CLITORIS SHIELD
20230248462 · 2023-08-10 ·

A clitoris shield has an oval body with a convex surface and a concave surface, a rectangular laser guide extending longitudinally from the oval body; and an arcuate laser guide extending radially from the convex surface. The clitoris shield is made of a material having a color that disperses, reflects, and/or blocks laser energy. The arcuate laser guard has a longitudinal axis parallel to the longitudinal axis of the oval body and the rectangular laser guide. The concave surface fits a clitoris. The clitoris shield prevents a woman from getting burned on her clitoris during laser hair removal, avoiding pain and permanent damage to the clitoris.

Shape memory surgical sponge for retracting the dura during a laminectomy procedure
11717372 · 2023-08-08 · ·

Methods and apparatus for retracting the dura away from a cutting tool during a laminectomy procedure. The method includes inserting a memory shape surgical sponge (patty) into an initial epidural space between the dura and the tool used to decompress (e.g., drill) the lamina. As the lamina is further decompressed, the patty tends to spring back toward its nominal position, urging the dura away from the decompression and isolating the dura from the drill.

Rather than rely solely upon pupillary occlusion or tracking of eye movement to protect the fundus from accidental exposure to electromagnetic radiation, the present invention also utilizes an electromagnetic radiation pathway with a profile such that the energy density at the iris is greater than the energy density at the posterior portion of the eye. This disparity in energy density allows for efficacy at the anterior iris treatment site, without injury to the fundus.

Robotic laser treatment safety system

A safety system for laser treatment, comprising a robotic controller configured to monitor a distance between a treatment device and a treatment area, the robotic controller configured to detect a manual movement of the treatment device and to generate a counterbalancing force in response to the manual movement and wherein the robotic controller is configured to increase the counterbalancing force if the distance between the treatment device and the treatment area is less than a predetermined distance.
