The present invention relates to a polymer composite material comprising an aramid nanofiber (ANF), and a method for preparing same. More specifically, the present invention relates to an arylene ether-based polymer or arylene ether imide-based polymer composite material which is obtained by mixing an arylene ether-based polymer or an arylene ether imide-based polymer with aramid nanofibers dispersed in a polar aprotic solution or by adding and polymerizing monomers in the dispersion of aramid nanofibers.

The present disclosure is directed to a component for a telecommunication apparatus, the component comprising a molded product made of a resin composition. The resin composition comprises (a) a matrix resin and (b) titanium dioxide. The (A) matrix resin comprises (A-a) a polyphenylene ether-based resin. The sum of the contents of the (A-a) polyphenylene ether-based resin, and (A-b) a block copolymer containing at least one block mainly composed of an aromatic vinyl monomer unit and at least one block mainly composed of a conjugated diene monomer unit and/or a hydrogenated product of the block copolymer with respect to 100 parts by mass of the (A) matrix resin is 75 parts by mass or more. The average L/D of the (B) titanium dioxide is 1.2 or more and 6.0 or less, and the content of titanium dioxide having an L/D of greater than 7.0 is less than 10%.

A poly(phenylene ether) copolymer of 2-methyl-6-phenylphenol and a dihydric phenol having an absolute number average molecular weight of 1,000 to 10,000 grams/mole is made by polymerization of 2-methyl-6-phenylphenol and a dihydric phenol in the presence of molecular oxygen, a polymerization catalyst comprising a metal ion and at least one amine ligand, and a solvent composed of at least 95 weight percent of a C.sub.1-C.sub.3 alcohol selected from methanol, ethanol, 1-propanol, and 2-propanol. The poly(phenylene ether) copolymer can be, for example, a copolymer of 2-methyl-6-phenylphenol, 2,2-bis(3,5-dimethyl-4-hydroxyphenol)propane, and optionally 2,6-dimethylphenol. The poly(phenylene ether) copolymer finds utility in curable compositions, cured compositions, and articles.
