Bone delivery apparatus and methods
Apparatus for delivery of bone includes a syringe body and a plunger. The syringe body includes a tip at a bottom thereof, a funnel-shaped top at the top thereof, and a tubular section having a generally cylindrical interior wall defining a passageway extending from the funnel-shaped top to the tip. The plunger includes an elongate piston, a press head, and a handle. The piston extends between the press head at a lower end of the plunger, and the handle at an upper end of the plunger. The plunger is removably received within the passageway, with an extent of the plunger extending out of the funnel-shaped top away from the syringe body. The syringe body may be loaded with one or more bone pellets or cartridges containing bone.
Thrombus detection device and method
A method for thrombus detection comprising employing an elongate tube having at least one opening at a distal end of the elongate tube. A coupling is attached or formed at the proximal end of the elongate tube. The detection of the presence of a thrombus is performed by using a syringe to withdraw blood through the at least one thrombus detection opening at the distal end of the elongate tube. If little or no blood is withdrawn, or if the withdrawal of blood is more difficult than expected, the presence of a thrombus obstructing the openings is indicated.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SIZING AND INTRODUCTION OF SOFT-TISSUE ALLOGRAFTS
The present disclosure includes systems, methods, kits, and individual tools (e.g., trial sizers and delivery devices) for medical procedures involving a soft-tissue allograft for the correction of skeletal impairments (e.g., misalignments, arthritis, etc.).
DEVICES AND METHODS FOR TREATING ACUTE KIDNEY INJURY
A catheter devices/systems and methods therefrom are described herein for treating acute kidney in-jury, especially the contrast-induced acute kidney injury wherein the devices prevent the contrast dyes from entering into kidney and/or facilitate blood flow of kidney by said catheter system.
BONE CEMENT INJECTION DEVICE
A bone cement injection device includes an outer barrel including a side slot; an injection unit movably received in the outer barrel and including an inner tube that defines a first hollow section therein and an outer tube that defmes, in combination with the inner tube, a second hollow section therebetween and includes a guide tube mounted to the outer tube to be movably received in the side slot and in communication with the second hollow section; and a pusher unit movably received in the first hollow section and positioned against a bottom end of the outer barrel. Bone cement is filled in the first hollow section and is driven by the pusher unit into a patient's bone. An air compressor is used in combination with the guide tube to induce a pressure difference between inside and outside of the bone to help injection the bone cement into the bone.
SYSTEM AND PROCESS FOR ULTRASONIC DETERMINATION OF LONG BONE ORIENTATION
Systems and process are provided for a tool to create a registration matrix for a bone in three dimensional workspaces relative to a system using the absence of an ultrasonic reflection from an ultrasonic sensor attached to a tracking system to build the registration matrix model. The system has hardware and software that creates an absence of ultrasonic reflection, and utilizes the information to identify the location and orientation of a set of conic volumes in order to build an estimate of the position and orientation of the bone relative to the base system, and to use the position and orientation changes to update the registration and to detect bone motion. Embodiments of invention provide a process of registering part or all of a bone without directly touching the bone using ultrasound, and as a result support a non-invasive or less-invasive approach to bone registration and bone motion detection for a system.
INDEXING DOSE DISPENSING DEVICE
A dispensing device is disclosed which provides for dispensing multiple doses from a cylindrical volume. An actuator button moves a tooth to engage a series of links which move a stopper to dispense the doses.
Method and apparatus for identifying and tracking biological fluids using RFID
A system and method of tracking, assigning and releasing biological fluids. The system and method identifies, assigns and releases biological fluid products from controlled storage based on medical criteria supported by the use of RFID technology.
RECOVERY SYSTEM FOR N20
A system for the recovery of expanded refrigerant from a cryotreatment system for storage and disposal may generally include first fluid flow path having a first compressor and a fluid recovery reservoir, and a closed-loop second fluid flow path having a thermal exchange device that is in thermal communication with the fluid recovery reservoir, a second compressor, and a condenser. The first fluid flow path may include a primary refrigerant from a cryotreatment system and the closed-loop second fluid flow path may contain a secondary refrigerant for cooling the primary refrigerant within the fluid recovery reservoir. The refrigerant recovery conduit may be in fluid communication with both the cryotreatment system and a medical facility scavenging system. The refrigerant recovery conduit and the cryotreatment system may be located within the same cryotreatment console.
Methods and apparatus for treating disorders of the ear nose and throat
Methods and apparatus for treating disorders of the ear, nose, throat or paranasal sinuses, including methods and apparatus for dilating ostia, passageways and other anatomical structures, endoscopic methods and apparatus for endoscopic visualization of structures within the ear, nose, throat or paranasal sinuses, navigation devices for use in conjunction with image guidance or navigation system and hand held devices having pistol type grips and other handpieces.
