ROBOTIC NAVIGATION AND GUIDANCE SYSTEM FOR IMPLANTING A NEUROMODULATION DEVICE
The present invention provides a robotic navigation system for identifying a target nerve for guiding and/or performing the implanting a neuromodulation device at the target nerve wherein the neuromodulation device includes a pulse generator and at least one lead in electrical or operative connection with the pulse generator. In some embodiments, the location of the robotically advanced lead and electrode may be imaged and displayed on a display and/or may be visually annunciated using one or more lights to indicate whether the placement location of the lead or electrode is within or outside of a predetermined distance of the target nerve.
ENHANCED VIDEO ENABLED SOFTWARE TOOLS FOR MEDICAL ENVIRONMENTS
Medical software tools platform utilizes a surgical display to provide access to specific medical software tools, such as medically-oriented applications or widgets, that can assist those in the operating room, such as a surgeon or surgical team, with a surgery. For various embodiments, the medical software tools platform and its associated medical software tools are presented on a surgical display (e.g., being utilized in an operating room) over an image stream provided by a surgical camera (e.g., in use in the operating room or with other endoscopic procedures). Various medical software tools can provide features and functions that can facilitate integration of equipment in an operating room or add medical context awareness to anatomic structures presented in the image stream from the surgical camera and provide archived information pertaining to the same.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR DISPLAYING PREOPERATIVE AND INTRAOPERATIVE IMAGE DATA OF A SCENE
Mediated-reality imaging systems, methods, and devices are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, an imaging system includes a camera array configured to (i) capture intraoperative image data of a surgical scene in substantially real-time and (ii) track a tool through the scene. The imaging system is further configured to receive and/or store preoperative image data, such as medical scan data corresponding to a portion of a patient in the scene. The imaging device can register the preoperative image data to the intraoperative image data, and display the preoperative image data and a representation of the tool on a user interface, such as a head-mounted display.
Digital-based medical devices
A skin measuring microscope includes a housing, an electronic imager disposed along an imaging axis, and an illumination system. The illumination system includes a plurality of LEDs disposed in a ring-like configuration adjacent a distal end of the housing.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR IMAGE GUIDED POST-NASAL NERVE ABLATION
Devices and methods for treating rhinitis are provided. An integrated therapy and imaging device is provided for single handheld use. The device may have a hollow elongated cannula, a therapeutic element coupled to a distal portion of the cannula, an imaging assembly coupled to the cannula to provide visualization of the therapeutic element, and an articulating region operably coupled to the imaging assembly to articulate the imaging assembly. The imaging assembly may be articulated so as to translate vertically, laterally, axially, and/or rotationally.
SYSTEMS, METHODS, AND MEDIA FOR SELECTIVELY PRESENTING IMAGES CAPTURED BY CONFOCAL LASER ENDOMICROSCOPY
In accordance with some embodiments of the disclosed subject matter, systems, methods, and media for selectively presenting images captured by confocal laser endomicroscopy (CLE) are provided. In some embodiments, a method comprises: receiving images captured by a CLE device during brain surgery; providing the images to a convolution neural network (CNN) trained using at least a plurality of images of brain tissue captured by a CLE device and labeled diagnostic or non-diagnostic; receiving an indication, from the CNN, likelihoods that the images are diagnostic images; determining, based on the likelihoods, which of the images are diagnostic images; and in response to determining that an image is a diagnostic image, causing the image to be presented during the brain surgery.
Projection Scanning System
Imaging systems projecting augmented information on a physical object that at a minimum include a processor, a memory device operably connected to the processor, a projector operably coupled to the processor, and a distance-measuring device operably connected to the processor. The memory device stores augmented image information, and the processor is configured to project augmented image information onto the physical object. The distance-measuring device is configured to measure the distance to the physical object. The processor uses distance measurement information from the distance measuring device to adjust scaling of the augmented image information. The processor provides the scale adjusted augmented image information to the projector. System can also be used for fluorescence imaging during open surgery, for endoscopic fluorescence imaging and for registration of surgical instruments.
System and method for enhanced data analysis with specialized video enabled software tools for medical environments
Medical software tools platforms utilize a surgical display to provide access to specific medical software tools, such as medically-oriented applications or widgets, that can assist surgeons or surgical team in performing various procedures. In particular, an endoscopic camera may register the momentary rise in the optical signature reflected from a tissue surface and in turn transmit it to a medical image processing system which can also receive patient heart rate data and display relevant anomalies. Changes in various spectral components and the speed at which they change in relation to a source of stimulus (heartbeat, breathing, light source modulation, etc.) may indicate the arrival of blood, contrast agents or oxygen absorption. Combinations of these may indicate various states of differing disease or margins of tumors, and so forth. Also, changes in temperatures, physical dimensions, pressures, photoacoustic pressures and the rate of change may indicate tissue anomalies in comparison to historic values.
MEDICAL ARM DEVICE
Provided is a medical arm device that avoids interference with a surgeon.
A medical arm device includes a first arm part including a tip part that supports a medical instrument such as an endoscope, and a second arm part that supports the first arm part, and includes at least two horizontal rotation axes and an inter-axis distance changing unit that changes a distance between the two horizontal rotation axes. The tip part includes a structure in which joint members corresponding to rotation axes of three degrees of freedom that determine an attitude of the medical instrument are directly connected, and a rotation axis around a longitudinal axis of the medical instrument, a yaw axis in a case where the rotation axis around the longitudinal axis is a roll axis, and a pitch axis are disposed in order from a most tip part.
Malleable suction device
A surgical tool, consisting of a handle and a flexible insertion tube, having a proximal end coupled to the handle and a distal end configured to be inserted into an orifice of a living subject. The tool has an inner tube, which is bendable without breaking over a range of angles in response to a bending force, and which retains the bent shape after the bending force has been removed. The inner tube is located within the insertion tube. A flexible tubing defines a lumen and is contained within the inner tube. A tool working tip is configured to contact tissue in the subject and to mate with a distal termination of the inner tube. A rigid outer tube grips outer surfaces of the working tip and of the inner tube so as to maintain an opening of the working tip in communication with the flexible tubing lumen.
