Registering Intra-Operative Images Transformed from Pre-Operative Images of Different Imaging-Modality for Computer Assisted Navigation During Surgery
A computer platform is provided for computer assisted navigation during surgery. The computer platform includes at least one processor that is operative to transform pre-operative images of a patient obtained from a first imaging modality to an estimate of the pre-operative images of the patient in a second imaging modality that is different than the first imaging modality. The at least one processor is further operative to register the estimate of the pre-operative images of the patient in the second imaging modality to intra-operative navigable images or data of the patient.
AUGMENTED REALITY SOFT TISSUE BIOPSY AND SURGERY SYSTEM
The combination of a marker system with binocular AR glasses to create a soft tissue procedure system used for surgery, biopsies, etc. A marker localization system is functionally integrated with augmented reality (AR) glasses. This soft tissue system can be applicable for AR surgeries in soft tissues involving mobile and static anatomies anywhere in the body, such as for example, breast, soft tissue, lungs, lymph nodes, liver surgeries, etc. By the placement of single or multiple markers and localizing the markers with a locator, such as a hand-held locator as a non-limiting example, the above-mentioned system provides a real-time intraoperative coordinate frame for the virtual projection of the markers (and the associated ROI) on/in the surgical field/biopsy field of view, using commercial off-the-shelf computer hardware (laptops, tablets, etc.) for the required image processing.
UPPER COIL ASSEMBLY OF AN RF PROBE FOR USE IN AN MRI SYSTEM
An upper coil assembly for use with a lower RF coil assembly mounted to provide an RF probe arranged to be engaged with a head of a patient in MRI includes a plurality of coil loops arranged in a row defining a phase shift coil array with each coil loop including an independent output conductor for communicating signals to a respective preamplifier for independent amplification and each coil loop including a plurality of capacitors at spaced positions therearound. To decouple the loops each coil loop partly overlaps a next coil loop with a first decoupling capacitor shared on a common portion of each coil loop and each next coil loop. The first and third coil loops are also decoupled by using third decoupling capacitor in a connecting conductor between the first and third coil loops.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING AND DISPLAYING VIDEO STREAMS
A method performed by a video controller. The method receives a first video stream captured by an endoscope of a surgical system, and receives a second video stream that comprises surgical data. The method displays the second video stream superimposed above an area of the first video stream, and determines that the second video stream is to cease being superimposed. Responsive to determining that the second video stream is to cease being superimposed, the method continues to display the first video stream.
FLUOROSCOPIC ROBOTIC PROSTHETIC IMPLANT SYSTEM AND METHODS
Techniques for robotically guiding a cup-shaped implant or instrument are provided. In an example, the technique can include a combination of the following operations. Acquiring a calibration image including a cup-shaped element in a first orientation. Identifying a first elliptical outline of the cup-shaped element. Acquiring a navigation image including the cup-shaped element in a second orientation. Identifying a second elliptical outline of the cup-shaped element. Aligning a coordinate system of a robotic system to a patient, and positioning an implant or instrument based on a pre-operative plan within the coordinate system.
Cardiac and or respiratory gated image acquisition system and method for virtual anatomy enriched real time 2D imaging in interventional radiofrequency ablation or pace maker replacement procecure
The present invention refers to the field of cardiac electrophysiology (EP) and, more specifically, to image-guided radio frequency ablation and pacemaker placement procedures. For those procedures, it is proposed to display the overlaid 2D navigation motions of an interventional tool intraoperatively obtained from the same projection angle for tracking navigation motions of an interventional tool during an image-guided intervention procedure while being navigated through a patient's bifurcated coronary vessel or cardiac chambers anatomy in order to guide e.g. a cardiovascular catheter to a target structure or lesion in a cardiac vessel segment of the patient's coronary venous tree or to a region of interest within the myocard. In such a way, a dynamically enriched 2D reconstruction of the patient's anatomy is obtained while moving the interventional instrument. By applying a cardiac and/or respiratory gating technique, it can be provided that the 2D live images are acquired during the same phases of the patient's cardiac and/or respiratory cycles. Compared to prior-art solutions which are based on a registration and fusion of image data independently acquired by two distinct imaging modalities, the accuracy of the two-dimensionally reconstructed anatomy is significantly enhanced.
Health imaging informatics system and methods
Methods and systems for providing treatment planning information for a neurology procedure, including neurosurgical procedures. A database containing historical data about historical procedures is accessed. Historical data relevant to a neurology procedure is determined, based on a determination of similarity to a set of data characterizing the neurology procedure. Historical instances of procedure parameters relevant to the neurology procedure are determined and displayed.
METHODS AND DEVICES FOR INTERLEAVED SURGICAL IMAGING
Systems and methods for receiving data characterizing a plurality of images of a surgical region that includes a first target tissue. The plurality of images include a plurality images associated with visible light images, a plurality of images associated with a first wavelength and a plurality of images associated with the second wavelength that is different from the first wavelength. The method also includes generating a first scene by at least overlaying a first set of images of the plurality of images. The first set of images are temporally contiguous and include a first image associated with the first wavelength, a second image associated with visible light, and a third image associated with the second wavelength. The image further includes generating a second scene by at least overlaying a second set of images of the plurality of images. The second set of images are temporally contiguous.
Tissue model dynamic visual rendering
Disclosed herein is a method of graphically presenting an indicating marker over a 3-D model of a tissue surface during a catheterization procedure, comprising determining a region over the 3-D model, deforming the indicating marker to congruently match a shape defined by the 3-D model across the region at a plurality of positions; and rendering the 3-D model into an image including the deformed indicating marker by generating an image of the 3-D model covered by said deformed indicating marker.
METHOD FOR OPERATING SURGICAL INSTRUMENT SYSTEMS
A method for adjusting the operation of a surgical instrument using machine learning in a surgical suite is disclosed.
