Fastener cartridge assemblies and staple retainer cover arrangements

A cover member for a surgical staple cartridge. The cover member is configured to retain a wedge sled within the staple cartridge in a starting position when the cover member is attached to the body of the staple cartridge. The cover member includes a top portion that covers all of the fastener openings in the deck of the staple cartridge when the cover is attached to the cartridge.

SURGICAL KNIFE SAFETY HANDLE

A surgical knife safety device having a handle, a blade connected to the handle, and a guard carried by the handle for sliding movement between a retracted position in which the blade is exposed for use, and an extended position for covering the sharp cutting edge of the blade. In the retracted position, an enlarged guard radius is provided at the distal end of the handle to allow improved handle control and blade orientation. The enlarged guard radius is positioned to allow the user to firmly grip a large distal handle portion which is preferably molded as a single piece with the blade holder, preventing unwanted blade or handle movement due to guard mechanism tolerances.

Safety Mechanism
20220015801 · 2022-01-20 ·

A safety mechanism is disclosed configured for shielding a distal tip of an elongate medical device. The safety mechanism includes a sheath having a body defining a lumen extending axially and including a shroud extending axially and having one or more sheath apertures disposed therethrough. The safety mechanism further includes a clip, comprising one or more arms, each including a tab, a plate, and a grip, the tab including a keyhole aperture. The first arm and the second arm configured to transition between a first configuration and a second configuration, and an elongate biasing member extending from the first arm to the second arm and configured to bias the first arm and the second arm towards the second configuration. Transitioning from the first configuration to the second configuration disengages the sheath from a needle hub and engages the sheath with a tip of the elongate medical device.

SNAP-FIT CUTTING GUARD

A tissue guard includes a body defining an open proximal end, an open distal end, and a lumen extending through the body between the open proximal end and the open distal end. A lip extends radially outwardly from the open proximal end of the body, the lip including a finger extending from an exterior peripheral surface thereof. The finger includes a flange at a distal end thereof adapted to operably engage an underside of a proximal ring of an access device to secure the tissue guard therein.

Robotic system for shoulder arthroplasty using stemless implant components

Robotic systems and methods for robotic arthroplasty. The robotic system includes a machining station and a guidance station. The guidance station tracks movement of various objects in the operating room, such as a surgical tool, a humerus of a patient, and a scapula of the patient. The guidance station tracks these objects for purposes of controlling movement of the surgical tool relative to virtual cutting boundaries or other virtual objects associated with the humerus and scapula to facilitate preparation of bone to receive a shoulder implant system. The virtual objects are located based on density data of the bone such that, when one or more shoulder implants are fully seated in the bone, distal portions of the implants are located in a first region of the bone having a density characteristic greater than an adjacent second region of the bone.

System, apparatus, and method for cutting bone during an orthopaedic surgical procedure

The present disclosure relates generally to orthopaedic surgical tools used to cut and/or resect a bone of a patient during an orthopaedic surgical procedure such as, for example, a joint replacement procedure.

Apparatus and method for septal punch

In some embodiments, a method includes a shaft having a side catheter guide attached thereto via a guide coupler into an inferior vena cava and a superior vena cava such that the guide coupler is disposed in a right atrium, and applying a distal force to a proximal portion of the side catheter guide such that a distal end of the side catheter guide deflects laterally about the guide coupler towards a septum. The method further includes extending a side catheter that is disposed within the side catheter guide distally from the side catheter guide towards and into contact with the septum. The method further includes, with the side catheter in contact with the septum, extending a septum penetrator that is slidably disposed within the side catheter distally from the side catheter such that the septum penetrator pierces the septum.

SURGICAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

A surgical protective equipment includes: a first boundary surface having a horseshoe shape in a plan view; a second boundary surface disposed face-to-face with the first boundary surface and having a horseshoe shape in a plan view; an inner surface disposed between the first boundary surface and the second boundary surface, and forming a groove by connecting an inner end of the first boundary surface and an inner end of the second boundary surface to each other; and an outer surface connecting an outer end of the first boundary surface and an outer end of the second boundary surface, wherein a surgical incision area is inserted in the groove.

SURGICAL STAPLING DEVICE WITH KNIFE BLADE LOCK
20220000475 · 2022-01-06 ·

A surgical stapling device includes a cartridge assembly including a cartridge body, a staple pusher, a knife assembly, and a locking device. The locking device is configured to prevent readvancement of the knife assembly.

Reload assembly for a circular stapling device
11166728 · 2021-11-09 · ·

A reload assembly includes a shell housing, a knife carrier, and at least one engagement member. The shell housing includes an inner housing portion and an outer housing portion that is spaced from the outer housing portion to define an annular cavity. The knife carrier defines a longitudinal axis and supports a knife. The knife carrier also defines a stepped central bore having a distal portion and a proximal portion and has a shoulder positioned between the distal and proximal portions. The at least one engagement member is supported on the knife carrier and is positioned to engage the inner housing portion of the shell housing when the knife carrier is in its retracted position to retain the knife carrier in the retracted position.
