Embodiments of the present disclosure describe burner (10) configurations used in an industrial process to convert methane to olefins, aromatics, and nanoparticles/nanomaterials. Both a vitiated coflow burner and piloted turbulent burner with inhomogeneous inlets are disclosed.
Colored Composite Material
A solid composite material combining: an inorganic pigment in the form of discrete particles each comprising a colored core and a coating adapted to allow light to pass through and a matrix based on metalloid or metal oxide, said matrix being adapted to allow light to pass through.
Multifunctional coated powders and high solids dispersions
A coated powder comprises (a) nanoparticles, and (b) a coating, on the surface of the nanoparticles. The coating comprises (1) silica moieties, (2) organo oxysilane moieties selected from the group consisting of mono-organo oxysilane moieties, bi-organo oxysilane moieties and tri-organo oxysilane moieties, and (3) poly(dialkyl)siloxane moieties.
Non-Newtonian white inks
The present disclosure provides an example where a non-Newtonian white ink can include an aqueous ink vehicle, from 5 wt % to 60 wt % of white colorant, and from 0.1 wt % to 5 wt % of amphoteric alumina particles dispersed in the aqueous ink vehicle. The white colorant can include white metal oxide pigment having an average particulate size from 100 nm to 2,000 nm, an alumina coating on the white metal oxide pigment forming an alumina-coated pigment, and a polymeric dispersant associated with a surface of the alumina-coated pigment. The amphoteric alumina particles can have an average particles size from 2 nm to less than 100 nm.
Preparation of matt paints and printing inks
The invention relates to a pigment composition for preparing pigmented matt coatings, such as matt paints and printing inks. Further, the invention relates to a process for preparing such pigment composition, and to a coating formulation containing such composition. Finally, the invention is directed to a pigmented matt surface of a substrate, and to the use of the pigment compositions disclosed herein for matting substrates.
Carbon coated particles
Core particles produced in situ or introduced as preformed core particles are coated with a layer of carbon. Non-carbon as well as some carbon-based core materials can be utilized. The resulting carbon coated particles can find applications in rubber products, for instance as reinforcement for tire components.
COATING PIGMENTS AND METHODS OF MAKING THEREOF
Dielectric pigments having a metallic appearance for radar compatible coatings and methods for making such dielectric pigments are provided. In one example, the dielectric pigment includes a flake. The flake includes a plurality of alternating layers of dielectric materials including a first layer formed of a first dielectric material having a first refractive index in the visible spectrum range and a second layer disposed adjacent to the first dielectric layer and formed of a second dielectric material having a second refractive index in the visible spectrum range that is different than the first refractive index.
INORGANIC PIGMENT WITH THE FUNCTION OF LIGHT ACTIVATED CATALYST
The present invention relates to an inorganic pigment with the function of a catalyst that can be activated by light from the entire visible spectrum but also in the absence of light, to a process for obtaining it, to various formulations containing this inorganic pigment and its use. The present invention also provides a method of destroying pathogens represented by irradiating with electromagnetic radiation from the entire visible spectrum (400 nm-700 nm) the surfaces on which they have been applied -formulations containing the inorganic pigment. Additionally, the invention provides the use of the pigment disclosed herein for its catalytic, bactericidal, virucidal and de-pollution activity in the absence of light.
SCATTERING PARTICLE, INK COMPOSITION INCLUDING THE SAME, AND DISPLAY APPARATUS INCLUDING QUANTUM DOT LAYER PREPARED BY USING THE INK COMPOSITION
A scattering particle includes a core and a shell, wherein the shell includes a first layer including a compound capable of reacting with oxygen and/or moisture, and a second layer including a compound decomposable by light and/or heat.
Pigment with enhanced durability and plastic materials made therewith
The invention provides a method for enhancing the durability of a titanium dioxide material, the method including mixing citric acid and an alumina source with an aqueous slurry of titanium dioxide particles and water to form a mixture, the mixture having an acidic pH; and raising the pH of the mixture to a pH of no more than about 7.5 to form alumina-coated titanium dioxide particles. The invention also provides a pigmented plastic article including alumina-coated titanium dioxide particles prepared according to the invention dispersed in a polymer material.
