMPOSITION
A polymer composition comprising: at least one polymer ingredient selected from the group consisting of a polymer (A) having a side chain (a) containing a hydrogen-bonding cross-linking moiety with a carbonyl-containing group and/or a nitrogen-containing heterocycle and having a glass transition point of 25 C. or lower, and a polymer (B) containing a hydrogen-bonding cross-linking moiety and a covalent-bonding cross-linking moiety in a side chain and having a glass transition point of 25 C. or lower, wherein both the polymer (A) and the polymer (B) are a reaction product of a specific copolymer (X) with a cross-linking agent.

A polymer composition comprising: at least one polymer ingredient selected from the group consisting of a polymer (A) having a side chain (a) containing a hydrogen-bonding cross-linking moiety with a carbonyl-containing group and/or a nitrogen-containing heterocycle and having a glass transition point of 25 C. or lower, and a polymer (B) containing a hydrogen-bonding cross-linking moiety and a covalent-bonding cross-linking moiety in a side chain and having a glass transition point of 25 C. or lower, wherein both the polymer (A) and the polymer (B) are a reaction product of a specific copolymer (X) with a cross-linking agent.

A polymer composition contains a polypropylene-based polymer, a vinyl ester containing copolymer which includes ethylene, one or more branched vinyl ester monomers, and optionally, vinyl acetate. A method for producing a polymer composition includes mixing a polypropylene-based polymer and a vinyl ester containing copolymer at a temperature in a range from 20° C. to 300° C. to form the polymer composition. An article contains the polymer composition.

A polymer composition contains a polypropylene-based polymer, a vinyl ester containing copolymer which includes ethylene, one or more branched vinyl ester monomers, and optionally, vinyl acetate. A method for producing a polymer composition includes mixing a polypropylene-based polymer and a vinyl ester containing copolymer at a temperature in a range from 20° C. to 300° C. to form the polymer composition. An article contains the polymer composition.

A gas-barrier resin (A) having an oxygen permeability coefficient of 1.0×10.sup.−14 (cm.sup.3.Math.cm/cm.sup.2.Math.s.Math.Pa) or less; and a copolymer (B) containing monomer structural units represented by the formula (1), the formula (2), and the formula (3): ##STR00001##
where: R.sup.1 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; R.sup.2 represents a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms that may be substituted with a halogen atom, a hydroxy group, an alkoxy group, or an amino group; 1, m, and n represent numerical values representing molar proportions of the respective monomer structural units, and n may represent 0; and p represents an integer of from 1 to 4, wherein a ratio of a mass of the copolymer (B) to a total mass of the gas-barrier resin (A) and the copolymer (B) is from 1 mass % to 40 mass %.
