Provided are an ink for ink jet recording, including a pigment, a water-soluble polymer for dispersing the pigment, an alkali metal salt, and a water-soluble organic solvent, in which a ratio of a content of the water-soluble polymer to a total mass of the alkali metal salt is 15 or less, and a content of the water-soluble organic solvent with respect to a total mass of the ink for ink jet recording is 18% by mass or less; a method for producing an ink for ink jet recording; and an image recording method.
INKJET INK FOR IMPERMEABLE BASE MATERIAL, IMAGE RECORDING METHOD, AND METHOD OF PRODUCING LAMINATE
An inkjet ink for an impermeable base material includes water, a resin-coated pigment in which at least a part of the pigment is coated with a crosslinked resin, a solvent A which is an alkanediol compound having a boiling point of 180° C. to 200° C., and a solvent B which is at least one of a monoalcohol compound having a boiling point of 70° C. to 160° C. or a glycol monoether compound having a boiling point of 70° C. to 160° C. An image recording method includes applying of the inkjet ink for an impermeable base material to record an image.
INK SET AND RECORDING HEAD INSPECTION METHOD
An ink set includes an inkjet ink and a recording head filling liquid. The inkjet ink contains a pigment, a pigment covering resin, and water. The recording head filling liquid contains polyethylene glycol, a nonionic surfactant, and water. The recording head filling liquid has a viscosity of at least 3 mPa.Math.s and no greater than 10 mPa.Math.s. The polyethylene glycol has a mass average molecular weight of at least 170 and no greater than 300. A percentage content of the polyethylene glycol in the recording head filling liquid is at least 7.0% by mass and no greater than 55.0% by mass. The pigment covering resin includes a styrene-acrylic resin.
INKJET INK AND INKJET RECORDING APPARATUS
An inkjet ink contains a pigment, a pigment dispersion resin, a water-soluble organic solvent, and a polymer nonionic surfactant. The pigment dispersion resin has an acid value of at least 55 mgKOH/g and no greater than 97 mgKOH/g. The polymer nonionic surfactant has a mass average molecular weight of at least 7,000 and no greater than 12,500. An inkjet recording apparatus includes a linehead and a conveyance section which conveys a recording medium. The linehead ejects the above inkjet ink onto the recording medium.
White inks
A white ink can include an aqueous ink vehicle, from 5 wt % to 25 wt % of white metal oxide pigment having an alumina coating, a dispersant associated with a surface of the white metal oxide pigment, and from 0.05 wt % to 0.5 wt % of amphoteric alumina particles having an average particles size from 2 nm to less than less than 100 nm. The white ink can further include from 0.3 wt % to 1.1 wt % monovalent metal salt, or from 0.005 wt % to 0.175 wt % divalent metal salt, or both.
White inks
A white ink can include an aqueous ink vehicle, from 5 wt % to 25 wt % of white metal oxide pigment having an alumina coating, a dispersant associated with a surface of the white metal oxide pigment, and from 0.05 wt % to 0.5 wt % of amphoteric alumina particles having an average particles size from 2 nm to less than less than 100 nm. The white ink can further include from 0.3 wt % to 1.1 wt % monovalent metal salt, or from 0.005 wt % to 0.175 wt % divalent metal salt, or both.

An aqueous dispersion of resin particles comprising a dispersing group covalently bonded to the resin and at least one repeating unit of formula I, II and/or III and which is obtainable by contacting a compound A comprising at least 2 functional groups selected from the group of functional groups —X—C(═O)—CHR1-C(═O)—R2, —X—C(═O)—C≡C—R2; or —X—C(═O)—CR1=CR2-NR11R12, with a compound B comprising at least two —NH.sub.2, —NH.sub.3.sup.+ or —N═C═O, wherein X, R1, R2, R3, R11 and R12 have the same meaning as that defined in the claims and wherein compound A and/or B comprise a dispersing group. The invention also includes a method of producing the aqueous dispersion and further relates to an aqueous inkjet ink comprising the resin particles.
