Water-based surface treatment agent

A surface treatment agent which is an aqueous emulsion containing: (a) a fluorine-free polymer including: (i) repeating units derived from a long-chain (meth)acrylate ester monomer represented by the formula: CH.sub.2CA.sup.11-C(O)O-A.sup.12, wherein A.sup.11 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, and A.sup.12 is a linear or branched aliphatic hydrocarbon group having 10-30 carbon atoms; (b) a surface active agent including both of a nonionic surface active agent and an anionic surface active agent, wherein the amount of the anionic surface active agent is at least 22% by weight, based on the total of the nonionic surface active agent and the anionic surface active agent; and (c) a liquid medium comprising water.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR TREATING EQUIPMENT SURFACE

A system and method for cleaning, preparing, and treating a new or used equipment surface with surface property modifiers. The method may comprise a cleaning procedure using clean water, a preparation of substrate to verify all areas of the substrate are clean and dry, a chemically preparation of the surface of the substrate by using a 1.sup.st alkaline preparation chemical and 2.sup.nd neutralizer preparation chemical to raise the surface area tension as high as possible and remove any hydrocarbon molecules and any possible organic oils that were left over from the metal forming, rinsing and drying substrate by using Isopropyl Alcohol to speed up the process, and applying at least an oxidizer to modify the surface property, such that a strong covalent bond can be formed, thereby preventing impurities from adhering to the treated surface.

DISPERSION

A dispersion demonstrating product stability and water repellency as a result of the concentration of an unreacted chloride monomer (a2) being 10.0 ppm or less, and containing: a non-fluorine copolymer (A) which includes a repeating unit derived from a hydrophobic monomer (a1) having a C2-40 hydrocarbon group, and a repeating unit derived from at least one chloride monomer (a2) selected from vinyl chloride and vinylidene chloride; and a liquid medium (B) which includes a water-soluble organic solvent (b1) having at least two groups selected from hydroxy groups and ether groups. Also disclosed is a method for producing the dispersion and a method for producing a treated product which includes applying the dispersion to a substrate.

Provided is a coating composition containing a silicon atom-containing resin. The resin includes a constituent unit (A) derived from a monomer (a) having at least one kind of silicon atom-containing group selected from the group consisting of groups represented by formulae (I), (II), (III), and (IV), a constituent unit (B) derived from a monomer (b) which is a (meth)acrylic acid ester represented by a formula (b), and a constituent unit (C) derived from a monomer (c) other than the monomers (a) and (b). The monomer (a) has a molecular weight of greater than 2500. A content of the constituent unit (A) is greater than 20% by mass in all constituent units. The monomer (c) has a homopolymer solubility parameter SP of less than or equal to 9.5 and has no cyclic structure. A content of the unit (C) is greater than 2% by mass in all constituent units.

A fluorine-containing curable composition which contains, as essential components, component (A) that is composed of a compound which is a linear polymer having a fluoropolyether in the main chain, while having a trifluoromethyl group at one end of the molecular chain and two or more (meth)acryl groups at the other end, component (B) that is composed of a compound which is a linear polymer having a fluoropolyether in the main chain, while having two or more (meth)acryl groups at each end of the molecular chain, and which has four to ten (meth)acryl groups in each molecule on average, and component (C) that is composed of a non-fluorinated acrylic compound which contains no fluoropolyether structure, while having two or more (meth)acryl groups in each molecule on average; the total blending amount of component (A) and component (B) relative to 100 parts by mass of component (C) is from 0.05 to 50 parts by mass; and the blending amount of component (A) relative to 100 parts by mass of component (B) is 1 to 100 parts by mass. This fluorine-containing curable composition is capable of forming a cured film that exhibits excellent antifouling properties and excellent water repellency, while having a low coefficient of kinetic friction.

ANTIFOULING COATING COMPOSITION

Disclosed herein is an antifouling coating composition containing a resin composition and an antifouling agent, where the resin composition includes a polymer (A) containing at least one monomer-derived structural unit having the structure represented by formula (1), (2) or (3) below, and after the resin composition is stored at 40 C. for 30 days, the decomposition rate of the structure represented by formula (1), (2) or (3) in the polymer (A) is 20% or lower.

The present invention provides an antifouling film that is excellent in antifouling properties, rubbing resistance, and adhesion. The antifouling film includes: a substrate; and a polymer layer disposed on a surface of the substrate and including on a surface thereof an uneven structure provided with projections at a pitch not longer than a wavelength of visible light, the polymer layer being a cured product of a polymerizable composition, the polymerizable composition containing, in terms of active components, 30 to 80 wt % of a polyfunctional acrylate, 10 to 30 wt % of a monofunctional amide monomer, 0.5 to 10 wt % of a fluorine-based release agent, and 5 to 30 wt % of a vinyl-based polymer containing a repeat unit represented by a predetermined formula.

Fluororesin coating composition for forming a topcoat and coating film therefrom

Provided is a fluororesin coating composition for forming a topcoat having improved non-tackiness and water and oil repellency. The fluororesin is crystalline tetrafluoroethylene and perfluoro(ethyl vinyl ether) copolymer having a perfluoro(ethyl vinyl ether) content of 8 to 20 mass % based on the total mass of the copolymer.

NON-FLUORINATED BLOCK COPOLYMER

A surface treatment agent which is a water-repellent agent, includes (1) a fluorine-free block copolymer, and (2) a liquid medium which is an organic solvent, water, or a mixture of water and an organic solvent. The non-fluorinated block copolymer includes at least one block segment (A) which includes a repeating unit formed from one or more types of acrylic monomer having a long-chain hydrocarbon group containing 12-40 carbon atoms. The non-fluorinated block copolymer preferably contains a segment (B) constituted by at least one of: (B1) a block segment including a repeating unit, different from that of segment (A), that is formed from an acrylic monomer having a long-chain hydrocarbon group including 12-40 carbon atoms; (B2) a block segment including a repeating unit formed from an acrylic monomer not having a long-chain hydrocarbon group; and (B3) a random segment formed from at least two types of acrylic monomers.
