Spectral luminescence standard for the near infrared region
A spectral luminescence standard has bismuth in a light-transmissive inorganic matrix material and emits light in the near infrared region upon irradiation with excitation light. The bismuth acts as a luminescence emitter in the near infrared region. A method includes manufacturing such a spectral luminescence standard and a calibration medium which has the spectral luminescence standard in or on a carrier material.
LED LIGHTING APPARATUS HAVING IMPROVED COLOR RENDERING AND LED FILAMENT
A lighting device including at least one light emitter to emit blue light, a green phosphor having an emission peak in a range of 500 nm to 550 nm, a yellow phosphor having an emission peak in a range of 550 nm to 600 nm, and a red phosphor having an emission peak in a range of 600 nm to 650 nm, in which the yellow phosphor and the red phosphor have different full widths at half maximum, and the full width at half maximum of the yellow phosphor is longer than that of the red phosphor, and, in an emission spectrum, an intensity of light emitted from the lighting device increases from 500 nm to 600 nm, and the intensity of light emitted from the lighting device at 700 nm is less than about 10% of the maximum intensity of light emitted from the lighting device.
URANIUM-BASED PHOSPHORS AND COMPOSITIONS FOR DISPLAYS AND LIGHTING APPLICATIONS
A uranium-based phosphor selected from (i) phosphors having formula I or II:

where the phosphor having formula I or II is doped with an activator ion including Pr.sup.3+, Sm.sup.3+, or mixtures thereof, where 0a1, 0b1, 0.75x1.25, 0.75y1.25, 0.75z1.25, 2.5p3.5, 1.75q2.25, and 3.5r4.5; (ii) a phosphor having formula I or II, where the phosphor having formula I or II is doped with an activator ion selected from Eu.sup.3+, Pr.sup.3+, Sm.sup.3+, and mixtures thereof; and a counter ion comprising one or more alkali metal ions; and (iii) phosphors having formula III

where the phosphors having formula III are doped with an activator ion selected from: Eu.sup.3+, Pr.sup.3+, Sm.sup.3+, and mixtures thereof, where A is Li, Na, K, Rb, Cs, or a combination thereof.
