A composition includes a near-infrared absorber, a color material that transmits near-infrared rays and shields visible light, at least one compound selected from the group consisting of a resin having a glass transition temperature of 100 C. or higher, and a resin precursor of the resin having a glass transition temperature of 100 C. or higher, and a surfactant.

(i-3) .sub.max(A) DCM is in a wavelength range of 760 to 900 nm. (i-4) T.sub.435-480ave (A) DCM is 95% or more and T.sub.480-590ave (A) DCM is 97% or more. (i-5) a difference between T.sub.435-480ave (A) DCM and T.sub.435-480ave (A) TR, and a difference between T.sub.480-590ave (A) DCM and T.sub.480-590ave (A) TR are 10.5% or less. (ii-1) an average transmittance of light in the wavelength range of 800 to 900 nm is 5% or less at an incident angle of 60 degrees.
CHARGE CONTROL AGENTS AND PARTICLE DISPERSIONS INCLUDING THE SAME
Mixtures are disclosed containing a plurality of charged pigment particles and a one or more charge control agents. At least one of the charge control agents has a chemical structure that includes a cationic head group, such as an ammonium cation or an iminium compound, and a non-ionic, polar functional group, other than an acyclic secondary amide group. The mixtures are useful as dispersions for forming electrophoretic media that may be incorporated into electrophoretic displays. Alternatively, the dispersions may be useful for forming electrophotographic toners and dispersions for other printing applications.
YELLOW TONER

Plastic Articles Containing Suspended Photochromic Dye Molecules
The present invention provides a plastic article containing suspended photochromic dye molecules, and the said suspended photochromic dye molecules suspended in liquid micro-droplets of a suspension medium, and the said micro-droplets of the said suspension medium containing the said suspended photochromic dye molecules are embedded inside a solid polymer matrix, and the said solid polymer matrix is formed by polymerization of liquid polymer precursors. The invented structure of a plastic article containing suspended photochromic dye molecules exhibits fast response time and enhances photochromic performance.
Polyalkylene imine based polymers having polyester groups
The present invention relates to polyalkylene imine based polymers, which have aliphatic polyester groups attached to the polyalkylenimine backbone via an carboxamide group. The novel polymers are particularly useful as dispersants for pigments, in particular as dispersants for pigments in non-aqueous compositions. The polyalkylene imine based polymers are characterized by having a) a polyalkylene imine backbone; b) at least one aromatic moiety P.1, which is bound to a nitrogen atom of the polyalkylene imine backbone via an carboxamide or carboximide group; and c) at least one aliphatic polyester moiety P.2, which is bound to a nitrogen atom of the polyalkylene imine backbone via an carboxamide group.

The present invention relates to [1] a process for producing a pigment composition, including the step of subjecting a raw material pigment composition containing PY74 and a specific by-product to a treatment with an oxidizing agent, in which a content of the specific by-product in the pigment composition after the treatment on the basis of a content of PY74 in the pigment composition after the treatment is not more than 1,200 mg/kg; [2] a process for producing a pigment composition, including the step of subjecting a raw material pigment composition containing PY74, a specific by-product and water to a treatment with hydrogen peroxide; [3] a method of reducing a content of a specific by-product in a raw material pigment composition containing PY74 and the specific by-product, said method including the step of subjecting the raw material pigment composition to a treatment with an oxidizing agent; and [4] a method of preventing an ink for ink-jet printing from suffering from ejection defects, including the step of compounding the pigment composition produced by any of the aforementioned processes in the ink for ink-jet printing.

A composition includes a near infrared absorbing pigment and a solvent, in which the near infrared absorbing pigment is at least one selected from a colorant compound which has a cation and an anion in the same molecule, a colorant compound which is a salt of a cationic chromophore and a counter anion, and a colorant compound which is a salt of an anionic chromophore and a counter cation, a D50 particle size in which a cumulative volume in a particle size distribution of particle sizes of the near infrared absorbing pigment is 50% is 100 nm or lower, and d values of Hansen solubility parameters of the near infrared absorbing pigment and the solvent satisfy a predetermined expression.
NANOPARTICLE DISPERSIONS
A method for preparing a dispersion of nanoparticles of a solid organic dye or pigment in a liquid carrier, the method comprising forming a solution or slurry of the solid organic dye or pigment in an organic or other solvent, and continuously mixing the solution or slurry with the liquid carrier in a counter current or concurrent mixing reactor providing a dispersion of the nanoparticles in the liquid carrier and solvent mixture and, optionally concentrating the dispersion.
