A flexible operating room lighting system may be coupled to a wall, ceiling, or fixture of a facility. The lighting system can modularly accommodate multiple illumination arms and incorporate one or more microphone thereon, permitting the vocal control using a processor for hands free operations. The lighting system may include a speaker and a camera to facilitate two-way communications with a user to facilitate demonstrations for individuals undergoing tutelage in the particular facility's profession. The lighting system may employ a stand with wheels to facilitate modularity. Further, a cover with a transparent front end may be provided to be slipped over the lighting system and securing through a cover fastener. By providing each illumination arm with a jack, the illumination arm may be modularly assigned, replaced, sanitized. Thus, the present invention provides reliable sanitary measures while further facilitating a flexible operable device through the illumination arms.

SMALL FORM MODULAR TRACKING DEVICE FOR COMPUTER ASSISTED SURGERY
20220183762 · 2022-06-16 ·

A computer-implemented system for utilizing one or more surgical lighting systems to improve/expand the tracking capability of a computer-assisted surgical system. The system may include a surgical light having a handle attachment that can be removed and a modular tracking device that can be attached to the surgical light. The modular tracking device can then track various items in the operating theater and communicate position information of tracked items to a computer-assisted surgical system.

Retroreflector LED spectrum enhancement method and apparatus

A method and apparatus for improving the optical properties of an LED using a retroreflector element. A light emitting apparatus includes a substrate, at least one light emitting device attached to the substrate and including an outer primary light emitting surface through which substantially all light is emitted, and a retroreflector assembly attached to the substrate. The retroreflector assembly includes a proximal surface adjacent to the substrate, a distal surface spaced away from the substrate, and a retroreflective portion arranged between proximal surface and the distal surface. A distance from the distal surface to the substrate is less than or equal to a distance from the outer primary light emitting surface to the substrate.

Protective cover for a part of a medical device

A protective device (10, 10′) provides a protective cover for a part (12, 12′, 12″) of a medical device and includes a flexible part (14, 14′) and with a rigid part (16, 16′). The rigid part (16, 16′) has at least one locking element (28, 28′). The locking element (28, 28′) is lockingly connectable to a counterpiece of the corresponding part (12, 12′, 12″) of the medical device.

LIGHTHEAD HAVING INTEGRATED AMBIENT ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITION SENSOR

A system includes a surgical lighthead including a lighthead housing including a plurality of light emitting elements therein that are arranged to emit light toward to a region of interest, and a handle attached to the lighthead housing. A sensor is integrated with the lighthead and configured to measure an ambient environmental condition at the lighthead. In other embodiments, a medical device support system includes a support and an ambient environmental condition sensor assembly coupled to the support column and including a sensor configured to measure an ambient environmental condition at the ambient environmental condition sensor assembly. A controller is operatively coupled to the sensor and configured to detect an ambient environmental condition based at least in part on the measured ambient environmental condition by the sensor.

SMOKE EVACUATION ELECTROSURGICAL PENCIL WITH LIGHTING

An electrosurgical pencil includes a handle housing. A light source is disposed within the handle housing and is configured to generate light for illuminating a surgical site. A light-transmitting nozzle formed of a resin is disposed in proximity to the light source and defines a fluid lumen in fluid communication with a fluid lumen of the handle housing for suctioning surgical smoke from a surgical site. The light-transmitting nozzle is configured to transmit light generated by the light source. An electrode extends from a distal end portion of the handle housing and through an aperture defined by the light source. The electrode is configured to deliver electrosurgical energy to tissue.
