Applicator for robot-assisted surgery
The present disclosure relates to a laparoscopic applicator for dispensing a substance, e.g. a substance comprising a haemostatic agent, at a selected site by means of a surgical robotic arm, the laparoscopic applicator comprising a delivery tube configured for holding the substance under a pressure; and an applicator tip connected to a distal end of the delivery tube, wherein the applicator tip is configured for being controllable operated by the robotic arm by being spatially manipulated by the robotic arm, and controllably releasing the substance from the delivery tube by the robotic arm.
TOURNIQUET ASSEMBLIES AND SYSTEMS, AND METHODS FOR CONTROLLING TOURNIQUETS
A tourniquet for occluding blood flow to a limb is improved by the addition of proximal and distal strain gauges. The proximal strain gauge may be monitored under conditions of total blood flow occlusion for time-varying signals indicative of volumetric limb changes arising from the subject's blood flow in the proximal section of the limb. Upon a change in limb occlusion pressure, the signals from the proximal strain gauge can be observed to change also, and the working pressure in the tourniquet can be adjusted safely in response. Automated control systems may further use inputs from a distal strain gauge and/or from a sensor that detects induced pressure changes within the tourniquet to improve the control of the tourniquet working pressure during operation to avoid unwanted blood flow past the tourniquet.
Devices and Methods for Treating Acute Kidney Injury
A catheter devices/systems and methods therefrom are described herein for treating acute kidney injury, especially the contrast-induced acute kidney injury wherein the devices may prevent the contrast dyes from entering into kidney and/or facilitate blood flow of kidney by said catheter system.
FIBER-OPTIC REALSHAPE SENSOR FOR ENHANCED DOPPER MEASUREMENT DISPLAY
A Doppler ultrasound system for executing Doppler ultrasound tests. The Doppler ultrasound system employs an ultrasound probe (40), a vessel FORS sensor (20) and a Doppler ultrasound controller (60). In operation, an ultrasound probe (40) transmits an ultrasound beam through a bodily vessel (e.g., a blood vessel) for generating imaging data illustrative of an ultrasound image of fluid flow through the bodily vessel (e.g., blood flow through a blood vessel), and the vessel FORS sensor (20) is introduced into the bodily vessel for generating vessel sensing data informative of a reconstructed shape of the vessel FORS sensor (20) within the bodily vessel relative to the ultrasound probe (40). Responsive to the data, the Doppler ultrasound controller (60) estimates a parametric relationship between the fluid flow through the bodily vessel and a transmission by the ultrasound probe (40) of the ultrasound beam through the bodily vessel.
Methods, systems, and devices for the treatment of stenosis
Catheter system, devices and methods for diagnosing and treating lateral stenosis causing back pain and or leg pain. The devices comprise a tubular part for insertion into a working cannula to self-position itself safely within the foramen, and minimize the risk of displacement medially or laterally, to prevent nerve or dura injury. An expandable membrane is configured to maintain the catheter device within the foramen. Expansion of this membrane would decompress the nerve within the foramen by opening the foraminal canal as the membrane expands. Inserts may be used in connection with the expandable member.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR THE MOBILE ANALYSIS OF EXCREMENT IN A TOILET
The invention relates to a device for determining physiological data through analysis of human excrement in a toilet (T) by means of at least one indicator and/or sensor, and to a method for determining physiological data by analysis of human excrement in a toilet (T) by measurement of urine and/or stool values. The problem addressed by the invention is that of achieving maximally universal use of the device and thus broad dissemination, including in the case of a wide variety of toilet designs, with reasonable design effort and manageable costs. This problem is solved by a measurement system, in which an indicator (11) or sensor can be brought into a measurement position, in which sufficient contact with the urine or stool to be examined occurs, by means of an arm (10) for each measurement, wherein the indicator (11) or sensor is/are designed as (an) independent unit(s), and by a corresponding method in which a plurality of previously determined values are measured and then processed further and forwarded as applicable.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR ADJUSTING AN EXTERNAL FIXATION FRAME
A tool for implementing a correction plan in an external fixation frame having a plurality of adjustment elements or screws, for example, generally includes a driver, a motor, a controller, and a processor. The driver is adapted to engage and rotate each of the screws. The motor is coupled the driver and adapted to rotate the driver. The controller is connected to the motor and configured to control operation of the motor. The controller may determine whether the tool is engaged with a strut and which strut is engaged, and may determine how much the strut has rotated, taking into account intentional or unintentional manual rotation of the tool. The tool may also include features to help ensure proper engagement between the drive and the strut. Variations may be provided in which similar functionality is provided with manual rotation of a motorless tool.
Coil system and method for obtaining volumetric physiological measurements
A coil device is provided having a member adapted to extend around and conform to an outer surface of a subject and a conductor adapted to extend only once around a first portion of the subject. The coil device can be positioned about the subject in order to measure a volume of the subject. When placed about the subject in the presence of a relatively homogeneous magnetic field, the conductor can generate a signal indicative of a volume of the first portion of the subject. The coil device may also include two or more conductors separately generating signals indicating volumes of two or more corresponding portions of the subject. In some cases the coil device includes associated authorization data that can limit use of the coil device. Systems and methods incorporating the coil device are also provided.

Breast implant sizer assembly and method
One aspect of the present disclosure relates to a breast implant sizer assembly for accurately sizing surgically implantable breast implants prior to implantation. The breast implant sizer assembly can include an inflatable, flexible shell containing an adjustable volume of liquid and a valve assembly, once filled with liquid, that is associated with the shell and configured like an anatomically correct nipple. The breast implant sizer assembly can have a size, shape, and weight that mimics the size, shape, and weight of a breast implant. In addition, the breast implant sizer assembly is disposable, intended for single use by a patient, allows for use in the home and everyday settings, and provides accurate, actionable information to a surgeon or other medical professional in regards to selecting actual breast implant sizes for clinical use.
