A METHOD FOR TREATING TITANIUM DIOXIDE PARTICLES, A TITANIUM DIOXIDE PARTICLE AND USES OF THE SAME
The invention relates to a method for preparing durable titanium dioxide particles. The preparation process includes an aqueous grinding step, which comprising providing an aqueous slurry or dispersion comprising titanium dioxide particles, aluminum containing compound and phosphorous containing compound into grinding equipment. The slurry or dispersion is subjected to an aqueous grinding process, and subsequently titanium dioxide particles having a core of titanium dioxide and a pre-coating layer thereon is obtained, said pre-coating layer containing aluminum and phosphorous containing compounds. The invention further covers the resulting titanium dioxide particles and uses thereof.
METHOD OF MILLING MINERALS IN THE PRESENCE OF A POLY (ITACONATE)
The invention relates to a method for producing particles of mineral material comprising grinding of at least one mineral material in the presence of water. The grinding according to the invention is carried out in the presence of at least one polymer obtained by a radical polymerization reaction of a partial sodium salt of itaconic acid and partial decarboxylation of the polymer obtained followed by partial or total neutralization of the decarboxylated polymer. The invention also relates to an aqueous composition comprising particles of ground mineral material and such a polymer, in particular a mass-loading composition for the production of paper or a paper-coating-colour composition.
METHOD FOR GRINDING MINERAL MATERIAL
The present invention relates to a method for producing mineral particles grinding a mineral material in the presence of a specific anionic polymer. The polymer used is obtained by means of polymerisation in the presence of sodium hypophosphite, disodium dipropionate trithiocarbonate and at least one radical-generating compound. The invention also relates to an aqueous composition comprising particles of ground mineral material and such a polymer, in particular a paper coating slip composition.
SMALL PARTICLE COMPOSITIONS AND ASSOCIATED METHODS
Milling methods that use grinding media particles formed of a ceramic material having an interlamellar spacing of less than 1250 nm.
COATING PIGMENTS AND METHODS OF MAKING THEREOF
Dielectric pigments having a metallic appearance for radar compatible coatings and methods for making such dielectric pigments are provided. In one example, the dielectric pigment includes a flake. The flake includes a plurality of alternating layers of dielectric materials including a first layer formed of a first dielectric material having a first refractive index in the visible spectrum range and a second layer disposed adjacent to the first dielectric layer and formed of a second dielectric material having a second refractive index in the visible spectrum range that is different than the first refractive index.
STIR-IN TITANIUM DIOXIDE PIGMENT COMPOSITION
A titanium dioxide pigment composition for use in a waterborne latex paint formulation is provided. The pigment composition comprises a plurality of titanium dioxide particles, and a dispersant package deposited on the surfaces of said titanium dioxide particles in an amount of no greater than about 5% by weight based on the combined weight of the titanium dioxide particles and the dispersant package. A titanium dioxide pigment composition slurry, a method of forming a titanium dioxide pigment composition, and a method of forming a titanium dioxide pigment composition slurry, all for use in a waterborne latex paint formulation, are also provided.
Small particle compositions and associated methods
Milling methods that use grinding media particles formed of a ceramic material having an interlamellar spacing of less than 1250 nm.
Method for producing a pigment paste, aqueous electrocoat material, use thereof, method for cataphoretic electrocoating, and coated article
The invention relates to a method for producing a pigment paste and an electrocoat containing the paste, the past being made by mixing solid pigment particles with a grind resin in the presence of water and/or an organic liquid, wherein the grind resin includes a dispersion of core-shell particles in an epoxide prepolymer which is liquid at 20 C. and the core-shell particles have a silicone core and a polymer shell.
Production of titanium dioxide pigment obtainable by the sulfate process with a narrow particle size distribution
The invention relates to a process for producing a titanium dioxide pigment obtainable by the sulfate process with a narrow particle size distribution, the pigment itself, and the use of said pigments in coatings and printing inks.
Titanium dioxide pigment and method for manufacturing same, and composition in which same is blended
Provided is a titanium dioxide pigment having minimal yellow color and minimal yellowing due to exposure, i.e., good yellowing resistance and high pigment performance such as brightness. Also provided is a titanium dioxide pigment which has a reduced amount of volatile moisture and which does not readily decompose when blended with a resin or the like. In the present invention, a compound including 0.05-20% by mass of phosphorus and an alkaline earth metal is present on surfaces of titanium dioxide particles having an average particle diameter of 0.15-1.0 m. The titanium dioxide pigment is manufactured by mixing an alkaline earth metal compound, a phosphate compound, and titanium dioxide particles having an average particle diameter of 0.15-1.0 m, and bonding the compound including phosphorus and an alkaline earth metal to the titanium dioxide particles.
