Surgical ratcheting assembly

Disclosed are devices, systems and methods for improving medical instruments and related tools, such as a ratcheting module that can be attached to various surgical instruments used during surgery.

MAGNETICALLY COUPLED POWER DELIVERY FOR SURGICAL IMPLANTS

A magnetically coupled drive module for delivering an implant to an eye. An implant may be stored, advanced, and delivered to an eye using a powered drive module. The drive module may be decoupled and sterilized for reuse.

INTERSPINOUS IMPLANT INSERTION INSTRUMENT WITH WING ACTUATION TOOL

An insertion instrument for inserting an implant includes an elongated main body having a proximal handle and a distal portion that selectively couples to the implant. A wing actuation tool is slidably engaged in a central passage of the elongated main body to fix the implant to the elongated main body. The wing actuation tool temporarily attaches to the implant allowing for deployment and retraction of wings of the implant during surgery. Longitudinal translation of the wing actuation tool deploys an actuation plunger of the implant.

A surgical end effector assembly includes a pair of jaw members, a knife defining a longitudinal slot, a pivot pin coupling the jaw members to one another, and a drive member including a drive pin that is engaged to the jaw members. The pivot pin and/or the drive pin extends through the longitudinal slot of the knife to couple the knife to the jaw members and/or the drive member. The end effector assembly is transitionable between a use position, wherein the knife and drive member are generally aligned with one another to facilitate releasable engagement of the end effector assembly with a surgical instrument, and a cleaning position, wherein the jaw members, knife, and drive member are fanned apart from one another to facilitate cleaning of the end effector assembly. Methods of disengaging and sterilizing end effector assemblies for reuse are also provided.

Compact binocular image capture device

An image capture device includes a plurality of stacked ceramic circuit boards, an image sensor, signal conditioning electronics, and a connector. Each ceramic circuit board is parallel and directly coupled to at least one other circuit board. The image sensor is mounted to a first ceramic circuit board. The signal conditioning electronics are mounted to one or more of the stacked ceramic circuit boards and are coupled to receive electrical signals generated by the image sensor. The image capture device is enclosed by a shaft and the stacked ceramic circuit boards are stacked along a length of the shaft. The connector is mounted to a second ceramic circuit board that is on an opposite side of the plurality of stacked ceramic circuit boards from the first ceramic circuit board. The connector is mounted to a side of the second ceramic circuit board facing away from the first ceramic circuit board.

CONTAINER SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR FORMING A KNOB IN A CONTAINER

A container system and a method for forming a knob in a container. The container system includes a container, in particular a medical or surgical sterile container preferably having a tub-like container vessel and/or a container cover; at least one separate coupling element; and at least one coupling system for releasably connecting the coupling element to the container. The coupling system includes a male coupling portion formed on the container and a female coupling portion formed on the coupling element. The coupling portions can be coupled to and uncoupled from one another. The male coupling portion is integrally formed in a wall of the container and is designed as a protruding knob having an undercut.

A milling head for a milling tool for prosthetic surgery operations and a milling tool comprising said milling head.

POWERED DRIVERS, INTRAOSSEOUS DEVICES AND METHODS TO ACCESS BONE MARROW

An apparatus for penetrating bone and accessing bone marrow is provided. The apparatus may include a penetrator assembly and a powered drill. The penetrator assembly may include an inner penetrator having a stylet. The penetrator assembly may also include an outer penetrator having a hollow cannula and a luer lock attachment. The powered drill may include a housing enclosing a motor and a power supply and associated circuitry. The powered drill may also include a connector receptacle for receiving a penetrator assembly connector of the penetrator assembly. The powered drill may include a magnetic connection which releasably locks the penetrator assembly connector into place with the powered drill. The power supply may include a rechargeable battery within the housing for supplying power to the motor. A battery indicator may be provided to indicate a level of the battery.

Insulating grips for minimally invasive surgical instruments

A surgical instrument with insulating grips is described. The grips can include internal metal frames that are arranged to limit electrical conductivity within the grips and to other components that attach to a grip, such as a ratchet. The internal metal frames can be constructed of multiple internal portions, spatially separated from one another to interrupt electrical conductivity between the internal portions, but coated with an insulating overmold to provide mechanical coupling between the portions. An internal metal frame can also include a notch, cut-out, or other region partially surrounded by the structure of the internal metal frame, which can be coated with an insulating overmold to define a region of the grip that does not have an internal metal frame therein but which can include an attachment point for mechanically coupling other components while limiting electrical coupling between the metal frame and the other components.

COMPUTER-ASSISTED SURGERY SYSTEM AND METHOD

There is described a system and a method for assisting a user manipulating an object during a surgery, the method comprising: tracking the object in a sterile field in which surgery is being performed at a location using a tracking device which generates tracking data; processing the tracking data using a processing device located outside the sterile field to generate position and orientation information related to the object; and sending the position and orientation information related to the object to a displaying device positioned in the sterile field adjacent to the location at which the surgery is being performed, for display to the user.
