SMART CARTRIDGE WAKE UP OPERATION AND DATA RETENTION
An electronic system for a surgical instrument is disclosed. The electronic system comprises a main power supply circuit configured to supply electrical power to a primary circuit. A supplementary power supply circuit configured to supply electrical power to a secondary circuit. A short circuit protection circuit coupled between the main power supply circuit and the supplementary power supply circuit. The supplementary power supply circuit is configured to isolate itself from the main power supply circuit when the supplementary power supply circuit detects a short circuit condition at the secondary circuit. The supplementary power supply circuit is configured to rejoin the main power supply circuit and supply power to the secondary circuit, when the short circuit condition is remedied.

The jaw assembly has a pair of jaw members fixed to the distal clip housing by a first pin oriented orthogonally relative to the longitudinal axis. The jaw adapter yoke is operatively connected to the jaw members. The proximal delivery catheter is configured to transmit linear motion along and torsion about the longitudinal axis to at least a portion of the distal clip assembly. At least one of the jaw members is configured to rotate about the first pin between an open and a closed configuration.
DEVICES AND METHODS FOR APPLYING A HEMOSTATIC CLIP ASSEMBLY

The shaft spring includes an annular portion wherein the release pin housing is configured and adapted to interfere with the annular portion of the shaft spring. A distal clip assembly is removably connected to the distal end of the elongated catheter body. The proximal delivery catheter is configured to transmit linear motion along and torsion about the longitudinal axis to at least a portion of the distal clip assembly.
CO-MANIPULATION SURGICAL SYSTEM HAVING MULTIPLE OPERATIONAL MODES FOR USE WITH SURGICAL INSTRUMENTS FOR PERFORMING LAPAROSCOPIC SURGERY
Co-manipulation robotic systems are described herein that may be used for assisting with laparoscopic surgical procedures. The co-manipulation robotic systems allow a surgeon to use commercially-available surgical tools while providing benefits associated with surgical robotics. Advantageously, the surgical tools may be seamlessly coupled to the robot arms using a disposable coupler while the reusable portions of the robot arm remain in a sterile drape. Further, the co-manipulation robotic system may operate in multiple modes to enhance usability and safety, while allowing the surgeon to position the instrument directly with the instrument handle and further maintain the desired position of the instrument using the robot arm.
Energy control device, treatment system, and actuating method of energy control device
In an energy control device, a processor detects, based on a detection result of an electric characteristic value in relation to an electric energy which is output from an energy output source to an ultrasonic transducer, a gradual decrease start time at which the electric characteristic value starts a gradual decrease after a gradual increase. The processor executes, based on a fact that a time rate of change of the electric characteristic value become greater than a predetermined threshold after the gradual decrease start time, at least one of causing the energy output source to stop or reduce the output of the electric energy to the ultrasonic transducer, and notifying that the time rate of change become greater than the predetermined threshold.
Heart-lung machine with augmented reality display
This document describes devices used during surgical procedures for the treatment of heart conditions. For example, this document describes technology to monitor the operations of a heart-lung machine and then shows associated read outs on a head-worn display in order to provide an augmented-reality presentation. For example, various sensors on and around a heart-lung machine, patient, and/or extracorporeal circuit can monitor the operations of the procedure using the heart-lung machine.
Real-time surgical reference indicium apparatus and methods for astigmatism correction
A system, method, and apparatus for guiding an astigmatism correction procedure on an eye of a patient are disclosed. An example apparatus include a photosensor configured to record a pre-operative still image of an ocular target surgical site of the patient. The apparatus also includes a real-time, multidimensional visualization module configured to produce a real-time multidimensional visualization of the ocular target surgical site during an astigmatism correction procedure. The apparatus further includes a data processor configured to determine a virtual indicium that includes data for guiding the astigmatism correction procedure. The data processor uses the pre-operative still image to align the virtual indicium with the multidimensional visualization such that the virtual indicium is rotationally accurate. The data processor then displays the multidimensional visualization of the ocular target surgical site in conjunction with the virtual indicium.
MEDICAL APPARATUS WITH OPTICAL SENSING, AND RELATED DEVICES AND METHODS
A method comprises grasping material between a pair of jaw members of a medical instrument; sensing light transmitted from the material grasped between the pair of jaw members to a location exterior to the pair of jaw members; and altering a grasping force exerted by the pair of jaw members on the material being grasped based on the sensing of the light transmitted.
Inductively powered end of life indicators for robotic surgical instruments
A surgical tool harvests power from a robotic surgical system having one or more robotic manipulators when a housing of the surgical tool is installed within a carriage of one of the robotic manipulators. The surgical tool harvests power via inductive coupling between an inductor of the surgical tool and a corresponding inductor of the carriage. The surgical tool may include an indicator that provides a user with an indication of remaining life of the surgical tool. The indicator may be an LED indicator that is illuminated with power generated via the inductive coupling. The indicator may also be an electro-chromic indicator that changes color when exposed to power generated via the inductive coupling. The indicator may also be a photo-chromic indicator that changes color when exposed to light from a light source powered via the inductive coupling.
