A waterborne antifouling coating material composition according to one embodiment of the present invention includes: synthetic resin (A); at least one component (B) selected from a resin acid and a derivative thereof; flaky pigment (C) having an aspect ratio of 5 to 30; antifouling agent (D); and water (E), wherein a mass ratio (A):(B) between the synthetic resin (A) and the component (B) is 1:0.1 to 1:4.

POLYMER-CONTAINING COMPOSITION AND ANTIFOULING COATING COMPOSITION
Provided is an antifouling coating composition, which can form a coating film having good hardness and good physical properties and having a wear degree appropriate for expressing a long-term antifouling effect, has a viscosity not being excessively high, and makes it possible to reduce a content of volatile organic compounds, and a polymer-containing composition which is suitable for obtaining the antifouling coating composition. The polymer-containing composition contains a (meth)acryl-based copolymer (A-1), in which the (meth)acryl-based copolymer (A-1) contains a constitutional unit (U11) or a constitutional unit (U12) having carboxylate forming an ionic bond with a divalent metal atom, and has a weight-average molecular weight of 1,000 to 5,000, and the polymer-containing composition has a coating film hardness (Martens hardness) equal to or higher than 2.5 N/mm.sup.2.
SUSTAINABLE COMPOSITION AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCTION OF STAIN REPELLENT TEXTILE ARTICLE
The present invention provides a sustainable stain resistant composition 102 that includes (a) about 3% to 8% of at least one silicon nano particle surface functionalized with (Pentafluorophenyl)triethoxysilane 104, and (b) about 3% to 8% of at least one hydrophobic agent 106 selected from a group comprising polymer of (a) methacrylic esters of aliphatic C1 to C18 alcohols, or (b) vinyl acetate, or (c) acrylonitrile. The stain resistant composition further includes (a) at least one softening agent 110, (b) an extending agent 108, (c) at least one of (i) a wetting agent or (ii) a re-wetting agent 112, and (d) a microencapsulated odour neutralizing agent 114. The present invention also relates to a process for producing stain resistant textile 118 using the sustainable stain resistant composition 102.
ANTIFOULING COATING COMPOSITION COMPRISING NOVEL CARBON-BASED HYDROLYSABLE POLYMERS
The present application describes novel antifouling coating compositions comprising carbon-based hydrolysable polymers of ethylenically unsaturated monomers of which some include cyclic carbonates or cyclic ethers, e.g. (2,2-dimethyl-1,3-dioxolan-4-yl)methyl (meth)acrylate (IPGA/IPGMA), isopropylidene glycerol ethoxylated acrylate (iPGEOA), isopropylidene glycerol N ethoxylated methacrylate (iPGEOMA) and (2-oxo-1,3-dioxolan-4-yl)methyl (meth)acrylate (GCA/GCMA), and their use in antifouling coating compositions. Novel polymers are also described.
Anti-biofouling coating material
The present invention has an object to provide an anti-biofouling coating material which is capable of forming a coating film excellent in anti-biofouling properties and adhesiveness. Further, the present invention has another object to provide a ship, etc. and an article to be used in a humid or wetted environment, having, on its surface, a coating film formed by using the above anti-biofouling coating material. Further, the present invention has other objects to provide a method for preventing adhesion of organisms to a ship, etc. and to provide a method for preventing adhesion of fungi or algae to the surface of an article to be used in a humid or wetted environment, by using the above anti-biofouling coating material. The anti-biofouling coating material of the present invention is an anti-biofouling coating material to be applied to the surface of an article in order to prevent adhesion of organisms, which comprises a polymer F being a fluorinated polymer containing units based on a fluoroolefin, and a polymer G being a polymer containing units based on a (meth)acrylate having a polyoxyalkylene chain.
LIQUID-REPELLENT STRUCTURE, PRODUCTION METHOD THEREOF, WRAPPING MATERIAL, AND SEPARATION SHEET
The liquid-repellent structure comprises a major surface to which liquid repellency is imparted, and a liquid-repellent layer formed on the major surface; wherein the liquid-repellent layer contains a scale-like filler having an average particle size of 0.1 to 6 μm, inclusive, a thermoplastic resin, and a fluorine compound, and has aggregates containing the scale-like filler; and the ratio W.sub.S1/(W.sub.P+W.sub.FC) of the mass W.sub.S1 of the scale-like filler contained in the liquid-repellent layer to the sum (W.sub.P+W.sub.FC) of the mass W.sub.P of the thermoplastic resin and the mass W.sub.FC of the fluorine compound contained in the liquid-repellent layer is 0.1 to 10 inclusive.
LIQUID-REPELLENT COMPOSITION, METHOD FOR TREATING SUBSTRATE, AND ARTICLE
The present invention relates to a liquid-repellent composition which is hydrocarbon-based and can impart excellent liquid repellency; a method for treating a substrate using the liquid-repellent composition; and an article equipped with a coating film which is hydrocarbon-based and has excellent liquid repellency. The liquid-repellent composition of the present invention comprises a polymer (A) having a unit based on the following monomer (a); in the method for treating a substrate of the present invention, a substrate is treated with the liquid-repellent composition of the present invention; and the article of the present invention has a substrate treated with the liquid-repellent composition of the present invention. Formula (a) is (R.sup.1Q.sup.1)HCCH(Q.sup.2R.sup.2). Q.sup.1 and Q.sup.2 each independently a divalent linking group. R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each independently a monovalent hydrocarbon group having 8 to 24 carbon atoms.
BIO-BASED MONOMERS AND POLYMERS MADE THEREFROM
Disclosed are architectural compositions, including aqueous paint and stain compositions, that utilized copolymers including bio-based cross-linking monomers and their synthetic analogues that are comparable to copolymers including DAAM cross-linking monomers. The bio-based cross-linking monomers are preferably synthetic version of the bio-based cross-linking monomers.
Curable antifouling composition, method of use, and articles
Curable antifouling compositions include fluorinated polymers that contain a perfluoropolyether group, a poly(alkyleneoxide) group, a hydrolyzable silane group and a cationic curative. The curable antifouling compositions can be applied on a surface of a substrate, and at least partially cured to provide an article with antifouling properties.
